Combative

The sounds that lingered outside would make any living thing cower, and the aggression grew as each second passed by. Rigor was impatiently watching and waiting while he watched what was happening outside of the wall. Usually, the blind were curious and as such they investigated new things.

But this was worrisome. It was like the blind knew what was about to happen and that didn't sit well with Rigor who was shaking. It was hard to tell that he was however but he was.

Just what did the blind know that he didn't know?

"I believe they will be attacking us, and quite hard from how things are looking.", huffed Lockjaw who was watching the outside with Rigor.

The wall had been fixed constantly thanks to the blind and their desperation to get in. It was extremely difficult to fix the wall due to how many predators lurked outside of the safe zone. The community was supposed to be looking up, and the herbivores were supposed to be outside growing things, but how could they with the blind so riled up.

It made many of the inhabitants restless and actually fearful, some didn't even want to go outside. But they would have to eventually, in order to supply food. If they didn't then they would grow weaker and pretty much starve to death.

Out of all deaths starvation was probably the worst, and Lockjaw didn't want that for his family. The large brute was extremely tempted to go out there by himself and kill a few off, but the numbers that the blind had were incredible. It was like the numbers grew every single night, and it only got worse as time went on. Before to long, they would have a massive pack of blind running in and ruining what they had worked so hard to accomplish.

The community would surely fall.

"Razzak had mentioned something about going out there tonight?", spoke Rigor who could feel his lips going dry.

Lockjaw merely huffed out in his response as he looked at Rigor who seemed to be frozen in place. He said that yet his body said something entirely different from his words.

"You don't have to go out there, it is quite clear you are not ready for this.", Lockjaw's tone was rather cold and detached.

Rigor looked at Lockjaw in surprise before frowning sharply, he even bared his fangs. "This place is my home! If I can't protect it then who will!"

Lockjaw faintly smirked at his words, as his eyes shifted to the many forms that moved outside. The sizes were different which gave hint to different age groups of blind. Even if they managed to scare the blind off, food was no doubt a good distance away. The hunters would have to travel further away from the community which meant more risks.

"This is your home, but if you are getting cold feet now, maybe you need to change your mind.", snorted Lockjaw who held no tolerance for cowards. "You fight or you don't, figure that out now."

Rigor's mouth closed as he looked down, there was some truth behind what the rex said. His eyes looked outside again, his eyes soon narrowed as he thought deeply about what he should do.

Lockjaw turned his gaze to look at Clade who was walking up, his eyes soon landed on Rigor who was thinking hard about his choices.

"Razzak is on his way, are you guys ready?", asked Clade who flicked his claws that rested on his hands.

Lockjaw nodded before shifting his large head to look at Rigor who looked at the both of them. Rigor nodded firmly which made Lockjaw stare at him, when they go out there will he see if Rigor has what it takes to survive.

He was young and had energy, that and he was very fast but that only went so far in this world. Strength and intelligence were two things, though different they actually helped to keep many alive. By having both, would ensure their survival.

Lockjaw shifted his gaze to look at who would be partaking in this activity of theirs. Adder was there much like Grim, but a new face was there though it wasn't really new for Devastate was taking part in this game.

The behemoth nodded at Lockjaw as he stood at his side, his eyes then looked at Razzak who was walking up with his head held high. His maw was raised to show a angry looking sneer, which gave away his intentions. Razzak was ready to kill some creatures and quite viciously in fact if his fangs didn't already give that away.

"Tonight, we are going to kill a few of them ugly bastards. Let them know that we are not playing.", hissed Razzak as he looked at all who were gathered around him. "Help each other and do not show fear! We can't give them a opening, that is not a option!"

Rigor literally could feel his heart rattle in his chest, but the words from Lockjaw were going off like a active angry hive in his head. He hardened his eyes as he tried to push away any feelings that could most likely hinder him. This was about survival, and he couldn't afford to be afraid.

Razzak looked outside, he soon walked outside into the darkness with his head shifting slowly from side to side. He was warming up his body to the damage that he was about to do.

Clade followed after Razzak as well as Adder and Grim. Lockjaw walked outside though he glanced behind himself to see Rigor who was following him. The behemoth was right beside Rigor as they walked, his eyes were looking at the ceratosaurus who seemed ready to go after the blind. But looks can sometimes be misleading.

Would his fear make him a target, even after him trying so hard to push it aside? That would be determined now.

Razzak was the first to come into contact with a beast, whose body soon collapsed at Razzak's feet. Blood stained the ground that was practically black due to the darkness that was all around them. Razzak kept walking forward while leading his small attack group into this battle of theirs. The plan was to kill a few of them and let them see that they mean business.

