Night Watch

Movement within the completed community walls was a sight to see, the day was beginning to disappear slowly and let the night time take over. The residents of those living here took notice of it as they all went to their respected places to rest. The community was not done, but that would change quickly for it was clear that jobs were all starting to emerge.

Razzak was walking around checking in on everyone else as they began to settle down for the night. His massive body could easily be seen by many others as he looked around.

The hunting pack would start up again at first light and he was looking around, checking in on those who were in the hunting packs. Razzak wanted to see if they were resting, after all rest was vital. Being tired would not capture any prey, and he wanted the hunting pack to know that.

Bloodmaw glanced over catching sight of Razzak, he was not that hard to miss.

"Those who are in the hunting pack listen up, you better get enough sleep. I do not want any of you all to be tired. If you are, you will get a rude response from me.", spoke Razzak as he walked with his head held high.

Jr frowned at the words he heard from Razzak, he looked at his father who looked at him silently.

"Get some sleep.", spoke Grim as he looked at Jr. "Don't let him scare you."

Jr sort of smiled at Grim, he lowered his head as he sighed.

Grim smiled lightly at Jr before looking at Razzak who was in the distance.

Scarface lowered his head down and raised a brow at Ruby who looked at him with worry as she said, "I think he is pushing you all to hard?"

Scarface sort of smiled, "He has to after all we are the lifeblood of this place. No food, we starve."

Ruby laid her head down beside Scarface as she looked at him with a small frown. "I know, I just don't know how to think about this."

Bloodmaw chuckled, "Don't worry, it will get better."

Adder smirked, "Yeah, Lockjaw and a few others are on watch for the night. While I am on watch during the day."

"Is that difficult?", asked Nina curiously.

Adder shook his head as he looked at her, "Nah, since there is a lot of activity going on outside we got to be careful. At least I get to protect you all from danger."

Ahnyx looked at Adder as he smiled coolly, "Don't go getting hurt though!"

Nina giggled as Adder rolled his eyes at Ahnyx.

"I mean it, you get hurt on your first day won't that look bad?", spoke Ahnyx giving Adder a teasing look.

Goong chuckled, "He does have a point?"

Adder frowned at them while Nina kept on giggling, "I won't over do it."

"Good!", chimed Ahnyx which made Cripple laugh some. Scalpmuzzle shook his head as he smiled, "No winning against a herbivore huh?"

"I'll say.", spoke Grim as he looked at Ahnyx with a light look of displeasure.

Bloodmaw chuckled some, "Get some rest everyone we all will need it."

Harmony smiled at Swiftscale and Ebony as they walked over with Eden and Enyo at their heels. Everyone was starting to get ready for sleep but a familiar face appeared, Amberhide grinned seeing that everyone was settled down.

"You guys ready to rest?", asked Amberhide curiously.

Bloodmaw nodded, "I think so? We got the wall done."

Amberhide smiled brightly, "I saw! That is one less thing to worry about!"

Helm and Dingo were not with everyone for the both of them was walking around checking out the community from the inside. They were making sure there was no weak points in the walls, cause if there were any then the blind could easily get in and hurt all that they have accomplished and done.

"Ahnyx, I like you to know that you have been chosen to the lead the health!", happily smiled Amberhide.

"Congrats!", smiled Scalpmuzzle.

"I knew you could do it!", cheered Cripple with a smile.

Gullet purred loudly as he looked at Ahnyx who was flustered about the news.

"Thank you so much!", smiled Ahnyx.

Amberhide smiled back as he nodded, "I told Razzak about how hard you were working so I kind of helped you there?"

Bloodmaw looked at Amberhide as he smiled, he blinked however as he said. "Did you know that there is another brute who wants to lead the community?"

Amberhide blinked as he looked at Bloodmaw, "Yes, Razzak said something about him today actually?"

"What do you think?", asked Bloodmaw curiously.

Amberhide looked down as he shrugged, "I don't know him that well but he is a hard worker?"

Grim frowned remembering who Bloodmaw was talking about, he looked at Bloodmaw and Amberhide silently.

"I don't know him either, but hard work is something different from what others need right?", spoke Bloodmaw looking at Amberhide seriously.

Amberhide smiled at Bloodmaw, "Right. But If something happens, there maybe a vote between the two of you. This is definitely going to be new, but hey if we can't decide let the whole community decide!"

Bloodmaw nodded at him, "I suppose that works?"

Amberhide smiled at him and he soon smiled at everyone else. "Rest well! Thank you for working hard today!"

Bloodmaw smirked as he watched him walk off, he looked at Grim as he smiled some. "What is it?"

Grim snorted lightly as he said, "Hmph, Vote? Those who don't vote for you are blind and foolish."

Bloodmaw chuckled, he looked at Ahnyx as he smiled. "I will vote for you."

"Thank you but that is still a little bit away.", chuckled Bloodmaw as he lowered his head to sleep. Everyone else had already made up their minds and he knew this, only cause they all said that they would vote for him. Just hearing that from everyone really touched his heart.

Goong laid down beside Ahnyx, and it was obvious that they all were starting to turn in.

