26 CHAPTER 26: Cure For The Cursed

'Everything seems to make sense now, my dragon abilities, Alice acting weird, but this is just too much you know.'

"I know it's difficult but it's the truth. We finished the objective to find Aeverie, do you want to check out the xp points." She appealed.

'Remind me later.' I grumbled in my head.

Someone disturbed me when I was having a chat with the system.

A familiar voice pulled me back from my thoughts.

"Are you doing okay?" Layla inquired.

I turned around with an expression in need of pitying.

"I just need a hug."

She sighed in relief. "I was afraid you where going to be hurting after hearing everything about your past, and just leaving us like that made me worry, I'm happy that you are okay."

She hugged me tightly and I did the same.

"Although I'm in an emotional wreck, I'm relieved now that I know the truth, and I'm glad I met the real Alice, or should I say Aeverie."

She just nodded in my chest.

She reluctantly pulled away from the hug.

We walked back to Aeverie.

"They is not much I can say but thank you for protecting me, I'm very grateful for everything.

Aeverie smiled lightly. " Don't worry about it, I was just keeping a promise I made to a friend."

She stepped forward and caressed my face

"It's weird, for me it's like I slept yesterday when you where a baby and woke up the next day to find you all grown up."

"That does sounds freaky, so do we call you Aeverie or Alice?"

"I named my clone Alice so that it will be easy for her to live here with a common name, but you can call me with whatever name you are comfortable with. "

"Okay Aeverie, I have a question for you."

Her eyes drilling with curiosity she nodded.

"Is it possible to go back to our world."

"I'm afraid not, The relic I used doesn't work like normal teleportation spells, it opens any dimensional gates and access any world that exist. if we use it again it will lead us to some world that we didn't even want to go. I just blindly entered the dimensional circle without knowing what I will find."

"Okay just one last question, do you know where the dragon blade is?"

Aeverie raised a questioning eyebrow. "How did you know it was in your word."

"I promise to tell you another time."

She sighed. "When I entered inside the circle I felt something overwhelming behind us before everything went blank. I'm guessing the dragon blade was thrown by your father so you could use it, I don't know the exact location where it fell but it's somewhere in the forest."

I cursed in my head. "It's gonna be a pain to try and find it."

"I'm sorry we got to reunite in a bad way, but as I said before, I must start preparations so you can. Inherit my power."

"I just got to see the person who made it possible for me to survive this long, although some of your methods did break my heart. I don't want it to end this way."

"I'm afraid not, the spell is going to kill me eventually, so if I'm going to die, I want you to take my power and use it however you like, they is more danger coming on your way, please allow me to fulfill this last wish of mine."

Silence filled the room, Thinking about the person who saved my life countless times just dying like that filled my heart with rage and pain.

"Wait! Layla has the light element, she can at least try to save you."

"She can use Magic?? how?" Aeverie exclaimed

I just smiled and filled her with everything that's been going on in this world.

"That is really strange it's like your world is evolving, or mybe the relic I used is effecting your realm. Anyway in order to reverse the curse you need to have a spell called cure for the cursed."

"Magic is all new to me, the only thing I can do is heal, I don't know about removing curses."

"Healing magic can't cure curses, not to worry I happen to have picked the spell somewhere in hopes of finding someone with this element and I guess my luck paid off."

A book with a golded bird design appeard out of no where.

"All you have to do is imagine yourself absorbing the power inside the book."

Layla did as she was told, the book vanished and some golden sparks seemed to be entering her body.

Her eyes widened. "I feel like I have gained strength."

"It's because you have. Now take this"

She handed Layla a necklace wich had a green-ish crystal.

"This will increase your mana pool, now all you need to do is imagine trying to remove the white circle implanted in my body. the stronger the imagination the high success rate in casting the spell you want, and also emotions play a major role in using magic, they can make magic stronger than ever."

she ripped her dress on the left side of her stomach and revealed a white circle, the circle grew white vein like patterns that was spreading in her body.

she lied on the floor as Layla kneeled and outstretched her hands forward, the circle gleamed as it seemed to be getting absorbed by her, Layla's expression changed, she kept flinching then she suddenly stopped."

"I'm sorry the spell is difficulty." She spoke in high breaths.

"Don't worry about many things ,your mind must be clear as the day, removing curses is hard, specially for a novice but I believe that you can do it, neither should you. Calling the spell out loud may help you cast it easily without effort."

Layla nodded taking the advises Aeverie was giving her. Determination was written in her face as she called out the spell, the circle glowed with strong intensity. Aeverie grunted in pain, the vein like patterns started disappearing. She released a low scream as the patterns shrinked inside the white circle which then disappeared afterwards. As the circle vanished Layla fell on the floor breathless and Aeverie fainted.

I checked on Layla if she was okay and Aeverie's pulse was still racing, I flashed a blissful smile.

5 hours Later....