Adder watched as some of the inexperienced creatures backed away, while those who were bigger began to walk forward. The blind were more than ready to deliver some heavy damage, the chance of blood only seemed to excite them.

Grim grabbed a hold of a blind rex by the throat and Clade approached while slicing the throat of the rex with his claws. The low gurgling that emerged from the animal was rather loud as it fell to the floor.

Rigor blinked as a blind allosaurus ran at him, he quickly dodged away before the animal could get a hold of him. He then jumped onto the back of the allosaurus as he snapped his jaws on the back of the neck. His eyes went wide as he saw a familiar form coming at his side, it was Devastate.

The behemoth grabbed a hold of the allosaurus by its head, and a loud crushing sound came from his jaws. The strength and pressure of his jaws made the allosaurus yowl out loudly in pain before quickly silencing. Rigor hopped off as Devastate picked up the limp body of the allosaurus and threw it at a blind rex that didn't expect it.

One by one, the blind fell all thanks to the strength and teamwork from Razzak and his crew. Each time that a blind beast fell, another took its place. It honestly didn't seem like it was about to let up, but they pushed onward making sure to have each other's back.

Adder slammed his head into the side of a rugops, he hit the animal so hard it fell to the floor and right away he moved slamming his large feet onto its head before it could stand back up. Adder looked up as a carnotaurus ran at him but a large jaw grabbed a hold of the blind carnivore. The sounds that came from its mouth was wild and aggressive though it let out a pained cry as the jaws increased its strength.

Adder looked at the owner of the jaws and he smiled to see that it was Lockjaw. He returned his gaze on the blind as some were beginning to back off, his eyes shifted to Lockjaw who lifted the beast and shook it around violently until all movement had left from its body. Afterwards did Lockjaw drop the corpse with a strong snort.

They had apparently won this battle, for now.

Razzak stood there with blood stained jaws, his eyes were focused on the blind who were backing off. There forms were slowly leaving from his line of sight, but making sure that it was safe he stood there and watched.

Due to their teamwork they suffered only small wounds from the blind but something told them that they would return. It was like a cycle for more would appear and take the places of those that they killed. Rigor shook his head as he tried to get rid of a chill that went down his spine.

Lockjaw merely smirked, it would seem that Rigor could survive after all.

Razzak turned away once the coast was clear, "Good job tonight, but remain vigilant."

Lockjaw nodded as he watched Razzak walk back toward the community with a strong presence about him. He was confident about what had happened, that and he was happy that they didn't lose anyone.

Adder smiled at Lockjaw as he walked back, he had a small bite on his shoulder but it wasn't anything serious. Grim soon followed after Adder while shaking his large head.

"Guess you can fight.", scoffed out a lightly impressed Lockjaw.

Rigor smirked, "Once I put my mind to it I can!"

Lockjaw turned away as he huffed, "Don't get cocky."

Rigor smiled before looking at Devastate who was looking out into the dark unknown. "Hey? You alright?"

Devastate looked at him as he nodded, "Yeah, just listening."

Rigor approached him while Clade followed after Lockjaw back inside the safety of the community wall. "For what?"

Devastate looked around silently before he replied, "It seems calmer now but the air is still tense."

Rigor frowned as he looked around also, "You think they will come back?"

Devastate looked at him with a serious gaze before walking away, "Probably, best to keep our guard up."

Rigor watched him leave before looking out into the darkness, he felt another chill go down his spine which made him squint uncomfortably. Just why did he have the chills all of a sudden, and why did he still feel unsure. Perhaps, the blind affected him more than he had thought.

Slowly he turned around to follow after Devastate who was already walking inside of the community.

The darkness continued to roll over the lands, the moonlight was slowly casting a soft glow upon the leaves of the trees. Rustling of those very same leaves were loud but not as loud as the sound of movement.

Reza was walking along with a small group that was following behind her, her eyes were very alert as she made her way back toward the community however they still had a ways to go. There was a mixture of carnivores and herbivores who were interested in the idea of the community.

She had told them about it and as such she was leading them there. The sounds around them were rather peaceful though she maintained her guard. Reza blinked however as she heard a distant sound, the sound of branches cracking.

Not wanting to risk her small group did she tell them to rest there for the night. As she watched them all began to settle down, did she walk off toward the sound of the breaking of branches. She slowly walked forward with her eyes narrowing, who or what was waiting for her, she was without a doubt ready to take them on.

Though, she froze as a voice spoke upon the cold breeze of the night. "Hello Reza, It has been a while?"

Reza looked to her side slowly, the voice she knew all to well. She honestly didn't expect to see him so soon, after all he had vanished for quite sometime. "..."

She didn't say anything to the brute who was slowly making his way toward her, and upon his maw was a bone chilling smile.
