CHAPTER 22 EXCALATE

Garen took 40minutes to greedily absorb the 14souls. As for the soul of the two dead martial warriors, he had to struggle a bit to absorb normal soul, so he his sure he might not yet be able to absorb it so he could only store it in a soul orb.

He also observed that the souls mostly follows their dead body for a while before floating aimlessly and then falling into the netherworld. So sorcerers have a small gap to exploit.

Garen couldn't help but assume sorcerers must be very war loving. After all were can someone accumulate a large number of souls if not in battle.

System menu Garen thought out aloud.

His spirit as actually increased by 0.2, by absorbing the souls. He truly have to move out of that mountain outpost. If he had still been there, it would have taken him two to three month to increase that much.

Garen traced his way back to the bandits camp. He had spent too much time away. They must be suspicious but he just have to push it sideways and use other words as a cover up.

"were are you coming from." as soon as he arrived back at the camp, olauf couldn't help but ask him.

"lost my way." Garen replied shortly and walked into the camp without a glance backward. The bandits were separated into three different groups. The biggest being the young boss Barnuld, another group was headed by turin they most be the group dissatisfied with the young boss. And lastly the loners olauf and the other martial warrior.

The three groups cut the camp into three different areas. The young boss face was slightly red, they must have gotten into a slight altercation and the pain of the loss must still be weighing on him very much. Still, he felt like it shouldn't have blown up to this. Here's the son of the boss they all should obey him.

But clearly the others didn't think like that. The group led by turin snub him at any chance that had and disobeyed his orders.

As for the last group, olauf and the other martial warrior, the two of them just looked On with a small smile on their lips, a stranger would assume they are entirely different group from the bandits.

"what's the story?" Garen asked. He can't make it seem as if he knows what is going on since it will be very strange after all, according to his word, he lost his way.

"long story cut short, the young boss lost a lot of good men in the supposed sneak attack. And his gain can't cover his loss. Some where dissatisfied and we'll as you can see, they group is now broken into two.

"can't help but wonder, if we can make it to the city without turning on each other." olauf buttressed his earlier words. It seems far more complicated than he though. At first, he thought they would only be dissatisfied without taking any step but with what olauf said, it seem far more serious than he expected. Something must have happened when they came back to the camp.

Garen surveyed the area, trying to look for a clue and figure out why it seem to as escalated to being irreconcilable. After all turin didn't seem ready to fight the young boss.

There were some blood stains in the camp, something must have happened. From the 32 that came from the mountain, only 23 were left. It seems two people were missing. Garen threw a glance at the others, some members of the two group eyes were red, and some grabbed tightly at their weapon. It seems during the altercation, some didn't control their strength well and two died. Or one died from a certain group, and the group killed a member of the other as revenge.

"hehehehe, you must have noticed right? Two people are missing." olauf came near him an said with a laugh. Garen didn't know when he became so talkative. "it started when the young boss beat up a member of Turin's group, wanted to shower is in command. But turin and his group took it the hard way, said the young boss want to suppress them. A fight started and well, things got out of hands and a member of the young boss group brought out a weapon, and killed a member of the opposing group."

Garen didn't interrupt the man and kept his full attention on the man. It all seemed funny to the scarred face man, he told the experience with relish and continued when he saw he still has garen's attention. "turin wanted that guy dead, butter young boss wouldn't have it, after all it was someone under him. Well turin's group us smaller and they were on the back foot, so they can only accede. That was what the young boss thought, but he was wrong."

"turin waited for a while, and when the guy (one who killed a member of his group) went to pee, he and some others sneaked out and killed him. Now they're even, but have deep seated hatred. Young boss felt like he has lost all his face and Turin felt like the young boss needed to be thought a lesson." olauf finally finished recounting the experience.

Garen wasn't really surprised, it was similar to what he actually thought had happened. The fault mostly lied in the young boss not having much prestige, nor strength to suppress the group, yet he wished to take control of the group. Had it been the boss himself, then even if half of the group died, he had the prestige and strength to suppress all opposition.

Garen walked away from the two groups and sat down at a distance from them. He didn't want to get involved in this matter.

The other martial warrior who stayed away from them gave Garen a smile and waved his fan at him. He seem to know something as his eyes kept roaming over garen. And he seems to know something, giving Garen a creepy smile.
