CHAPTER 39 CLIVE

"This time you are done!" The Roland man raised his head proudly as he proclaimed the end of his opponent like a monarch. "I have specially researched your techniques and beings whose souls are made of chattered soul are best counter against you. I would very much like to see how you will escape this." the young man laughed out loud, and he seem assured that victory is his.

"You talk to much." the red haired going man was still as calm as ever. He raised his hand, moving it in such a way that is gauntlet was placed right in front of his chest. More soul energy revolved round the gauntlet, and a milky white shield was formed in front of him.

The raging demon crashed into the shield that suddenly appeared in front of it. The should then exploded and sent the demon flying backward.

Garen let out a small gasp. The red haired man's soul energy can take physical form! Soul energy is mainly about the soul and intangible elements. For it to affect the physical plane and take physical form, the mastery over soul energy as reached a level unknown to him.

The demon got up and became even more angry. It roared loudly to sky. Flame suddenly shot out from its red eye, and more muscle rippled through out its body. It's nail grew longer, and smoke and flame periodically shot out from its nose. The demon grew to 14feet and each of its step made the arena quake loudly.

The monster as finally revealed its true form. It's head was lowers like a bull, though it still stands on two feet. The now angered took a leap, and smashed down towards the red haired man.

The young man was no longer as calm as before. He raised his head and looked at the fast approaching demon, but he seem not to sure of what to do, or maybe something was limiting him from showing his true strength.

"you have truly become stronger during the period of time am away, but you are still too weak to defeat me. You can only destroy this soul clone. Too bad it cost me alot of soul energy to create." The red haired now calm as before calmly spoke, and he didn't seem to care about the demon rushing at him from above anymore.

The red haired man seem to have accept his loss, but before the demon could reach him, he raised the hand he wore his gauntlet and stretched it towards the Roland man. A mass of soul energy rushed out, and slammed into the unguarded black haired man.

The demon rushed downwards, and pierced its claw into the red haired's man head. The man took no action, not show any sign of fear or regret. His head exploded into different pieces, and instead of the expected flesh and blood being torn apart. There was only an exploding smoke, and a surge of soul energy.

Garen then understood what he said that time. No wonder he felt there was something limiting the man's strength, he naturally couldn't use his whole strength with just a clone. The amount if soul energy in the clone would not be enough to cast powerful spells. The man's physical self isn't even here, yet he could fight a powerful summoner with just a clone.

The summoner didn't have it easy. The last attack from the Clone dealt quite a great deal of damage to him. He crouched down, and held his hear. Blood hushed out of his seven orifice Andre looked frightening. The attack directly burnt his soul. Notwithstanding it was only the last vestige of strength the clone could muster in a short time. He just need a bit of rest, and he would be as good as new.

The summoner rested for a bit, and after he got hold of himself, he released the summoning spell, and the demon was sent back to the abyss.

The summoner got up from the floor, swiped the blood on his face which actually made the book more pronounced, then dust his cloth.

Garen let out a weird laugh as he saw how ridiculous he looked. The blood is now more pronounced and all over his face, contrary to his aim of wiping it off. And not only his face, the blood were all over his blue robe, and he looked like someone who was abused.

The young man looked at Garen weirdly and seem to have assume there is a screw loose in his head, until garen politely pointed towards his robe, and he looked at his horrible handiwork.

The young man let out an awkward laugh, and scratched his head. He stretched his hand towards garen, bit Garen politely declined after pointing out the blood. Garen wondered how forgetful this guy is actually. He put on an awkward smile and introduced himself to garen. "Ahhh, Am Clive, master Hashil's fourth apprentice. You must be Garen. The talented new apprentice."

Oh Garen thought. He only knew two of Hashil's apprentice. The cold faced Emil, and master hashil's last apprentice lonson. As for the rest, Emil said they were not in the mansion at that time, or were travelling. Clive would be the third apprentice he got to know.

Clive calling him talented wasn't wring at all. From what he heard, a normal sorcerer apprentice start their learning from 14 same age as him, and become a full fledge sorcerer on 1year or 2. That is if they have good affinity with soul energy. For someone to breeze through apprenticeship to a full fledged sorcerer in just four month is really amazing. Even though the person is an half baked sorcerer, it would only take 2month or so to correct the mistake in foundation and make him a full fledged one.

Garen though far more intelligent than most of his age and more experienced he his after all a kid and pleased by the compliment. Clive's impression on him actually became better and he replied with a smile. "Yes.. Yes that's me. Garen."

"good... Good... A new junior apprentice brother. Don't worry I will teach you the ropes, and if you need any help you can seek me out. That cold witch emil isn't someone you can ask pointers from. She will only abuse you." The easy going man talked Frey with the kid, and they soon found out that actually have a lot in common.

As the conversation went on and Garen felt increasingly familiar with him, he found out Clive was actually a good and cool guy. Feeling more at home, he asked him about the red haired man.

Clive seem to have a bad blood with the man in red. He gritted his teeth at the mention of him. "That bastard is Seth. The first student of master. He his a master sorcerer, an egoistic bastard. Though he have the strength to back it up."
