2 Pasungdar

Kashmir stood frozen, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"What the fuck?"

Approaching the severed finger, the only remains of his girlfriend, he lifted it delicately, questioning the reality before him.

Tears streamed down his face, a silent testimony to the twisted turn of events. In a hushed murmur, he whispered, "I was supposed to be the only one to end her."

"So, I guess I wasn't hallucinating."

Kashmir carefully placed the severed finger on his room's table, putting on a hoodie and some loose pants. Returning to the finger, he carefully puts it into his pocket.

"Fur bitch, where are you?" Kashmir shouts into the void that surrounds him.

The fur ball appeared and looked at Kashmir with his angry gaze but did nothing for the time being.

"What's happening?" Kashmir inquired.

"Use your fucking eyes and you will see that half of your house is blown up." Fur ball replied.

"I know, but why?" Kashmir sought answers.

"Unfortunately, a fracture manifested right next to your home," fur ball explained.

"What are you?" Kashmir looked at the fur ball sizing him up only to be met with a chilling smile from the fur ball.

"You have no right to ask yet, but my name is Ivy, not fur bitch."

Without a warning, Kashmir lunged at Ivy, landing a punch right across his face.

A hundred points have been deducted for assaulting a watcher.

Before he could have landed another blow, this notification halted Kashmir's aggression.

Ivy, who looked angry and fed up with Kashmir, made a sign in the air using his hands and suddenly Kashmir felt an immeasurable pain.

"This is the only warning you get, low life! Try anything else and I will give you a very painful death."

Ivy said with a serious tone, while Kashmir was on the ground moving in a frenzy resembling a dying cockroach.

Suddenly the pain stopped and a voice was heard.

"Memory update completed."

A global notification echoed, revealing the newfound ability of humanity to power up in this mysterious world.

Two ways emerged: spend points to enhance stats or seek support from mythologies.

Hearing this Kashmir allocated his 100 points, elevating his strength to level 4 from level 3.

As Kashmir processed the challenge, a familiar cry echoed in the surrounding. Turning to his back, he faced a doppelgänger.

Suddenly realisation hit him that this is a folklore creature that his parents used to tell him stories about, "Pasungdar."

(Pasungdar are benevolent spirits in Kashmiri folklore, acting as invisible protectors of households. They bring good luck, watch over families, and ward off misfortune. While their exact form is unseen, they are believed to take the shape of small animals or even the owner of the home in some tales. Maintaining a clean and respectful home is said to appease these guardians and not maintaining a clean home can enrage them, making them come to you for retribution.)

A sinister smile broke on Kashmir's face as he realised that the world that he despised so much, the world that made him want to kill himself was no more.

Now it's just a stage for him to spill the blood, for at least the next 24 hours.

As he was lost in this thought, Pasungdar's unexpected punch sent Kashmir plummeting down a story from the remnants of his room.

The fall triggered an adrenaline-fueled defiance and despite a broken nose, fear seemed absent; the sole urge was to kill.

He looked up at the Pasungdar who was crying, looking into nothing. Kashmir made a move to get up from the floor where he was previously laying due to the intensity of the punch. Suddenly, Pasungdar leapt down in an attempt to attack Kashmir again.

Kashmir made a move towards the kitchen, running hastily, hoping to get his hands on a large knife that could be used as a weapon. Just before he could seize the knife, Pasungdar managed to get it.

As Pasungdar was assessing the knife in his hands, Kashmir looked at him and shouted frustratedly, "It was my house too, why are you trying to kill me?"

"You don't deserve to live!" Pasungdar looked at him with a sad face, tears streaming down his cheeks.

Just as he finished saying that, he ran up to Kashmir, swinging the knife towards his neck. Kashmir held his now bleeding neck that would've been on the floor along with his head had he not managed to dodge the attack on time.

"Why is he so fast?" Kashmir said to himself.

"Increase agility."

With his enhanced agility, Kashmir decided to try again as this might be his only chance at survival.

He decided to make a run for another knife present on the counter right behind the Pasundgar. With that in mind he tried to punch Pasungdar who simultaneously swung the knife in his direction.

He managed to land a blow on Pasungdar, though Pasungdar's attack also resulted in a gash on his left arm, rendering it useless.

With Pasungdar being pushed aside, Kashmir quickly leapt at the counter and grabbed a knife with his right hand. He threw it with all his strength, aiming at Pasungdar's face.

"What the fuck? How can my aim be so bad?" Kashmir cried agitated as the knife stabbed Pasungdar on leg out of all places.

"Fuck them," Kashmir cussed, as he rushed to grab the microwave.

Pasungdar pulled the knife out of his leg and threw it back at Kashmir, also aiming for his head.

Kashmir left with no weapon but a microwave to defend himself raised the said object to block the approaching knife. The knife driven to take Kashmir's life was now stuck inside the microwave.

Pissed with the series of events, Kashmir finally slung the microwave right across the room directing it at Pasungdar's head. The throw made Pasungdar lose his balance and drop down on the floor on his knees.

Seizing this opportunity, Kashmir grabbed the knife that was dropped by Pasungdar. Mustering the remaining strength in his body, he made a final blow, stabbing Pasungdar right in the middle of his chest before he could gain back his footing.

Having vanquished Pasungdar, Kashmir stood amid the aftermath, observing the blue blood trickling from the creature. Retrieving his knife, a surge of freedom coursed through him, a sensation previously unknown to him.

With a ruthless resolve, he removed the microwave from the creature's head, and gauged its eyes with his fingers.

A maniacal laughter erupted, echoing through the shattered remnants of his home.

"This is what you get for punching me in the face!"

As Kashmir contemplated his transformed world, he concluded that this world has gone bonkers and adaptation was the key.

The only adaptation he could make was to go with the flow for now as he was powerless even against the fur bitch for now.

Armed with supplies, an axe and the knife he used to kill Pasungdar, he resolved to venture to the police station to know what the government is doing as most of the technology in his home seems to not be working including his phone and wifi and to steal some AKs if possible, also aware of the fact that staying by the fracture would only make it harder for him to survive the 1st scenario.
