They all made small talk for a while. Sasha was relieved that Zan remained asleep. When the wet nurse arrived, she took a seat along the wall and didn't speak.

But the Queen, Elreth seemed to grow more and more tense as the minutes dragged on. "Where are they?" she muttered eventually, then strode towards the door—but before she reached it, a Guard swung the door open and hurried to salute to her.

"What is it?" Elreth demanded. "Is Behryn refusing? Where is Gar and—"

"No, no. They're all at the Royal Cave—they have the Captain and the Chimera who took him."

"What?!"

Sasha jumped to her feet, but Elreth shot her a look, so she didn't rush closer.

"Who took him? Is he well?" Elreth snapped.