Gambit looked to be in thought as he laid on his leaf, his eyes slowly looked at Wraith who hadn't moved since Ahnyx left for the night. She was sitting in front of him with her arms and legs crossed. Truthfully, she blended very well into the faintest of shadows and he hardly could see her even though she was directly in front of him.

A light sound occurred and he lifted his head up as he went to stand. He remembered what Wraith had said to him. She didn't want him giving anymore herbs to the one who she knew was known as Malice. Gambit frowned as he walked toward the sound and sure enough there was a silhouette approaching.

"Listen, I'm not going to help you tonight.", spoke Gambit as he looked at the one who clearly lied to him.

Malice froze up and she frowned giving him a heartbroken look, "What? Oh no did I do something wrong?"

Gambit was impressed by her voice and looks, she was a good actor and he honestly felt foolish for helping her at first.

"Please help me! I slept well because of you helping me!", spoke Malice as she softly approached Gambit. She didn't see Wraith and so she was going to try her hardest to make this dumb raptor help her again.

Gambit looked at her with faint wide eyes, was she that desperate for the herbs. Did they really help her or was she just saying that to him. "Look, if you really need them you need to come by in the middle of the day? The herbalist is not here and I hate to give you more without his permission?"

"You did it before for me! Please help me baby?", spoke Malice as she softly took a hold of his hand. "Please?"

God, she hated to beg for the fool. But she was determined to get the herbs. She looked at him with the most saddest of expressions that she could muster up. She mentally smiled however when she saw him beginning to crack.

"I...", Gambit frowned as he looked at the herbs that Ahnyx kept. His eyes looked at her before looking at the herbs, when he was about to turn around to retrieve them did he blink hearing a very aggressive tone.

"DON'T give her any!", hissed Wraith as she walked out from the darkness.

Gambit froze up and he looked down looking ashamed. "I'm sorry..."

Malice glared at Wraith who stood before the herbs with a angry fire within her eyes. She looked at Gambit as she softly spoke, "Don't apologize baby, you can do whatever you want."

Wraith blinked and looked disgusted, "Gambit! Don't you remember what I told you!"

Gambit looked at Wraith and he yelped loudly as he was pushed sharply forward, he felt a faint pain as he was pushed. His back hurt as he fell to the ground but was surprised when he didn't hit the ground, he looked up as he noticed that Wraith quickly moved to capture him.

Wraith looked at Gambit concerned before looking up fast and glaring sharply as she watched Malice grab a hand full of herbs and ran off with them. "MALICE!?!"

Gambit looked down, he looked guilty as he did so. It was because of him that she got away.

Wraith held onto Gambit as she watched Malice disappear from view.

Malice disappeared into the shadows as she snickered under the starry sky.

"Damn it.", hissed Wraith. "I told you didn't I!"

Gambit refused to look at her, his eyes were closed as he said nothing.

Wraith looked ready to rip his head off but blinked as she felt something wet upon his back. She looked at her hand to see blood and she frowned sourly at the sight of it. Malice had hurt him, and she knew what she was going to do too. Wraith growled under her breath as she moved to stand up, she even helped Gambit to stand. "Come on you imbecile..."

Gambit looked greatly defeated, he was told to not help her and yet he broke. He sighed in a downhearted way as he was made to lay down as Wraith sees to his back.

"I'm not fit to be here...", spoke Gambit as he looked down at the ground. The leaf he was laying on did little to comfort him and his thoughts.

"Shut up will you.", spoke Wraith as she placed more herbs on his back.

"I did it again, after you told me not too.", replied Gambit with a heavy frown upon his face.

Wraith stopped while patching up his back, she looked at him silently as she watched him. The raptor before her looked done, and it was like he was waiting for the greatest of punishments to come down upon him and strike him. It was her turn to look down, she looked at him silently as she said. "Look don't go getting all sad on me, you made a mistake we all make them."

"...", Gambit was silent as she spoke.

Wraith sighed taking notice of the silence, "You are more fit to be here than I am so don't give me that wounded warrior crap!"

Gambit looked at her as she said that, "Wraith..?"

Wraith looked at him with a sharp look, "What I will not tell you...!"

Wraith froze up as she felt a hand reach out and touch her face, she looked at Gambit bewildered before blinking a few times as he stroked her cheek.

"You are fit to be here too. I rather have you here with me anyway...", unconsciously spoke Gambit as he stared at her.

Wraith stared back before she closed her eyes as she smacked his hand away, "Shut up already!"

Gambit sort of smiled, "Okay..."

Wraith finished patching up his back, she looked at Gambit silently before looking down for a moment. She stood up and lightly patted Gambit's head as she walked over to the herbs. "I'm going to do a count on the herbs. You rest up you idiot."

Gambit looked at her stunned before smiling lightly, he watched her curiously as he felt a little better than before.

Lockjaw was walking around outside much like the others picked to stand watch at night. The darkness had fully crept in, and the land around them was completely black due to the night.

His eyes hardened as he picked up a sound in the distance, and he glanced at his side as another rex walked over to him to investigate the sound. It would seem that the blind beast were very curious about the tall walls.
