Rise of the Dragon Emperor

Hello there! I'm the author and this is my second attempt at making a novel. I have put in a lot of effort to make this novel as good as possible so that you can enjoy the novel which I have written. There will be minor mistakes within the novel, but I have tried my best to make the reading experience as best as possible. If you notice any errors or things that you do not like I will try to improve the problem as soon as possible. I hope that you enjoy my novel and continue to read it. I look forward to seeing all your comments and being able to interact with all of you :) Druak was an aspiring mage who wished to gain vast amounts of knowledge and had an incredibly amount of curiosity. Fate, however didn’t allow him to follow the path which he wished to follow. After a failed experiment Druak was sent into a coma for many years and lost his best chance to learn anything about magic. After living for 27 years Druak tragically died after being pushed off a cliff by a figure which was cloaked in black. Druak had lived a miserable life, each person he ever cared for or got close die before his eyes. Even his best friend was brutally killed in front of his eyes and Druak was powerless to stop it. 100 years after Druaks death a battle that shook the entire continent took place between a Lich king and four minor kingdoms. This battle resulted in the death of the Lich King. And the death of this Lich King seemed to set something into motion. Traveling all the way back in time Druak was once again alive, this time inside his 17-year-old body. He was finally given a second chance however, unbenounced to him he wasn’t the only one who was given a second chance. The cover of this novel does not belong to me so if the original owner wishes for me to take it down please let me know and I will be sure to change it.

The Dangers Around Us

Druak had just come through the doors as the leaders of the village were busy discussing an important matter.

"We don't need to worry about those barbaric creatures, what are they going to do with the little intelligence they have."

"I completely agree, the only thing special about them is their race's warrior classes which can't even be properly used with their intelligence."

From the sounds of it, the majority of the leaders within the village didn't consider the matter in which they were discussing as a threat.

Druak however knew differently and planned to make this perfectly clear to the leaders, not that he really cared much for them but he also knew that there were some old friends he had from his past life that suffered greatly from this incident.

Just as he was about to say something he was stopped, as a flaming ball of magic was flung directly at his face.

Quickly Druak leaped to the side, barely managing to avoid the majority of the attack. He was however not fast enough to avoid it all as it managed to graze his arm, causing searing pain to grow from the burns that were inflicted.

Druak clicked his tongue as he thought.'I need to get stronger, my knowledge is useless if I can't even stop a pathetic spell like that.'

"Damn intruder breaking into our meeting." An older leader said as he glared at Druak.

Druak didn't even bother to look in the direction of the person who spoke ignoring the glaring eyes. "Leaders of the village I Druak am here because I wish to inform you of important information. This information is incredibly valuable and could very well affect the lives of everyone here."

Druak tried to speak as quickly as possible to prevent himself from getting struck again and also to allow his point to get across to all of them as fast as possible.

It seemed to work as the leaders began to mutter amongst themselves.

"Do you think we can trust him." "I don't know but it's worth hearing him out."

Most seemed to want to listen to what he had to say and were prepared to ask him what information he had.

However just before this could happen one of the leaders interrupted them, this was the same leader that had thrown the fire bolt at Druak.

"This is ludicrous, how can we listen to the words of some youth that has even caused himself to go into a coma. What possible information could such an imbecile have."

The name of this man was Grungold and he was someone that hates Druaks father as he had married Druak's mother, the person Grungold loved.

"Grungold I understand what you are saying but this boy might have valuable information that could be vital to our decision… Please Druak tell us what you know."

Grungold grumbled for a moment but ended up not doing anything as it could look bad on him and his family line.

Druak began to speak as Grungold glared at him. "I've learned information about the orcs that will affect all the village. The orcs have gained a yellow mana core shaman of the 3rd stage and are planning to use it in a raid on this village in 6 months' time."

All the leaders inside the room were shocked. They had never seen a yellow core magic user since there was no reason to bring one to such a poor location.

The strongest mage here was a 2nd stage orange core mage that couldn't break through his limits.

Druak didn't know too much about magic as he couldn't enter the academy, but he at least knew that a yellow core mage was two core grades above his and with it being a 3rd stage mage it could destroy the village without much difficulty, using its powerful spellcasting capabilities.

This village only had 80 men and women that were in its garrison, only 5 of which were mages who didn't stand a chance against the shaman.

Most of the mages had left the village once they learned they were able to cast magic. This caused the village to lose much of its defence against magical attacks.

