9 Chapter Nine : New Student

"You want to get enrolled in college?" Rai thought he misheard.

Just yesterday he was trying his best to find a disciple. Yet today an unknown girl came and declared that she wanna enroll , surely left Rai stunned.

"Yeah, i hope i can get admission here" nodding Alicia affirmed it.

"W-Wait Alicia " suddenly Elodie intervened and stopped them from talking further.

"I wanna ask some questions from you i hope you can answer me " she looked towards Rai and said that.

"Well, you can " nodded Rai but surely his mind was in utter confusion. He still couldn't get the situation.

"My Friend has C level talent Observant Eye, what do you think about it" an unexpected question from her even made Alicia and Rai both confused.

"Elodie wha--" she was about to ask Elodie of what she was trying to do but suddenly she got stopped by Elodie.

"Let me ask him first" she looked towards her friend and gave her an assurance through eye contact.

"Well, let me get this clear first" before answering her question Rai wanted to sort out the situation.

"So your friend want to enroll in this College and her talent is C level right" questioned Rai.

"Well yeah and i hope you can answer me , what does C level talent mean in your eyes?" nodded to Rai's question she asked the same question again.

Rai put his finger on chin and got into deep thoughts. It looked like he was in deep thoughts , while in reality he was contacting System.

"Hey system" Rai spoke in his mind.

{Hello ignorant Host} system's monotonous and sarcastic answered was heard.

But this time Rai has learned from his past mistakes , he would surely not get angry with system again.

"Is there any requirements to absorb pokemon crystal?" Rai asked a crucial question.

Rai wanted to hear the answer so he could make future plans.

{No, Pokemon crystal doesn't require for any high talent to get absorb. Otherwise Host won't be having Riolu with his meager non-existent talent.} answered System.

Hearing System's answer pleased and frustrated Rai. He really feel like System was his past life enemy.

Atleast he found out that talent could be ignored when absorbing pokemon crystal, in this way he didn't need to find students of high talent.

Looking at the young girl who deeply desired his answer he spoke.

"To be honest talent is indeed everything, without talent what's the use of enthusiasm. In the end it is talent which determines your limitations" but his answer wasn't what they expected.

Alicia after hearing that didn't show much of reaction, this was not the first time she heard that. But the disappointment in her eyes still couldn't be hidden.

Elodie saw her friend's disappointed face and got angry she looked at Rai and tried to answer

"What are yo--" but her sentence was cut off by Rai's another dialogue.

"But I hope you prove me wrong, i hope you make me realize that it's not talent that determines our limitation but it's us . Heaven rewards diligence. Prove me and everyone wrong" a smile was formed on serious face of Rai.

He would prove it that talent is overrated, human should set their limitations themselves not their talent. And the start of this would be this young girl. He knew his thoughts were naive , in this ruthless society no one cared about low level talent even if you belong to a royal family. But he hoped that his naive thoughts can be realized. he hoped that his students never care about their talent.

Alicia was stunned after hearing Rai said that she knew what Rai said was just some delusional thoughts that contradicted the ruthless reality she had faced. But deep down a glimmer of hope was born in her heart. She looked at Rai, Unknowingly Rai looked more charismatic to her at that time.

Elodie was still shocked and didn't recover.

She won't be naive to believe what Rai had said. But a natural smile was formed on her face, Although naive but wasn't that what she wanted for all the time. A society where even low ranks has right to speak.

"Fine , you won. Your thoughts conquered my arrogance. I hope you prove what you said and make sure Alicia stand at peak one day" Elodie is fully convinced of Rai now.

Rai looked at Alicia after all no matter what Elodie said, the real decision still laid in the hands of Alicia.

Alicia looked at Rai and bowed down

"I hope you take care of me , Principal"

A smile was hanging on her lips when she said that.

"No need to call me principal, just call me teacher Because you would be my personal disciple from now" he nodded and decided to accept her as personal disciple. A personal disciple and student has different status in society.

Alicia paused for some seconds, she looked at Rai. Although Rai looked young but the aura he was emitting was of elder more than a youngster.

"Yes teacher" she bowed again this time but more respectfully.

"Yeah, that's better" Rai nodded in

satisfaction.

"My name is Rai Izanagi " Rai told them his name.

Elodie paused and her pupils shrunk. But she got back to normal without them noticing.

"I have one more question though " Elodie intervened.

"Speak " Rai answered.

"Would you provide Alicia a beast or if you can't then let me handle this" She was more worried about future beast of her friend.

she didn't want her friend to contract a mediocre beast. But she knew no beast of higher talent would willingly form a contract with her bestfriend. Naturally she could force it but the consequences would be disastrous. Someone tried in the past but his beast let it's master die when he was attacked than help him. She did not want her friend to end like that.

"I understand your concerns well" Naturally Rai won't be so stingy to his first disciple.

"Why don't we go inside and i will let her absorb the beast crystal." Rai purposed.

"I hope it is not mediocre " Elodie Nodded while Alicia didn't say much about it.

She had already decided to be Rai's disciple. She would naturally listen to Rai.

Because in this world once you became someone's personal disciple they are like family. Only few villainous people would treat their family wrong.

"Okay let's go inside the building" he led them to the building of college.

Naturally Rai didn't have any beast crystal at that moment but his task was completed, which would provide him a pokemon crystal.

"System is my task considered to be completed now"? Rai calmly questioned.
