"They all sound interesting and it seems they can also be leveled up," Khan muttered beneath his breath.

"And what do those question marks mean?" Khan asked with a raised eyebrow.

[It means they're still other skills but you're yet to access them due to your current low level.]

Khan immediately moved towards the other tabs.

[Shop] {Locked, unlock at Level 10}

"And the shop too has not been unlocked."

[It will be unlocked at Level 10.]

[Quests] {No active quests present}

"Ok, deal. Let's help each other out..." Khan said, finally agreeing. About him reaching his limit, he was also well aware, and due to strange reasons, he couldn't cultivate like the others. If he wanted to improve himself and fulfill the goals he just made for himself, then the system was the only viable option he had.

[Well, we're already on the same page in the first place since I've bonded with you. But still, I'll take your deal to mean full cooperation.]

"Ok. Now I have to get out of here..." Khan mumbled, looking at the completely dark area and the crimson-colored moon that was peeking from the horizon.

Directing his attention back to his body, he noticed his suit had been completely reduced to rags and all his equipment smashed to pieces.

"Now that I think of it, how come I'm standing perfectly fine..." Khan asked, finally comprehending the strange healthiness.

[My fusion with you solved all the issues including the bloating feeling due to the serums you take.] The panel appeared, to which Khan gave a satisfied nod.

"Well, time to head back..." He could remember the captain saying the spaceship was just three or so kilometers to the east, making him turn towards the place.

"Activate Nanorunic Eyes..." Khan commanded as the sight around him suddenly changed.

The darkness around the place became even darker, while all the trees around him glowed a red color...

"So this is thermoreception?" Khan asked with a raised eyebrow. Not only could he see farther distance than his regular eyes could.

He could also see through lurking red halos around the trees, depicting them to be small abyssal creatures that his normal eyes would have failed to notice but now they were just too glaring.

Taking another glance at the crimson moon that was slowly appearing, Khan took a deep breath before getting in a running position...

"Activate Dash..." Khan pushed off the ground as the wind howled, his body seemingly tearing through the air creating howling sounds in his wake.

The abyssal creatures trying to sneak attack him were all immediately left in the dust as Khan blitzed forward with twice his normal speed, still able to avoid disorientation due to his Nanorunic Eyes that captured everything.

10 minutes later...

The gigantic spaceship carefully hid itself among the trees and darkness of the surrounding area, perfectly blending in due to its dark painted crystalline obsidian black covering.

An ordinary human being or abyssal creature would have completely been unable to even detect its presence, seeing it to be a weirdly shaped gigantic rock but with the Nanorunic Eyes.

Khan already picked up on the heat waves, easily seeing its true form.

Arriving at the small entrance, a blue wave of light scanned him up and down.

"A Familiar wave has been discovered. Permitting entry," the AI voice rang out as the door slowly opened and Khan took in a deep breath of the fresh air, the opposite of the putrid air of the wild.

Immediately heading towards the Pilot room, Khan arrived before the thousands of controls he immediately got to work.

[You can pilot a spaceship? I thought you were just a soldier...] The panel appeared, but Khan ignored it.

Pressing a hundred or so buttons before pushing the controller forward. The engine of the spaceship immediately roared to life as it slowly ascended higher and higher into the air.

Slamming down his hands on the glaring red button in the middle of the controls, the spaceship immediately blitzed forward with speed, moving twice as fast as sound.

"Route Identified. Heading back to Suicides City Port. Would you like auto driving or choose to pilot yourself..." The voice rang out as Khan clicked on the Auto-pilot button.

"You have chosen Auto-pilot mode. It will take 2 hours to arrive at your destination..."

Khan breathed out a sigh of relief before moving away from the control room and heading towards the hall.

Looking at the seven empty seats, Khan's emotionless eyes drifted past it when he suddenly picked up a small card on one of the seats.

Picking it up, it reads, I'll be coming soon.

Khan raised an eyebrow before turning to the other side of the card where the picture of a beautiful lady and a young girl of about five years old could be seen.

He looked at the card for some seconds before dipping it into his pocket.

[I'm really sorry my defense protocol killed your companions...]

"I don't have companions. I'm a death soldier. There's only mission success then me...." Khan snapped, growling at those words. This was the first time he had to say that twice on the same day.

[So you failed the mission since I've already fused with you. So what will you do now?]

Khan's eyes narrowed before they relaxed back.

"I'll quit..."

[Great. So will you send a letter of retirement or...]

"Are you dumb?"

[What?]

"I said I'm a death soldier. The only way to quit is death! I would have died from failing this mission if not for your abnormality. No death Soldier retires. We all complete missions till the end and the only way to quit is to die trying to complete a mission. Just like all of them..." Khan explained, pointing to the empty seats.

[Oh, I never thought it was so complicated...]

"But right now I'm alive. And I'm sure sooner or later they'll pick up on that. I have to move out of the city to one of the higher-ranked cities. That's my next phase of plan..."

[I've downloaded the information of this world from the memories of those who died to my defense protocol and it says around 70% of this world is completely infested with abyssal creatures which I'm thinking you're calling the wild.

The Human settlement occupies the remaining 30%, separated from the wild by the great barricade. It has been divided into five cities, the further away from the great Barricade, the more advanced and the safer the city is.

[A/N: The cities rival an entire continent in size.]

"Thanks for the grab..." Khan said.

[So out of the five cities. Yours is the Suicide City which is the closest to the wild and also the less safest with the poorest conditions. It's basically the slum of the entire human settlement.]

"Can you draw me a map of the Human settlement?" Khan asked, and a holographic image appeared in his head, the map of the Human settlement with the five cities perfectly labeled and his location specified.

"Hmmm, then God's Island it is..." Khan muttered making his final decision of where he'll be hiding.
