I don't want to throw spoilers but although the MC is an anti-hero who will do anything to achieve his goals he sometimes puts others into consideration but depending on how the story goes he might turn evil after all the tragedy he faces.

Chapter 6: Number One.

Finally, it was time for the semi-finals and while every other fighter seemed exhausted Roy seemed like he had been doing nothing the entire time. Every single one of his matches ended in less than five minutes and no one was yet to get a grasp on his abilities worked.

But, finally, it had reached the point where he was finally going to get pushed by his opponent. It was a female earth user who also had the special ability to manipulate a special type of metal.

Their match was the first to commence and once again Roy had that usual calm aura around him which had Henry wondering why a mage as powerful as him and from a renowned clan as he would be working in this dirty scheme.

" A closed-off battlefield made for the entertainment of horrible-minded people. Right now, they're operating without the king's permission but why, someone like him should at least be a royal mage." He thought as he continued to stare at the man as he slowly walked down towards the centre of the arena.

Not long after that, he was standing opposite his opponent in the middle of the ring. All the while his attention wasn't on the battle but sadly if he was to accomplish it then he would have to eliminate all obstacles that stood before him and he had to make it quick.

As soon as the fight began multiple spikes made of earth appeared around and instantly fired towards him.

" As I thought, her mastery exceeds mine despite having better energy control." He thought as he raised his right hand, creating a wall of earth right in front of him.

The wall of earth he had created quickly turned into a barrier of doom for him as multiple spikes began to emerge from them as well.

" Well, now aren't you a strong woman." He said as soon as he appeared right behind her.

" What? how?" She mumbled with a gasp as she quickly turned around online to see no one standing there.

" I must say your level of control is truly splendid but with a mindset like that you'll be easily defeated in battles like this one. Certainly, you should have gotten used to tricks like that, oh right I forgot, your opponents up to this point were just far too easy."

" Though he is incredibly annoying I'll have to agree that he's right though, my ability is perfectly suited for defence and I proceeded to turn around instead of establishing a good defence first." She thought with her gaze intently fixed on him.

A form of silver-coloured liquid appeared before her and they quickly hardened to form long, pointed projectiles faster and stronger than the earth ones she used before.

" Mercury manipulation I see, well let's see how much alchemy you actually learned during your time in an academy."

Just as the spike was about to hit him, he vanished, leaving behind a reminisce of teal-coloured dust.

" That's far too slow." He said as he appeared right in front of her with his right hand completely engulfed in lightning which he then proceeded to swing at her.

The silver liquid quickly solidified in front of her to block the attack. A circular wall made of mercury was formed around her.

" I could say the same for you." She said, appearing right behind him with a blade made out of mercury held forward in an attempt to stab him.

He merely giggled with his usual unfazed expression. Right then, at that moment, the fight was over and there was no stopping it.

While the fight was still going on Harry had gone to have a little chat with the authorities conducting the tournament. So far, it was enough for him and he was ready to take what was his and go home.

" I see, so you plan on forfeiting your match against Joseph Ryder?"

Harry simply nodded positively to the question.

" I see then, please follow me, sir." The man standing before him said, walking away.

Harry followed behind the man and arrived inside a room where he was asked to sit on a chair. Before him was another sitting with his back to him, wearing a black suit with his legs crossed.

" You do know that all participants are only talking to get their rewards once the competition is over?" He reminded, not moving an inch from where he was staying.

" Not once have I participated in something like this and I came after seeing that most of the participants have already left. You mean to tell me that they didn't come to meet you first?" He asked, slowly gripping the hilt of his sword in preparation for whatever was to come next.

He slowly turned around as he said, "Please now, no need for any form of violence, I simply want to have a chat with you that's all."

Harry slowly let go of his sword's hilt but still kept his fingertips close just in case.

The man proceeded to slowly stand up from the chair and as soon as he did, Harry began to feel a sudden strange feeling well up inside him. His body felt incredibly weak and his head began throbbing with huge amounts of pain.

Once the man turned to reveal the mask on his face and began to laugh in a sinister manner as he slowly walked towards the boy.

The man stopped a few centimetres away from him to look at his leg which had been stuck to the ground.

He barely put any effort into the pull and just as he did, the pieces of the sparkling gold chains which had tied up his legs came into view.

He began to laugh once again and slowly took off his mask to reveal a wrinkled face as he said, "So you have finally managed to master the concept of your void manipulation, eh now, number one."

Harry's eyes instantly widened as soon as he saw the man. His body began to tremble and his hand began to shake as he reached for his sword. His worst nightmare was standing right before him.
