3 CHAPTER 2

The vehicle flew through the packed streets of Kalea City, the city where Gideon lived. They eventually reached their destination which looked like a train station.

There, it was packed with a bunch of people who were either leaving or arriving. Military man walked to a section of the station with Gideon following, that had the military logo on it.

Then they were ushered toward a place that was filled with people the same age as Gideon who glanced at them briefly before looking at the train they would be riding on.

The train was at least a 100 meters in length with multiple sections. It was floating and had some very heavy armour that was made of a very tough metal called orichalcum that was ten times tougher than tungsten but lighter.

In the crowd of students, people were talking to each other and interacting before suddenly, the doors of the train opened, and they were ushered into the train.

the interior of the train was quite large, with four seats on each side, air conditioning, perfect lighting, comfy chairs, and very tough windows.

After everyone had taken their seats, a mechanical voice was heard.

"Good day everyone, today's stop will be the International Military Academy and you will arrive there in 7 hours." Immediately the voice finished, the train started to moving.

After some time, the train seemed to pass a semi translucent barrier. This is the city's protective array, it is a powerful barrier that keeps Astral beasts out of cities.

Gideon looked out the window for sometime as the passed by the landscape in a blue, and eventually, he fell asleep.

*BOOM*

Gideon was startled awake by a loud explosion that caused the entire train to shake. He looked outside and what he saw sent a chill down his spine.

A robed figure could be seen floating in the air with a black energy around it. If one looked closely, they would be able to see skeletal arms and feet. It was a litch, a sacred level astral beast.

There were basic, intermediate, advanced, rare, extraordinary, sacred, mythical, legendary, divine, catastrophic, and extinction level monsters.

Gideon loked outside the window and saw blue energy beams firing out of the Marge cannons on the top of the train, but when they reached the litch, the dark energy surrounding it formed a barrier, and when the beams hit it, they suddenly got cancelled.

Everyone on the train was panicking, even the military men who had gotten up to fight it. But just as they stood up, a large amount of the dark energy from the litch converged around it before shooting out on top of the train. Soon, the energy began to corrode the top of it and soon, the top of the train was completely gone.

The students began to scream and some casted spells to protect themselves, but it was futile. The energy began to attack the students, and wen they were touched by it, they seemed to get older and older before turning into dust, inciting more panic from them.

Gideon was also panicking and was trying to figure out a way out of this situation. But then suddenly, the litch fired a ball made of the dark energy at the base of the train, right where Gideon was.

'Oh Shi-'

*BOOM*

The base of the train exploded violently and Gideon was flung out of the train and the train was derailed.

Gideon felt his body become weightless and the wind whistled it his ears. He opened his eyes and saw that he was in the air moving farther and farther away from the train.

He looked towards the ground and saw that he was approaching it very fast.

'Is this it? Is this how I die?' Were Gideon's last thoughts before he impacted the ground and his vision went black.

Meanwhile, just after he hit the ground, a small spatial tear appeared above him, and a green bead fell out of it and coincidentally landed on his head.

The bead then seemed to melt and get absorbed into his head.

[Ding, host has been found, initiating synchronization process] A voice, though Gideon couldn't hear it, sounded in his head.

[Ding, Synchronization complete, successfully binded with host]

[Warning! Host is in critical condition, initiating emergency healing process]

Immediately the voice said that, the wounds on Gideon's body began to heal at an alarming rate. His broken bones mended themselves, his destroyed veins reattached themselves, his torn and ripped skin regenerated, and all the injuries he sustained were healed in just 20 seconds.

[Ding, host is now in a stable condition, estimated time of awakening. 2 hours.] The voice sounded again before going quiet.

(Authors note: The reason Gideon didn't die instantly was because even though he ha a weak magic affinity, his body was still at least 4 times tougher than an average human.)