"Druak how did you learn of this information." This caused the chattering to stop as all of the elders looked at Druak.

Druak looked at the leader that had asked this question and began to answer. "I have not been able to see the village for quite some time which caused me to wander around the surrounding areas to learn if anything changed. While wandering I spotted some orcs and heard them discussing the shaman."

It seemed as though the elder believed Druak as he replied. "Thank you for informing us of this information however, I would like it if you kept out of this and try to avoid orcs from now on."

Druak had no plans on staying anyway so this didn't really bother him. He just wanted to help old comrades that he used to know.

He wasn't sure how he actually knew this information as he didn't know it before he died at 27 but he just left it to him forgetting how he learned of this.

As Druak was about to leave a man's hand tightly wrapped around his shoulder, stopping him from moving.

Druak turned around revealing the face of the man whose expression had scrunched up; however, this didn't last as a sudden smile appeared on his face.

The voice of the man behind Druak could then be heard echoing in his ear."Your just as pathetic as your mother and father were back then."

Druak turned around with anger in his eyes. As he turned around the face of Grungold was before him, his smug face staring down at Druak.

This was the last straw for Druak. He had been patient with Grungold and ignored him till now but he was too irritating to look at.

This was the man that had killed his father in his past life and left most of the villagers here to die when they needed his help.

Druak didn't care much for the villagers but for someone to betray his family was another matter entirely.

As Druak turned around he clenched his fist while smiling at Grungold. This seemed to annoy Grungold as his face turned from smug to angry, but before he could do anything.

*Bang* Druak had used the Mana Manipulation spell along with his Strike skill to punch Grungold directly in the gut.

Grungold was caught completely off guard by this and despite being higher stage than Druak, he still didn't have time to react to the punch.

Druak stared at Grungold for a second then scoffed, kicking Grungold to the floor, and began to stroll towards the exit of the village centre building.

Normally Druak was a very calm and calculated individual that would never do something so reckless but this scum had been given more than enough of a chance, it was time Druak finally got a little bit of revenge after not seeing this scum for so many years.

Out of breath and crouching down Grungold yelled. "GUARDS seize him."

It was time for Druak to leave. He had overstayed his welcome and had no plans to stay in this traitor-ridden village anyway.

Guards began to enter the room from different doors as they approached Druak.

He knew that he would need to escape after punching Grungold so he had already come up with a plan to escape.

He cast Mana bolt the only other spell he knew and instead of it hitting anyone it went up into the air and exploded causing a cloud of blue smoke.

Druak had used Mana Manipulation on his Mana bolt causing it to explode and blind the guards around him.

He then used his Dash skill, which he learned from his father, and quickly escaped from the building as he began to run straight to the gate.

Druak needed to leave quickly before the guards at the gate knew about this incident and stopped him from leaving.

Druak had stopped running and began to walk towards the village gates, trying not to seem suspicious.

As he approached the gate he came across a young man that was around Druaks age. He had long Red hair and was rather muscular. This was Isacc, Druaks friend since childhood.

Isacc could be rather clumsy and a bit too headstrong for his own good, often getting into trouble for it. However, he was still Druaks friend and always helped him through thick and thin, even if he didn't take things seriously enough sometimes.

No one else would help him but Isacc so Druak had a strong brother-like bond with him.

As Druak approached the gate Isacc began to have a smug face, then started speaking."You weren't planning on leaving me behind were you brother."

Isacc occasionally called Druak's brother as both of them relied greatly on each other.

"Noo was just hoping I could have some peace and quiet before your fire magic caused a ruckus," Druak responded in a rather sarcastic way.

"Ha ha, very funny. I'm not that bad." Isaac replied.

"Well, we better get going before we are late to the academy." Druak said as he didn't want to miss even a moment of gaining more magic knowledge.

Druak was obsessed with magic and how it worked even as a child however, due to his coma in his previous life he didn't get the chance to join an academy and learn proper spells.

He wasn't picky about what type of magic it was as long as it was interesting, challenging, and made him strong enough to protect himself he didn't really care. This had changed since going back in time, however as he learned of many disasters that caused him to lose many of his friends.

"You're right let's get going. I've got all my things ready what about you Druak, you ready to go."

"Yeah, I'm ready to finally leave this place."

They were finally outside of the village and began their journey to the most prestigious academy in all the minor kingdoms.
