[Congratulations Denizen, you have successfully begun your journey into forging your body.]

Only seeing two short message Rosario thought about seeing his Status Sheet that he assumed all "Denizens" must have. To his expectations the screen appeared in front of his vision, and he was able to see the status information about himself.

[Name: Rosario ???

Passive Abilities: Abyssal Body, Child of the Abyss ]

Reading his stats, he wasn't sure if they were good or not, his Mind stats seemed to be a bit lower than his body stats. Seeing if he could glean any information from his page he focused on his passive Abyssal Body.

[Abyssal Body: Individuals with Abyssal Bodies are the embodiment of the unpredictability of Chaos and the nothingness of the Abyss. Using {Abyssal Pearls} you are able to refine your body as the Creatures of the Abyss do.]

[Current level: Abyssal Body I.

+25 all body stats

+10 all mind stats

Next level: Abyssal Body II (Consume 5 Abyssal Pearls)

+50 all body stats

+20 all mind stats]

Rosario didn't notice that as he read through the messages about the Abyssal Body he had a very creepy smile that slowly began to adorn his face. After Re-reading everything he was able to figure out his original stats and cringed a little at the thought of how low they were. Moving onto his second passive he brought his attention to Child of the Abyss.

'A lot to do with this so-called abyss, when I have time I should look into what it is.'

[Child of the Abyss: Everything about you is tuned to the Abyss, it runs through your blood and reaches every inch of your soul. You will find that you can learn the magic of the Abyss faster, that your mana core will be more attuned to the Abyss, and your energy veins are made for the Chaotic energy of the Abyss to run through them.]

He couldn't see any active benefit that the Child of the Abyss passive was giving him but reading the description he assumed it would come into play more when he was dealing with his mana core or energy veins, whatever those where and however he obtained them.

The last part he checked out was what the Evo 0 was for, not getting a pop up or any kind of help from the system he had to give up on figuring out what this was for now.

Closing the window and standing up Rosario took a look at the sun; it hung in the middle of the sky causing him to believe that it was around noon. Deciding he needed to get his bearings, he planned on finding a large tree and climbing it to try and get his head above the vibrant canopy of trees. Picking the direction opposite of where he had originally run into the forest earlier he set off after placing the last crate in his necklace.

Rosario had been hiking through the forest for about a half hour when he finally came across an extremely tall tree that looked almost identical to earth's evergreen trees, however this tree was royal blue. Climbing the strong branches that were almost like a ladder he chose his hand and foot holds carefully to make sure he didn't fall from such a great height. It took him a little while to climb but he finally got high enough to be able to see through the branches around him and into the valley that lay all around him.

Craning his neck in all directions he was able to get a slightly obstructed 360-degree view of the valley he apparently was placed in. Thankfully he didn't need a completely clear view as what greeted him was a ring of mountains. They only looked as tall as his thumb from his perch, but it was enough to let him know they are formidable and seem to make a totally unbroken ring around his current position. Deciding to head towards the mountains he looked for the sun's position in the sky, at this point it had started setting slowly to one side of the sky. Looking at the sun heading on its downwards trajectory he decided to call that direction West like it was on earth. After looking around more he found that the mountains to the East were a little bit closer to him, thinking that heading that way would give him more sun in the afternoon and along with it being closer he decided to head East from his position.

He figured that if he were to reach the mountains in the East he could at least enjoy the sun from noon till the evening when he would be able to watch as the sun set behind the Western mountains. Climbing slowly down the tree and making a mark every time he moved down a branch to remember which side is East, Rosario made his way to the forest floor. Once down he collected himself and began trekking towards the mountain.

As he walked through the forest Rosario could hear birds calling and smaller animals moving throughout the underbrush and tree canopies. Taking in a deep breath a smile adorned his face as he filled his lungs with the purest oxygen he had ever experienced.

He felt a sense of peace and contentment was over him that he so rarely felt back on Earth. There he had worked close to 55 hours a week just to be able to afford the rent that he was charged. He would have bought a house but had been too young when the interest rates were low. When he had begun looking the interest rates were close to 7.5% making it so buying a $150k house on a 30-year mortgage would mean he would be paying over $600k for the house. He could never bring himself to say yes to that.

Here walking through the forest with just the sounds or the wind in the trees and the animal calls all those worries about bills and saving melted away. This was a new start for him, an even playing field where he could make it to the top just like those on Earth.

As he was trekking through a bit of denser underbrush hie revery was interrupted when he heard some loud squealing to his right. Immediately he ran left, jumping over shrubbery and roots that almost seemed to be reaching to grab hold of his feet to trip him, Rosario ran faster than he ever had due to his increased stats. Hearing squealing and the destruction of the underbrush behind him he glanced back seeing a three-foot tall and close to 300lbs wild boar chasing him. Its hide was a darker brown and the black hairs all over it were matted and had mud mixed in. Seeing the foot long tusks on the charging boar Rosario felt his adrenalin spike as his mind was telling him he was in a life and death situation.
