"You little pests," Valerian growled as he took the heel of his shoes and pressed it on the man's face. He applied just enough pressure with the sharp heel, emphasizing his dominance, while his eyes bore into theirs with an icy intensity.

The cold night air clung to the shadows, accentuating the stark contrast between the illuminated patch of ground where Valerian stood and the darkness that enveloped the rest of the narrow space.
