12: Fight.

When they came to the center of the capital, Evelyn's eyes widened at the sight of a fountain and they stopped there.

" This is just mesmerizing, it's so irresistible." She said, staring deeply at the fountain.

" Who knew you haven't seen a fountain before in your entire life, I thought you came with your brother to the capital when he wanted to join the academy?" He inquired, turning towards her.

" Like a lowly peasant like you has ever seen one before, you should start taking time to appreciate the work of art of others." She advised, turning away with a slight frown on her face.

" She only takes pleasure in insulting me alone or maybe it's just a habbit." He thought, staring into the distance.

" Shouldn't we hurry up? Your mother might be awake."

" What harm could it do, the building is only a few steps away, we can make it just in time."

" I'll come back to meet you then, right now my stomach is not at peace with me." He said, walking away.

The fountain was more of a roundabout that separated four roads, each going north, south, east, or west.

Harry had taken the road to the east and it wasn't long before he found himself standing in front of a fruit store.

" What is it you want?" A boy asked, coming out from the inside of the store with a grumpy look on his face.

" Is she here yet?" He heard another voice come from inside the store and another boy who seemed to be about five years of age came running out soon after.

" Those two look nothing alike, but the rude one certainly has the same aura as the man I saw here the other day." He thought, looking at the both of them.

" No Donald, I'll tell you when your mom comes." The boy replied, patting the child on the head.

" But I want to see my mommy now, my tummy is starting to hurt." The child said, looking up at the boy with puppy dog eyes.

The boy frowned slightly before reaching out for an apple and immediately handed it to the boy with the words, "Here, have an apple."

A slight smile appeared on the child's face as he took the apple, but it wasn't enough to clear the sad expression on his face.

" I would like two apples please."

The boy reached out to the apples and brought two of them before handing them to him.

" Thank you," Harry said, handing him four bronze coins, and then turned his gaze to the child, " and how did you end up here little boy?"

" Well I was out with my mommy and...then she told me to and left me to go get something but l... then I ran off and when I tried to get back the crowd wouldn't let me get to her." The boy sobbed.

It took some time but Harry was now walking along the capital with the boy's hand gripped by his.

" That boy sure is smart, the father must be one deft person if the son is able to pull stunts like that." He thought, staring into the distance in search of any woman who possessed the same facial features as the boy.

It was a long search but after a while, Harry found himself walking back to the fruit store with the boy in his hand and he began to cry.

It was evening and most of the people walking around the capital had all gone home and even a few shops had closed up.

" This is not my kind of job." He thought, looking over at the boy while heaving a sigh.

" Hey, you!"

Harry immediately turned to see where the voice had come from and he could see a boy with a bandage wrapped around the right side of his face standing in the middle of an alley to his right while frowning at him.

Harry stared blankly at the boy who was standing there and after a moment the boy slowly began to approach him.

He let go of the boy's hand and nodded at a building that was a little far to his left and the boy after looking back at him with his eyes filled with tears slowly walked away.

The boy quickly went from walking to running and just as he was about to come in contact with Harry, he pulled out a dagger and tried to slash at him.

The movements came swiftly although it lacked a little precision but Harry had been able to determine where he was planning to strike and was able to move away just in time.

He watched as the dagger sailed past his face and immediately after that, he grabbed the boy's hand and tried to move behind him but he was quick to react and emerging the victor in a battle of strength swung back his dagger at Dave's face once again.

The attack was unexpected and just before he could dodge it completely, the dagger grazed the side of his cheek and he placed his hand on his face as he backed away.

" You lowly bastard, did you I would simply let you get away with what you did!" He shouted, dashing straight towards him.

Harry braced himself as the boy came running towards him and just as he swung at the dagger at him once again, he grabbed a hold of the boy's hand and pushed it just past his face.

" He's relying solely on brute strength but it has its disadvantages as well." He thought, striking down at the boy's shoulder with his left hand which was stretched out.

He groaned in pain as he went staggering to the other side and he quickly turned around to face Harry with his hand on his hurt shoulder and the frown on his face now very much noticeable.

" You're pretty good, but this is the end of the road for you," he said swinging his arm around and immediately after that charged straight towards Harry, "You should have just left us like we were!"

He ran as fast as he could towards him and tried to slash at Harry again but this time, instead of deflecting the boy's attack, he grabbed his hand and stopped the progress of the attack.

Now having grabbed a hold of the boy's hand, he quickly twisted around and quickly pulled him up before slamming him down on the ground.

He was still holding his hand after that and quickly bent down right next to the boy before turning the boy's back slightly and after a hard twist on the boy's hand, a cracking sound was heard and the boy immediately let out a scream.

" You should have just let things go as they were, damaging your face to that degree was how far my restraint from killing you could take me." He said, letting go of the boy's hand.

As soon as he said those words, his head began to throb and he immediately grabbed it with his right hand.

He gasped after seeing the boy's body completely soaked in blood and lying right next to him and began to breathe heavily as he backed away.

With his hand still on his head, he turned around and began to slowly walk towards the boy who was watching from the other side of the road.

The boy who was lying on the ground gritted his teeth as he put his left hand into his pocket while staring at Harry who was staggering away from him.

He brought out a small glass tube filled with a strange white liquid and bit out the cover with his mouth before gulping down the whole liquid in one go and in an instant, his broken hand was healed.

Harry was trying to get as far away as he could from the boy because the moment he saw him lying dead on the ground, the feeling of guilt filled up inside him and he felt like he had killed the boy when he was still very much alive.

It was the evening and they were far from the center of the capital, which was where most of the people were which was why their fight was able to go so freely.

Harry gasped and immediately turned around to see the boy back on his feet and holding a glowing yellow crystal in his hand.

He tried to run towards the boy but the bloody sight appeared before him once again and he began to breathe even more heavily as he watched the boy swallow the glowing crystal whole.

" What in the world does he think he's doing, such a condensed amount of innate energy is going to begin dispersing once it's inside his body." He thought, slowly backing away.

The veins on the boy's neck and head began to bulge and he began to scream as they began to glow a bright yellow.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
