I don't want to throw spoilers but although the MC is an anti-hero who will do anything to achieve his goals he sometimes puts others into consideration but depending on how the story goes he might turn evil after all the tragedy he faces.

Chapter 4: Battle Of A Life Time Part 1.

The following morning she slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was now lying on a bed in her room and there was no one next to her. Her wet clothes had been taken off and she was wearing a blue gown that went slightly past her knees.

Quickly she got up from the bed, ran straight to the window, and shifted the window curtain to her left. There she looked down from her room and Harry outside, fully dressed and ready to leave. He was currently talking to Lisa and the two men and it wouldn't be long before he would leave.

In haste, she changed into a more suitable outfit and went straight to the edge of her bed to take a sheathed sword that was lying there.

By the time she was ready to leave, she was now wearing slightly gray strides and a teal blouse with white designs and a flowery pattern by the waist which was split slightly by the sides.

She quickly ran out of her room and straight towards him. Harry was already done talking with Miss Lisa and the two men and was already almost outside the fence when he heard the footsteps of someone running towards him.

Out of instinct he drew his sword and turned around to face whoever it was that was coming after him only to see the same girl from last night just that she looked a little different this time.

" I think she looks taller." He thought with his gaze carefully fixed on her.

" I challenge you to a duel and the first to draw their opponent's blood wins." She said, unsheathing her blade.

Harry was left dumbfounded after hearing that. Looking at her he could never believe that she knew how to fight and yet here she was challenging him to such a duel.

" Fine, I accept your challenge but only with the belief that you must know what goes on in these types of duels." He said, his glare slowly turning into a rather cold one.

She nodded her head and pointed out her sword and he did the same as well. They both then went slightly backwards and each took their stance.

" Begin." She said as she quickly charged towards him.

A slanted sword came towards from the left and he was able to block it and quickly back away.

" You're better than last time." She said, sending another slash straight towards him from the same direction.

He didn't try to give much thought to what she had just said and that was when she quickly dashed towards him and sent another slash from the same direction once again.

This time, the moment he blocked the attack, she spun around towards his back, and just as he followed her movements he felt her sword right by the right side of his jaw.

He slightly shifted his head in order to catch a slight glimpse of the sharp silver blade that was grazing his cheek. She had stopped momentarily and as soon as his gaze went to the sword she quickly slashed at his cheek.

He quickly staggered backward with his hand on the wounded side of his cheek while staring at her in confusion.

She simply ignored him and sheathed her sword while saying, " I hope to face you another time."

" What was that about?" He thought while watching him walk back to where he had just come from.

As he turned around and began leaving voices began screaming out in his head and it instantly began throbbing with pain.

" Love me, be with me, bear this curse with me, you belong to me!" They continued to cry out.

After that, it was days after days of work and adventure for him, and even with all he did all he managed to make was the bare minimum with which he could sustain himself.

Now sitting on top of what looked like the top of a hill he carefully tied up a small pouch that had a few bronze coins inside it and slowly stood up from the ground.

After that day it was another time of searching for a manageable place to sleep and the next morning he had gone through another list of possible things he could afford to do for a living.

Earlier that day he found himself standing in the midst of a group of people and they were all standing in the middle of an open field.

There were many seats situated around the walls that enclosed them and there walls surrounding them. There was a man standing on a platform that was raised a few meters in front of them.

" Everyone welcome to this month's grand duel tournament. Without further Ado let us begin yet another great battle between grand warriors!" His voice boomed throughout the entire arena, " I have but one thing to tell all of you, come what may unless your heart and courage fail you then you haven't lost yet.,"

After that the fighters went to their respective stand and inside a room where they were all placed their names were taken on pieces of paper and shuffled to decide who was going to go against the other.

Now leaning against the wall Harry carefully looked around the wall and at his soon-to-be opponents and it left him questioning whether he would be able to actually make it to the knockout stages of the tournament.

" Based on the body build of the few alone I'll assume that they are between second and fourth degree and that's not enough the mages included." He thought as his gaze slowly went to the floor.

" Been a while since I actually saw a fighter actually trying to be conscious of his opponents. I'm definitely looking forward to facing off against you." He heard a voice come from the side.

He immediately turned his gaze to his right and saw a man with red hair and bright red eyes walking towards him with a slight smile on his face.

Harry didn't say anything as he slowly turned towards the man who continued to walk closer to him.

" Mind telling how old you are?" He questioned now standing right next to him.

" Eighteen." He replied, turning his face away.

" Eighteen?" The man said looking at him more intently, "You look a lot younger than you say you are but then again I guess experience will be to my advantage."

While the man was busy pestering him the shuffling was completed and the next fighters were instantly announced.

" For the first battle of the tournament, we have Roy Greenwood against Haze Casal."

" I guess that's my call and don't forget what I told." The man said with a slight giggle as he slowly walked away.

As soon as the participants went outside and into the arena all the other fighters went upstairs to watch their battle and if possible, evaluate the winner of the match.

Based on their names it was clear that this was a fight between a male and a female and just as usual Harry had decided to stay clear of other people as much as he could.

Roy was a mage who hadn't revealed what element he could wield and since he was a Greenwood it was difficult to discern which one it could be while his opponent was a black-haired lady who seemed to be around her thirties and was wielding a scythe.

It wasn't long before the match began and quickly Roy began to back away in order to gain an advantage but she wasn't going to let that happen and quickly charged towards him.

As soon as she took more than five steps forward toward him he quickly placed his hand on the ground and in an instant she went straight to her knees.

He pulled up his hand and began running around the arena. The lady was quick to get herself back up and quickly chased him but he repeated the same process once again and she instantly went straight to her knees.

As soon as she went to her knees he pulled up his hand once again and began to run around the arena.

It wasn't long before the lady was able to get a hold of herself once again and this time as she ran towards him, she instantly jumped up as high as she could and threw the scythe straight towards him and its handle opened up to reveal a long chain but just as it looked like it was about to hit him it strangely flung to the side and landed a few centimeters to his left.

She was instantly left staring at him in shock as he put his hand on the ground for the third time and this time she didn't fall to her knees rather she collapsed on the ground.

The crowd uproar went round the arena and all the other fighters were left dumbfounded at what had just happened but for the few high-level mages it wasn't anything special but how he had used it was what was commendable about it.
