Determination

Ahhhhh!!

Blade let out a blood-curling scream as he watched on in horror as his right leg was torn and ripped out.

But as the alligator tried to bite off more than he can chew and crawl toward Blade who lay on the land, his skin began excreting smoke as he jumped back into the pond. Blade, who had tears forming in his eyes, gazed on at this sight as he did not know if to thank his shit luck or not.

Forcefully turning his body over, and now with only one hand and one foot, Blade slowly crawled deeper into the cave.

The green sun shone down onto his body, and even though he was sure that it was the sun that caused the alligator to hurriedly run back into the water, he also knew that at some point in time, the day will turn night.

The chance of the alligator exiting the water to finish its meal is pretty high, and he was unsure whether his healing factor would allow for his hand and leg to heal by that time. He gritted his teeth in anger, his life that was once normal, was now filled with tribulations.

His once glorified, and spectacular beauty, was nowhere to be seen. Yet, he did not lose hope, as while he crawled deeper into the dark mouth of the cave, the only thought on his mind, was the word 'power'.

If he had power, no one would have dared to bind him, and torture him. Hell, even if they did, would he have been able to easily kill them. Even if he hadn't killed anyone in his previous world, after undergoing such torture, killing wasn't much. In fact, he thought that he needed to kill the residents of this whole accursed world.

If it wasn't for the humans of this world...

Wouldn't he have not lost his arm?

Wouldn't he have not been poisoned?

Wouldn't he have not had his leg ripped off?!

He now knew that whatever it was, he only wanted power. With power, he will be able to get his revenge, with it, he will be able to rid the world of the monsters in human form. With it, he will be able to eventually find a way to get to his ultimate goal.

With power, he will eventually become eternal!

And, even though he was unsure how it would happen, he was confident that he'll find a way. This world was after all filled with all kinds of lifeforms and mysterious powers. From splitting oceans with one swing of the sword to destroying mountains with one punch.

Well, at least that is what was recorded in the book he read. And, such contents were confirmed by the system which he found completely useless. But, even if he knew that such strength is possible, as of this moment, he did not have it. He did not even have the strength to kill some half-baked enemies such as Latin, and eventually the city lord.

These facts played on his mind, causing him to become even more fatigued. And, as expected, his speed of crawling slowed, and he then fell unconscious. Thankfully, with his previous speed, and the fact that he was crawling for more than a half-an-hour, he was already tens of meters into this cave.

Tsk!

"Even now, my body still hasn't fully healed." Blade complained while watching his left hand that was missing from wrist down. Then he gazed at his left leg which was also missing its foot as it only regrew up to his ankle.

{The host shouldn't worry about such a thing. One more night of sleeping would probably be enough. And since you can currently do nothing, while you have also found yourself in a rather safe place, why don't you follow the instructions of the Chaotic Body Supreme Art}

Hearing his system's words, Blade smiled. He knew he was weak, and only the manual that was infused into his memories could help him get stronger. Since he already knew how to use the manual, he folded his legs and sat in a lotus position.

Entering a meditative state and now with no distracting thoughts, Blade's body carefully followed the breathing technique of the Chaotic Body Supreme Art. Even though this wasn't enough to get him stronger, or for him to enter the Body Forging realm, with the continuous use of the breathing technique, by the time he fully healed, wouldn't this way of breathing would be normal?

Blade began using the breathing technique. It seemed that his talent wasn't half bad and the only problem he found was that his breathing was a little uncomfortable. Thereafter, time passed as he realized that something seemed to be amiss.

Minutes and even a few hours passed yet he felt no changes. The only thing that changed was the fact that he began growing accustomed to the different way of breathing. Yet, even now, he still had expected some form of change.

"How come there isn't a change. I know nothing much will happen if I do not do the weird movements while breathing, but I still expected to...I don't know, feel slightly stronger?" Blade asked his system.

{As you said before, the only way for an obvious change to take place, is for you to follow the movements in the manual while also following the breathing method}

*Sigh*

Hearing this, Blade could only sigh, before he continued with his breathing. It was an incredibly boring sequence of actions, simply breathing in and out, but he didn't complain since his goal was obviously to become stronger, no matter what he needed to go through, he would do almost anything to get to such a goal.

(7 Hours Later)

Minutes turned to hours, and soon after, more than seven hours had passed since Blade began following the manual. Because of how boring the task was before he had even realized it, Blade was steadfast asleep even when sitting in a lotus position.

Shockingly, even when sleeping, Blade seemed to be using the same breathing technique of the Chaotic Body Supreme Art. It seemed that through his continuous efforts, and probably because his talent was boosted by the awakening of his High Human bloodline, he was able to get accustomed to the breathing technique rather quickly.

This brought fought many changes in his body, but the one change that he would see the results of now was his healing factor, and his hand and leg that had somehow been reformed. Shortly after, Blade's eyelids fluttered as his crystal blue eyes could be seen.

Awakening after a seemingly nice sleep, the first thing Blade did was to check if all of his body parts were in their rightful places. He couldn't help but be pleasantly surprised when he saw his hand and his foot finally fully formed.

Without wasting any time, he stood up to his feet. Throughout this entire time, he hadn't even realized that he was still using the breathing technique from the manual. Gazing at his surroundings which were too dark for him to see, Blade smiled.

"I am not going to leave here any time soon." Blade said out loud. He had a solid determination to not leave this place. With the awakening of his High Human bloodline, even though he hadn't eaten any food for more than seven days, he was surprisingly not feeling as if he was starving.

Yes, he was hungry, but the hunger felt more like someone who hadn't eaten or drank anything in six or so hours, it was still a bearable hunger. So, with this in mind, Blade's expression turned to that of seriousness as he began to...dance?

"The movements for this Chaotic Body Supreme Art sure are weird." Blade said while he 'danced' around in his surroundings. Thankfully, the cave was big enough for him to do the weird set of movements he was doing.

(5 Minutes Later)

Blade, who was following the guidance of the body art, had beads of sweat all over his body as his breathing was ragged and had now long stopped the breathing technique that he had previously followed. Blade felt his whole body weaken as soon after, he dropped to his knees.

"Huh?"

Blade voiced out confusedly in between his ragged breathing. Sweat covered most of his body, causing the dirt to stick to his skin.

{Blade, do you think practicing a Supreme level technique is truly an easy thing. No matter how one looks at it, your strength compared to others will be unbelievable, but the process to get it wouldn't be easy at all. If it was like this, things like bloodline talent would be unnecessary}

Hearing the system's words, Blade nodded his head in understanding before he then sat in a meditative state and began following the breathing scripture of the body art.

He did not mind how long it took, no matter what, he'll get his revenge, and then go on to become eternal!
