2 The long anticipated return

"Are you joking Grodrir? That's a forbidden ritual. It will weaken the veil between realms" Reghys shook her head frantically. She knew how to perform the ritual but she also knew the aftermath of the ritual.

The Ritual of Depriortia would weaken the veil between the realms which would let the otherworldly creatures squeeze into their world. Previously, Don and Knight were able to weaken the veil and squeeze into this world. Those two were becoming powerful each passing day. It was fortunate that Don and Knight had no ill intention but she could not be sure about the other otherworldly creatures.

"Do I look like I'm joking or giving a damn about the pathetic scums living in this world?" Grodrir growled as a puff of hot smoke rushed out of his nostrils.

"If you mess this up, you know what I can do to your child"

The flame of anger was burning hotter and hotter inside her. Every time he threatened her child, she wanted to transform into her full dragon form and make him bleed.

"That's your child too"

Grodrir laughed out loud after hearing Reghys,

"Don't play that card with me Reghys. I'm not one of your new friends. I'm not weak like them to fall for these sentiment crap"

The other dragons surrounding Reghys also chuckled.

"Hahaha"

Suddenly Reghys burst into laughter as the other dragons quickly shut their mouths in surprise. She was definitely not in the position to laugh yet she did. Grodrir frowned,

"Something funny?" Grodrir asked,

"You said my friends are weak" she continued to laugh,

"Disgraceful! Humph'' Grodrir snicked. A flash of anger and disgust could be seen deep within his eyes. He belonged to an ancient order of dragons who loathed all the beings except dragons. Even within dragons, they hated knowledge-seeking dragons such as Reghys. In simple words, Grodrir and his buddies were extreme racists.

"Disgraceful is what will happen when my friends find me. Believe me, they will. You should pray the one who finds me isn't Don or Knight"

Bang!

Grodri couldn't take it anymore as he punched Reghys in the gut. She spurted out blood while the tree she's been tied to shuddered because of the force.

"No one can find you and even if they did, I will tear them to pieces with my own hands. I will let you watch them suffer"

Regardless of Grodrir's threatening words, Reghys stayed firm without showing any signs of fear in her eyes. As far as she was concerned, if she could buy herself some time, hopefully, Knight or Don would find her.

"You gonna make them suffer? You have no idea about them" she spit a mouth full of blood before talking,

"They are the most vicious, ruthless, and cruel beings I have ever seen Grodrir. You like a baby in front of them. You still have time to escape before they find me and rip you and your buddies to pieces"

"Grodrir, she's riling you up and stalling"

Suddenly one of the dragons behind Grodrir spoke. Reghys cursed the dragon in her mind. The dumb looking gray dragon used his brain to figure out her plan. Soon, the anger within Grodrir's eyes disappeared. Instead, a cold murderous intent emerged after hearing the grey dragon.

Grodrir slowly stepped towards Reghys. His face was so close to her as she could feel the heat radiated from his scales. He was just a few inches away from her face.

"I'm sick of your games. I can't kill you until you perform the ritual but I can still rip off one of your limbs"

Reghyst squirmed, feeling Grodrir's tight hold around her right arm.

"GRRR!" She growled. Little by little, Grodrir increased the force, pulling her arm towards him. He was going to rip her arm off. There was no shred of mercy in his eyes.

ROAR!

Suddenly a thunderous roar echoed through the forest. The dragons were startled as they almost bounced back. Grodri immediately turned back, letting go of her hand. Reghys breathed heavily. Her hand ached except she didn't show any expressions of pain on her face. Rather, she smiled. It was a smug smile.

"I told you they will find me" Reghys snickered,

"Find whoever that is and bring me the head" Grodrir growled, ordering his lackeys. As they were just about to flap their wings to take off, a bright light flashed across their eyes. The light made them momentarily close their eyes. When they opened, they saw a majestic white lion with wings standing several meters away from them. The lion was nothing like they had seen before. It was almost 8ft tall with a gigantic body size.

"Knight" Although she was hoping for one of them to find her using her blood trail, still her eyes watered when she saw Knight.

Knight looked at Reghys tied up to the tree with blood dripping down from the corners of her mouth. For a moment, he hid the killing intent and nodded at Reghys, wordlessly telling her that everything would be alright.

Then, his gaze turned at the dragons before him.

Due to his anger, Knight ignored the glistening piece of stone in Godrir's hand. His mind was formulating a battle plan as the dragons prepared themselves for a battle.

In terms of cultivation, Knight was at low-level Sun Realm which equates his power to almost peak Heavenly level. Grodrir was at Peak Heavenly level. Along with his lackeys who were at the Mid Heavenly level, Grodrir's paused a threat to Knight.

