Challenges

What he said and the way he spoke, made her wonder if he might be interested in her. Or maybe he was just playing?

He quickly grabbed some snacks and a glass of water.

She must have been tired. He usually made every Enchantress eat after they've accomplished their test. But Roselyn's presence had shaken him since the first minute he'd seen her, there was something about her that intrigued him, he was curious about knowing more about her. Not to mention her extraordinary capabilities of controlling her powers, along with the fact that she made Pagos appear for the first time in ages.

He knew all her life by heart, like every other professor in the school, despite this, she was still so mysterious to him.

"I'm sorry, I forgot that you could be hungry. It's lunchtime so we can go to the school cafeteria so you can also make new friends." He says.

She nodded. She never had any trouble making friends, she always knew somebody popular enough who introduced her to new people, and in a few months, she would end up knowing everyone in the city. Additionally, she went to parties a lot, and that's where she met even more people of dubious reputation, the more she was frequenting them, the more she was badly influenced by them. She presumed people to be different there, she imagined them to talk continuously about magic matters, and in that case, she wouldn't know how to talk to them, nor how to approach them. She felt like they had nothing in common with her, besides their appearance.

With a quick movement of the hand, in a blink of an eye, they found themselves in the school's cafeteria.

"You know I can walk right?" she complained. Their arrival made tables shake, catching the attention of every student in the cafeteria.

She could hear people whispering. She looked around trying to look for the serving line.

There it was, what a shame that it was behind groups of students waiting and chatting.

'Roselyn, you're making a fool of yourself, come on'

She mentally encouraged herself. She took a long breath and tried to walk in the middle of the crowd. Everyone looked at her puzzled yet intrigued, she had long hair, lightly curled, and dark eyes. Every other girl there was so different from her, they all had blond straight hair. Most of them were skinny, with grey or blue eyes.

The few girls who were brown were staying aside in the group, it was pretty clear that they felt inadequate. But why would they feel like that for something so normal, it's not like you can control the color of your hair, or eyes, let alone facial features.

She looked down at the floor, pretending to ignore everyone but just when she almost arrived at the serving line, a familiar face appeared in front of her, smiling hugely at her.

"Hello, hello, hello. Look who we have here." It was Emily's voice, behind her were standing three girls, two of them had long blond hair and blue eyes, the third one had shorter hair with green eyes. They were gazing at Roselyn with condescension.

Roselyn tried to walk pass them but her minions were blocking the way.

She rolles her eyes. "I'm hungry." She complained.

"Girls, she's Andreas's new love. Well, love that will last, how much? 1-week maximum? Before he leaves you for someone prettier." She laughed.

"I'm not his new love. Sorry to disappoint you, Emily, but not everyone is that desperate to beg for a boy's attention. How much did your relationship last? Just out of curiosity, 'cause for being this jealous, you two must've been dating for years."

The short-haired blonde girl answered "They never dated officially bu-" Roselyn giggled and stopped her saying. "So, not even for 1 week? That sounds a bit pathetic, don't you think?" Emily's minions opened their mouths in shock.

"You don't understand who you're putting yourself against," Emily said glaring.

"Nice to meet you." A tall, muscled blonde boy with blue eyes and a prominent jaw interrupted the quarrel, as he flashed a huge smile.

"I'm Ben." He said. "You must be the new enchantress."

Roselyn stretched her hand. "I'm Roselyn."

"Would you like to have lunch with me and my friends?"

Was that a dream? A hot boy was talking to her even in a magic school. So people werent so different from her normal school, after all.

They started walking toward the serving line.

"You saved me from Emily." Roselyn laughed.

"I know, you own me one." He winked. "But let me save you again, never take the salmon, just go for eggs and chicken. Also, avoid spinach, trust me, they're awful." He whispered.

Roselyn nodded, taking his advice.

A middle-aged woman with curly ginger hair was waiting for Roselyn's order while she tapped her ladle against the glass.

"Chicken and courgettes, please. Can I also have some potatoes and bread?" The woman puts the food on the place and handed it to Roselyn.

She took the place and started walking behind Ben.

"I've heard that you've never used your powers before."

Roselyn nodded as a response to Ben's observation.

"We can practice together if you want." He sais smiling.

Was he trying to flirt, or was he just being nice? One or the other, she could use some help.

She sat at the table in front of Ben, two of his friends were standing on the right side of the table, while a girl was sitting on the left, with Roselyn.

"Are you the new enchantress?" The girl asked, smiling friendly.

Roselyn returned the smile, one of the guys on the left side looked at her.

"So let's play some game." The second guy said, raising an eyebrow, gazing at Rose.

Roselyn was feeling weird as if someone was watching her, she looked around the cafeteria until she met Andreas's serious gaze.

He warned her about guys at that school, but she didn't seem to care. Maybe he heard some indecent thoughts they had on her and he was worried? If so, she was old enough to deal with people with bad intentions, she's done that before.

"Let's play then." Roselyn smiled, with a challenging smirk on her face gazing at Andreas.
