15 The Dedication to Become Stronger

I woke up early on Saturday morning, knowing that today was going to be a productive day. I decided to take a break from my usual routine and jog in the park, where I could be surrounded by nature and fresh air. The park was the only area in the city that was free from artificial technology, so it was the perfect place to escape the chaos of modern life.

Ever since I received my monthly allowance, I've been working hard on my aura control training. I want to master it and be the best. I even quit my part-time job just to focus on it.

As I ran through the peaceful park, I activated my retinal projector to catch up on the latest news. "Hmm, let's see what's happening in the world today," I said to myself. And, as expected, the headlines were filled with chaos and destruction caused by the ancient god extremists.

I couldn't help but sigh. "When will there be peace in our world?" I muttered to myself. It's like every time we take one step forward, something like this happens and we take two steps back.

But, despite the news, I felt more determined to continue my training. I won't let these extremists take away our peace. No way. With every passing day, my aura control gets stronger and my resolve gets firmer.

"Hey there, you're looking fit," a voice interrupted my thoughts.

As I jogged, I turned around and spotted my friend Sarah, who was working as an apprentice in the spirit laboratory. She had caught up with me and was now jogging beside me.

"Thanks, Sarah. I'm just trying to keep up with my aura control training," I replied.

"Oh, that's right. How's it going?" she asked.

"I've been making progress. My aura is becoming stronger and more stable," I said proudly.

"That's amazing! You'll have to show me sometime," she exclaimed.

"Sure, I'd be happy to," I replied.

As we continued our jog, Sarah and I caught up on each other's lives. She told me about her work at the spirit laboratory, and how she was responsible for bringing some important documents to the Manila Research Institute for their monthly report.

"That sounds like a lot of responsibility," I commented.

"It is, but I'm up for the challenge. Plus, I get to travel and see some new places," Sarah replied with a smile.

I nodded in agreement, feeling a pang of envy. While Sarah was out seeing the world, I was stuck in the city, trying to perfect my aura control training.

"So, what are your plans for the weekend?" Sarah asked, sensing my disappointment.

"I'm just going to focus on my training and catch up on some studying," I replied.

"That's great. You're really dedicated to your training," Sarah said, impressed.

Suddenly, my retinal projector beeped, and a breaking news report appeared on the screen. It was about the ancient god extremists causing chaos once again. I stopped jogging and watched the news in horror as I saw the destruction they had caused.

Sarah noticed my expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's the ancient god extremists. They're causing chaos again," I said, my voice trembling.

Sarah's reassuring hand settled on my shoulder as she spoke with a soothing tone, "I understand your concerns, but we can have faith that the government will find a solution to stop them. In the meantime, we must do our part and continue with our daily routine to contribute to our community and protect our territory."

Grateful for Sarah's unwavering support, I nodded in agreement. As she pointed out, I needed to remain focused on my physical training to strengthen myself, while she needed to delve deeper into the shaman's innate abilities to gain more knowledge. It was clear that we couldn't allow the extremists to succeed and disrupt our way of life.

As we continued our jog, I made a silent vow to become stronger and to protect the people I love. The world may be chaotic, but with my newfound power and the support of my friend, the instructors, and my fiancé, I knew that I could open up a path for a better future.

After bidding farewell to Sarah, I returned home and indulged in a delicious breakfast that Bootleg had kindly prepared for me before I headed out for my morning workout. Weekends always called for my favorite Filipino dish – longganisa, paired with fragrant garlic rice and a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg.

Following a satisfying meal, I took a refreshing bath to cleanse my body of sweat from the intense workout I had earlier. Once done, I deposited my used clothes into the vacuum chamber connected to my washing machine and set the timer.

The rest of my day was spent exploring the intricate and intriguing relationship between ancestral spirits and the shamans themselves, and the extent to which they could augment an individual's potential. I was particularly captivated by the fact that I had the ability to tap into not just one, but two auras - a feat that was beyond the reach of most ordinary shamans.

Seated on my couch, I found myself lost in thought, marveling at the realization that I had not one, but two mythical spirits residing within me. It was like having my own personal entourage of supernatural beings, always at the ready to support me in any way they could.

As I continued to contemplate the significance of my dual awakening, I couldn't help but be troubled by one particular issue. You see, it was of paramount importance that I kept track of whose aura was emanating from which entity. This was because I needed to be able to access their distinct abilities and strengths during any given encounter or conflict.

I shook my head, attempting to clear my mind of distracting thoughts. I knew that mastering my new powers and harnessing them to their fullest potential would take some time and effort, but I was fully committed to becoming the ultimate warrior. With dedication and practice, I would learn to navigate the complexities of my dual auras and unlock their full potential, enabling me to emerge victorious in any battle that lay ahead.
