Rise of the void prince

"Am I going to die" He thought as he looked at the sky that was dyed red. Raindrops fell on his body which was covered with blood and injuries which looked horrifying. He looked around to see mountains of human corpses. Whether it was strangers or allies, he felt sorrowful as humanity was going to be extinct and he wasn't able to stop it. He felt his consciousness was leaving his body as he couldn't keep his eyes open for much longer. He closed his eyes as his heartbeat rang slower and slower. The only thing valuable on his body that hasn't been broken to pieces seemed to be the silvery, white ring that was adorned on his right hand's middle finger. As his heart was about to stop beating, white light started to appear around him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter length-1000~3000 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Chapter-15

As Zhou Li arrived at his room, he looked at the time and saw that it was. As he nearing his bed, he felt dizzy and used the bed as a holder then sat on it.

"Master, rest for half an hour before logging into the game"

"Master used too much mental energy"

After Zhou Li rested for half an hour,

'Chunhua, log me into the game"

He said as he lay on the bed. When you play Sanctuary, your body would be sleeping so you would not lose any sleep.

Zhou Li closed his eyes and when he opened them, he was in the starting village in the game. Zhou Li looked at his health and saw that he was half health. Though he was able to kill the alpha faster with a bit more aggression, it was not without its cons. He had taken a bit of damage as well which was half his health. There were many ways of healing in the game. One way would be waiting near a blessed fountain which would heal both mp and hp at an accelerated rate. There was once a saying that these fountains were blessed by the goddess of light. One of the other ways would be being healed by a priest but that was a profession that would not unlock till level 10 when a player reaches the cities. For now, Zhou Li wanted to maximize the time more than anything so he just gulped two low-level health potions and checked his inventory.

Killing an alpha was not without its rewards. He had received an upgrade but it was not a sword but rather a spear. It was fine as he was proficient in all weapons including hands to hands from his previous life. In all of the weapons he used, the weapons he was most proficient in were the sword and the spear. So, a spear would be useful as well.

"Well I can't use this yet"

Though he got a lot of exp, he was only at the start of level 4. He also gained a common level 4 iron chestplate which he could use and a level 3 iron boots. He also gained the head of the alpha which was not only a decoration item but also could be used in some crafting. Heads were something that could be dropped by only alphas and Zhou Li knew just the place where he could use it. The rarities of the weapons and items were common, uncommon, rare, epic, legend, mythic, demigod, and god. The alpha also gave multiplied drops for the items such as the pelt and things of the sort. With that, over 2 thirds of the needed pelt was gotten.

"Hello master"

"Hello Chunhua"

He said hello to the little fairy that was sitting on his shoulder who was pouting that he wasn't greeting her first but looking at his new spear and drops he had gotten from the alpha.

After allocating his stat points, he walked towards the forest to hunt more wolves to finish the quest. With the added stat points, hunting the wolves was now like squashing ants. Inside the forest, after hunting the wolves, he also found iron nodes and mined them for the quest of the blacksmith. But they were not enough to finish the blacksmith's quest.

"I need to go to the hills in the north but I will be able to get to reputation level 3 today"

After getting back to the village, Zhou Li bought a teleportation stone from the village chief which cost almost all the fortune he had accumulated. Though he felt that it was a waste because he couldn't use it after level 10, it was something he needed to do the quests faster so he gritted his teeth and bought it. The teleportation stone was something you could use when you were out of fighting range.

Zhou Li then handed in all the wolf pelts to the leatherworker.

"Young adventurer, you have done so much for me"

"It's fine"

Zhou Li finished the leatherworker quest which was the most tedious quest in the starting village. The rest of the quests would be much better than killing wolves over and over again. The only reason why he hunted wolves was to maximize efficiency because of the number of pelts they dropped. With this quest done, the other quests would be flowing smoothly he thought.

Zhou Li bought what was needed for the trip with the renewed money he got from the quests of the leatherworker and then traveled to the mountains in the north to do some quests. On the rocky mountains, Zhou LI saw mountain goats. These were nasty creatures as they had knockback and you would have to be careful not to be knocked off if one was fighting near an edge. There were some places that you needed to climb and Zhou Li used the climbing picks he bought to go over these places. These mountain goats had levels ranging from 7-10. Zhou Li killed those who he had come across on the way while minding the terrain.

"This should be the place if my memory serves right"

Zhou Li entered a cave that had dim light and used the torch to light it up. As he was walking through the cave, he kept knocking on the cave walls lightly as if to hear something as he closed his eyes.

"HISSS"

He suddenly stopped and sliced at the snake that was approaching in half. There were snakes inside these caves which had levels ranging from 6 to 9. If a player was not careful, they would be bitten and would have dot damage for some time. There were toxin-resistant potions(level 1) inside the village and Zhou Li bought some but it was not for these small fries but for the big one.

"It should be here"

Zhou Li said as he punched the wall where he stopped. The wall started to crack and reveal an entrance to sunlight shining upon some greenery but in the middle was a huge creature that was coiled in a circle.

"I won't probably be able to sneak attack him anyways"

As Zhou Li said and went inside the entrance he made, with the last drop of the pebble of the cracked entrance, the huge snake opened its reptilian eyes.