However, Knight didn't come alone. He brought backup too.

"What are you idiots waiting for? Break that lion for me!" Grodrir roared as loud as he could. His thunderous roar made the ground tremble. The other dragons wanted no time as they leaped at Knight with their razor sharp teeth baring.

Boom!

With a flick of his wrist, Knight took out a smoke bomb and pressed it under his feet. The smoke exploded with a loud bang before the thick smoke enveloped the area.

The dragons were stunned by the sudden smoke. Their movements became disorderly. Knight quickly used this moment of distraction. He leaped at one of the dragons, covering his hands with purple hell's flame.

Boom!

Another exploding sound reverberated through the forest. This time, it wasn't a smoke bomb. Rather, a blood-red mist appeared amidst the white smoke.

"GRRRRRR!" followed by the exploding sound, a loud cry of roar sounded except the growling sound trailed away quickly.

Grodrir was stunned by the show of power. From the distance, he saw what happened to the dragon. The Lion leaped at the dragon while the dragon was confused by the white smoke, then the Lion swung its hand with enough force to break the dragon's spine. The purple fire enveloping the lion's hand blasted the head the very next moment. Everything happened lightning quick.

As Grodrir was focused on the battle, Reghys quickly transformed into her true form. The ropes that tied her immediately got ripped off along with the tree.

"AH!" Reghys sucker punched Grodrir in the back of his neck. He let out a cry before stumbling forward. Out of balance, Grodrir dropped the piece of the dragon stone.

He immediately tried to take it back but before even he could pick himself up, Knight leaped at him and landed right on his back.

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

The hot blood splashed on Reghys's face when Knight plunged his teeth deep into Grodrir's back. Grodrir's scream of agony was ear piercing.

The other dragons didn't expect Knight would suddenly change his target and leap at Grodrir.

"DIE!"

As the dragons were not having enough trouble, they heard another battle cry. One of the dragons was looking around with a confused face. Out of nowhere, Arrora landed straight on the dragon's back. Wasting no time, she plunged her sword straight through the dragon's head. She used all of her power to stab the dragon. Fortunately for her, she learned about the anatomy of dragons from Reghys. Therefore, she knew where to plunge her sword to take its life with minimum effort.

Just like that, two of the dragons lost their lives. Gray lurked in the shadows of the forest and monitored the battle. She wanted to get a piece of the action but Knight gave her a strict order not to engage the dragons.

"GET OFF OF ME! ARGH!" Grodrir tried to shake Knight off of his body but Reghyst quickly bit his scaly wings, preventing Grodrir from shaking his body. He yet again cried in agony. Knight knew about the dragon's breath, hence, he didn't attack Grodrir from the front.

After killing a dragon, Arrora leaped toward another one. In the mid-air, she threw yet another smoke bomb at the dragon. At the same time, Grodrir stomped the ground to shake Knight off of his body and Reghys off of his wings,

Grodrir still couldn't believe how the situation turned against him. One moment, he was threatening Reghys with his lackey, and the next moment, he was being attacked by the lion. Moreover, the lion and the girl attacking the other dragons seemed extremely trained. In the corner of his eyes, he could see his lackeys having a hard time dealing with the girl as she was jumping between them throwing smoke bombs to prevent the dragons from seeing her clearly.

Grodrir wanted to help his lackeys so they would help him defeat Reghys and the Lion except for the lion never budging an inch away from his back. He could feel Lion's teeth sinking deeper and deeper into his back.

"ARGHHHH" Grodrir roared in overwhelming fury. He had never wanted to use the spell but they gave him no choice.

"RELINDO!"

Reghys heard the thunderous shout of Grodrir,

"MOVE!" Reghys immediately shouted at Knight. Her shout turned into a sonic wave that blasted Knight off of Godrir's body.

Knight was thrown off balance. In the mid-air, Knight saw Grodrir's body turn redder and redder before he exploded with a loud bang.

A few minutes later, the white smoke that came from the smoke bombs finally faded away. Arrora could be seen resting on the body of a dragon with her sword. Her white robes and face were painted red with dragon blood. She looked terrifying in Gray's eyes.

Both Knight and Reghys transformed themselves into their human forms. Reghys picked up the glistening stone while Knight just stared at her. Because of his human form, Reghys could clearly see the concerned look on his face. He was obviously worried which warmed her heart because the dragon she loved didnt flinch an eye when he tortured her and was ready to kill her child. She didn't know Knight or anyone in Everlight as long as she knew Grodrir yet they risked their lives to save her. Regardless of the race, they were her family. Looking directly into his eyes, Reghys said,

"Took you long enough"
