My Name is Liana Davies

"You what?!" Vander and Preston both gasped.

Liana laughed.

"Didn't you boys know?"

"Know what?" Preston asked.

"Liana, what did you do?" her twin followed.

"Oh, it was a long time ago. We were still back in Salencia when it happened."

"When what happened, sister?"

"I slept with the Crown Prince of Vurstan."

Both men choked.

"What?!" Vander nearly screeched.

"Oh, please. It was a genius idea."

Her twin looked at her in horror.

"Why?" Preston asked.

"To distract him."

"From?"

"Oh, I don't remember any longer. But trust me, all I had to do was give Crown Prince Leo five minutes of my time. It wasn't too difficult."

"Well who knew," Preston snarled. "You're just a royal whore."

Her weapon crackled as fury flared in her eyes.

"Take. That. Back," she gritted out.

"No, I don't think it will. Seeing as... it's true."

Using Gwanydd, Liana shot a bolt of lightning straight at him. The High Governor ducked out of the way.

"You know nothing," she snapped.

"Then, enlighten me."

"No, I'd rather see you gone."

"Well, unfortunately for you, I'm not going anywhere."

"Pity. You know, just because we were supposed to be betrothed doesn't mean you get to tell me what to do."

Both men are shocked once again.

"What? Since when?"

"It was a long time ago, Vander. Back when we were all ten or something like that. Anyways, how do you know about that, Liana?"

"What? Just because I wasn't told about the whole plan doesn't mean I didn't have ways of finding out."

Preston gave her a serious look. She sighed.

"Harmon told me, warned me is more like."

"He always did look out for his little sister."

"Wait..." Vander cut in finally. "But you said you weren't loved or cared about by our family."

Liana scoffed.

"If that was really true, why would I go meet Harmon? I could've just stolen Gwanydd from the Relic Vault. Teleported in and out. Simple. But no, I went and talked with our big brother."

"Liana, sister, what are you up to?"

"Nothing, save for freeing Sonic from the clutches of the Council of Kings."

"Really?"

"Yes, of course."

Vander gave her a disbelieving look, but shook his head and walked away. Preston followed him into Erwoe. Soon, the amassed crowd began to disperse. Mikhail walked up to her.

She looked at him and asked, "How much did you hear?"

"All of it."

"Then why didn't you tell Preston everything? Like how I orchestrated the whole invasion of Sonic and messed with my twin brother's memories? Because it seems like neither one knows."

"That's the because they don't."

"I thought you were supposed to be his spy? Why not tattle the whole of it to Preston?"

"I am a spy for Preston. But he doesn't have to know how you and the Crown Prince and the King collaborated on the war on Sonic. His loyalties are to the King. I think it's best if he sees his king in a goof light, don't you?"

Liana eyes Mikhail warily, but agreed. "Yes, I would say so. So, for now, it's between us?"

"Yes, it's between us."

"Then I guess I might as well tell you something, since you know everything else."

"What is it?"

"As I'm sure you heard, in two weeks, my father will suddenly pull his men from Sonic. But it will be whether or not I've accomplished my mission. If the mages don't stand behind me to fight the Mainlanders off, then he'll still pull his men. Then, everyone will know it was a set-up and that my true allegiance is still to Salencia."

"So what will you do if it does all go wrong?"

'I'll flee the island. Go home, maybe. But they're mages. They can use magic to find me wherever I am. So, I'll be screwed because the will always be able to find me."

Mikhail ran a hand through his hair.

"Should it come to that, know that I can help you disappear. If you need me, I will find you."

Gratitude flickered across her face.

"Thank you, Mikhail."

He nodded in return.

"I should go. There's things I have to do," Liana said.

"of course. Though, fair warning, Preston will have me watching you."

"I understand."

Then, Mikhail walked off towards Aeolia. Liana headed inside the school.

"Raevyn?"

"Oh! Daisy, I didn't see you there. How are you?"

"Uh, good. Raevyn, you don't look like... you."

"Oh, that's because she was a weak mage-in-training. Weak enough that she died after training too much and pushing herself too hard."

"Wha, what?"

"My name is Liana Davies. I'm the Headmaster's sister."

Daisy's eyes widened.

"I died on the battlefield two years ago. For some reason, when Raevyn died, I took her place, literally. Perhaps being on top of the crossroads of four different and powerful ley lines can make reincarnation happen. Who knows?"

She shrugged nonchalantly.

"So Raevyn's dead?"

Liana nodded.

"I'm afraid so. Now, if you'll excuse me, Dais, I have some important matters to attend to."

Then, Liana walked away to the sounds of Daisy's sobs. She went to go find her brother and Preston. She found them in the Council Room. When Liana entered, both men turned to look at her.

"What?"

Then, she saw a dark shadow behind them and screamed.
