2 Two Choices!

"For what reason would you choose me, and why? It is obvious that it isn't random either, since we all know that this is never the case." Blade said to the cube that barely had any visible cracks on it.

The millennium of constant healing seemed to have done wonders compared to the state it was when first entering the darkness.

Anyway, hearing its future host analyze so deep into its statements, the system cube couldn't help but feel proud that this was the lifeform it chose to fuse with. Though it needn't tell Blade anything, it wanted to establish some form of trust, so it then replied.

"You are correct. This is not a random choice, but even if it wasn't random, it doesn't mean that you were predestined. When I was searching for a host, many lifeforms in this universe could have been chosen, but, while searching, I was lucky enough to stumble upon you.

You, whose future I am unable to predict. I am unable to calculate your future, meaning that you either die at the hands of a detached being in the future or, you are a detached lifeform yourself."

The system said in its genderless tone. It paused so that Blade could process such information, as it then continued.

"This brings us to why I chose you. The reason is simple, I want revenge, and I need a host who can deliver such revenge. An existence that is detached is of course the number one choice since the other systems and their hosts would be unable to calculate their deaths, and the one responsible."

The cube said. Blade only calmly listened to this as he then replied.

"So, are you not worried that I, a detached existence will somehow kill you instead. I mean, as stated before, you will be unable to calculate the cause of your death." Blade smiled while saying this. He was slightly interested to hear the reply of the system.

His words were heard, and the system immediately replied. "No, I am not. Once we fuse, our lives are connected. If I die, you die, and if you die, I also face erasure. It matters not what kind of existence you are, that is simply how we were created." It said.

Blade only nodded. Even though he asked such a question, he did not intend to kill his one-way ticket to immortality. So he did not mind the two of their lives being bound.

"Ok, what now? I get that you want me to get revenge, but I am currently weak. Hell, you are countless times stronger than me." Blade said with expectation clear in his eyes. Even if he was unusually calm, and mostly focused on increasing his lifespan, it did not mean he did not know about fantasy.

Such a thing as novels was rather famous in his homeworld. And, things like immortality, were something he could previously only dream off.

Now that he was being told he could have the chance to gain such a thing, was it not obvious he'll be excited?

Seeing such eyes, the cube knew what his future host expected, and he did not disappoint as he said.

"Well, my power isn't even at its peak because of sustaining severe injuries, so the best I can do is give you either of these two choices. You can only pick one of them though, but remember, both of these choices have infinite potential."

The system said. Immediately after, two holographic screens appeared in front of Blade. On his right side, Blade saw the words written on one of the holographic screens and he couldn't help but gain an extreme shock after reading the contents.

[ Fox Demon Nine Tail Bloodline-

Description: A mysterious race birthed in a certain dimension of Hell. They are very good at disguise abilities such as shapeshifting and are even better at doing illusions. This race has the potential to reach the power level of a peak universal lifeform, but with infinite potential, it is only a matter of time before they can easily surpass such a power ]

Such words sent waves of shock up the back of Blade. He didn't understand some of it, especially what was classified as a peak universal lifeform, but from the name 'Universal', he was pretty damn sure that it was a title that only the truly strong beings can have.

Shifting his gaze to his left side, he was again shocked by the contents written on the holographic screen.

[ Chaotic Body Supreme Art

Description: A cultivation technique that can make the user reach untold levels in body cultivation. Not much is known about the existence of who created this technique, but what is known, is that this being must be at an incredible level to create something that can make even the average man possibly enter the power level of a peak Universal lifeform. Once again, with infinite potential, it is only a matter of time before one can easily surpass a power level of a peak Universal lifeform.

Warning: Those who cultivate this technique may face inhumane pain if said being's talent isn't enough. Of course, this does not mean that they will not benefit, it simply means you'll likely become a masochist by the time you are finished cultivating this technique to its highest form ]

Seeing these two prompts appearing in front of him, Blade couldn't help but be left shocked. His calm expression betrayed his current shock, but the system was able to see through such a front.

"I am unsure what to pick." Blade said out loud. He was honest with himself and knew that he was a new fledgling of the sort to the world of power. He was unaware of what would be good for him or not.

Hearing its future host's problems, the system then replied.

"Hmm, well let's break this down and make it easy for you to understand. Both are at the same level in terms of potential, but the potential isn't much of a problem with me here. The most important thing is the speed at which one can break through realms."

The system said. It stopped mid-way to give Blade time to process its words, as it then continued.

"But, once more, these two are at the same level in terms of speed through realms. But, the difference between these two isn't such things, it is instead the path with which you will go down. One path is as its name implies, and is the path of Body cultivation.

The Fox Demon Nine-Tailed Bloodline, on the other hand, will allow for your journey of Soul Cultivation to be extremely easy." The system said. Blade's eyes gleamed with excitement, as his interest in the word 'cultivation' increased. But, once again, he was left confused by the naming of these so-called cultivation paths.

Not so much Body cultivation, since it was obvious it had to do with the body, but more so, soul cultivation.

"Mr. System, what exactly is Soul cultivation?" He asked.

"As its name implies, Soul cultivation is cultivating one's soul to a higher tier. Similar to Body cultivation, it is simply a different path to power. While those of Body cultivation tend to use brute force, those of Soul cultivation are calmer and more refined than Body cultivators."

The system replied. But, unexpectedly, Blade's face immediately contorted into a frown upon hearing the system's explanation, as he instantly replied.

"I choose the Chaotic Body Supreme Art!"

Thrum!

The system was shocked by Blade's decision. If it had a mouth, then said mouth would have already formed into the shape of an O. Gob-smacked by Blade's decision, the system then replied to Blade by saying...

"But, you do know, if you choose the Chaotic Body Supreme Art, the world of body cultivation where we will need to go to, will be that of chaos.

I am not saying that the world of Soul cultivation is any tamer, but I am saying that those in the Body cultivation world are way more ruthless and what one would call demonic in their actions."

The system hurriedly said.

Blade turned a deaf ear to his system's warnings as he walked up to the screen on his left side and clicked the Yes button. Thereafter, a bright flash of light blinded him instantaneously after clicking the yes button.

Ahhhhhh!!

Blade screamed out in pain while clutching his head. An insane amount of information and experience was suddenly being imprinted into his mind, causing him to uncontrollably yelp in pain.

Thankfully, the pain eventually subsided a Blade weakly got up from the ground. Trickling down his back were numerous beads of cold sweat, as he then darted his gaze toward his future system and asked.

"How? How did you do that?"

Immediately after, the system replied.

"Such a simple thing is a specialty of us systems. We call it Partial Reality Manipulation. It was the only reason why I escaped my enemies!"
