At the battle arena

Not long after an announcer came up on the center stage. ''Ladies and Gentlemen, today we are here for the battle to decide the strongest amongst the younger generation of Fire Torch City''

''Which amongst these brave youngsters will become the champion'' The crowd cheered like there was no tomorrow since it was not every day they could watch these geniuses battle. ''The first stage is called guard your post, in the first stage the participants have to guard their arena for one hour to pass to the next stage of the tounament. Only fifty people will be able to pass on to the next stage''

All the one thousand participants got ready to choose an arena to conquer. Most of the participants were rogue cultivators with no backing, a small part belonged to the minor clans, and an even smaller part was made up of the three great clans of Fire Torch City.

''Now our dear participants choose your arena and defend as if your life depends on it'' Cyrus stood still and waited to see how the other participants would do. ''Let me be the first one to make a move''

A red-dressed man about eighteen years old walked to the closest arena from him. Seeing the red-dressed man a few more participants started moving toward the closest arena from them.

''Hahahaha, I Vincent Grey will accept any challenge, so come and fight'' A tall man standing six point five feet wearing black martial attire he had a large build filled with muscle, large eyes, and a big nose. He looked like he was thirty years old or an ox but since he could participate in this tournament he had to be less than twenty years old.

''Hahahaha, I will not be outdone by a musclehead that only knows how to punch'' A thin man wearing white martial attire with silver lines looked very extravagant the man looked very cunning. He held a thin sword as he walked up to the close by arena.

''It seems like two heirs have already appeared''

''Heir Vincent will definitely win he has the strongest martial prowess''

''No, Heir Klaus has better technique''

''That ox will never triumph over Heir Klaus''

''That snake will never defeat Heir Vincent''

While the fans of the two heirs were arguing another said. ''You are all forgetting Miss Liz the most outstanding genius of our city who is talented in both martial arts and alchemy, reaching both the initial stage of the Crytal Core realm and becoming a three-star alchemist at the mere age of sixteen. I heard that even the top academies in the Capital want to recruit her.

Everyone who heard him was in awe as the Capital was the dream destination of all cultivators as it means a ticket to the Azar empire.

After forty-five minutes more than half of the arena was conquered by a contester, after seeing that Cyrus decided to make a move as there were almost no more arenas left. While walking towards his chosen arena a girl wearing a white outfit seemed to choose the same arena as him.

The girl in white was a step faster than Cyrus and ascended the arena holding a white fan. ''Hello, beautiful lady how can I help you'' With a single swing a mighty gust of wind assaulted the unlucky contestant, he did not even have a chance to make a move as the girl in white did not seem into small talk.

Seeing this Cyrus's eyes brightened as he felt the power behind the attack and knew that she was a worthy opponent, knowing this made his blood of Cyrus boil. 'I found a worthy opponent' Thought Cyrus.

Cyrus took his spear from his back and walked up the steps to the arena. The girl in white noticed Cyrus and looked at him curiously wondering what such a young kid wanted to do here.

'Does he want to challenge me?'' Thought the girl in white. Cyrus did not start any small talk and started attacking as soon as he was in range.

''Boom''

An aura at the initial stage of the Crytal Core realm began to emit from Cyrus as he attacked the girl in white. 'Thrust of the great general' Cyrus used the only technique he knew to finish this battle as quickly as possible.

The pupils of the girl in white constricted, she never expected Cyrus to be so powerful. The girl in white dodged the attack with a single swift movement and appeared on the right side of Cyrus and waved her fan.

A wind blade shot straight at Cyrus with incredible speed. ''Swoosh'' Cyrus looked at the wind blade and decided to attack instead of dodge. 'Second thrust of the great general' Cyrus lowered his stance and. ''Boom'' The wind blade got decimated and a beam of spear qi shot right at the girl in white.

''Look it is Heir Liz''

''Yes, she seems to be fighting a little kid''

''That kid is unbelievably strong''

The spectators started noticing the fight between Cyrus and the Heir of house Sodlick. Cyrus and Heir Liz fought for a couple of minutes but could not decide who had the advantage in this battle.

''You are quite strong but now strong enough'' Said Heir Liz as she started performing a dance in a circle with her fan. 'Dance of the wind maiden' A lot of wind energy started gathering around the fan of Heir Liz the more she moved in the circle. ''This will be my final attack, so be careful'' Said Heir Liz with a solemn face.

Out of nowhere, Cyrus started to smile. William who stood in the crowd watching the battle of Cyrus became shocked as this was the first time he has seen Cyrus smile the same for the rest of the idiot squad they could not believe their eyes. 'I did not know the kid could smile like that' Thought William with a happy smile

Heir Liz got distracted for a second as Cyrus became very handsome as he smiled with his innocent face. even though she got distracted she did not lose control of her technique.

While smiling Cyrus held his spear and. ''Bzz''

The real show was about to start now.
