Welcome to the world of Rengard

The world of Rengard is one full of stories and legends of heroes and villains, there are stories of mighty kingdoms and empires, as well as the rise and fall of civilizations.

although the stories of old are a main part of the world, this wouldn't be possible without the many intelligent species living on this beautiful planet.

Now one thing to know about the world of Rengard is there exists this mysterious power utilized by the world's intelligent species, and that power is called Mana.

Now speaking of intelligent species, this world is populated by more creatures than just humans, one of the most noteworthy species in Rengard are the High Elves, a mysterious race of forest dwellers who shy away from outside contact as much as possible.

Then there's the Dark elves, a subspecies of High Elves who adapted to a darker environment such as dense forests and caverns, while they also live in relative solitude, Dark Elves also mingle with other species occasionally, although some may enter the human world they are regarded as neutral creatures who can be good or evil

Next, we have the Wood Elves, while they closely relate to High Elves, Wood-elves have civilizations outside of the forest, and through time there had even been Elven kingdoms who rose and fell, although they have differences. most elves no matter the subspecies have an unparalleled proficiency in archery and magic, but be careful, no matter which type of elf it is they all have immense pride and quite frankly a superiority complex.

Moving away from elves, there is a race of master craftsmen and blacksmiths called Dwarves, Dwarves as said before are master artisans and craftsmen, while their main trade is passive don't be mistaken, the Dwarves are a proud race who will fight to the last man.

Next, we have the physically powerful but dull mana wise, Beastmen, they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes but the main 3 are the Wolfmen, who are known for their strong yet agile fighting style, the Bearmen, who are slower but built like natural tanks, and last but certainly not least, the Foxmen, who unlike their other counterparts are quite proficient in the use of magic, specifically spirit arts.

Another interesting race is the Halflings, what they lack in size and combat ability they make up in tracking, trap laying, and alchemy skills, standing at a whopping 1.3 meters, these little guys are perfect for squeezing into tight spaces and moving undetected.

Moving on to some of the more "Evil" races, let's start with the Vampires, the legend goes that three brothers, Claudias, Vesius, and Maxius, made a blood pact with the evil god Braxus in an attempt to achieve eternal youth and life, but little did they know that the gift of immortality came with some side effects the biggest being they have to drink blood and mainly human blood at that, we anyways after they made the pact they turned into the three blood progenitors of the whole Vampire race and every offshoot.

Speaking of offshoots, next we have the Dhampirs, these creatures are a result in a human and Vampire having a child, while Vampires can make humans into lesser vampires and the sort, Dhampirs can bite people and make them into ghouls and other types of lesser monsters.

Next, we have a race of intelligent brutes... kinda, the next race is the High Orcs, although orcs are usually associated with mindless brutes, the high orcs are creatures with intelligence almost on par with humans, they have their own civilizations, infrastructure, caste system, and they even have rich culture among the groups.

continuing from where we left off, the next race is the Orcs, yes, they're different, the normal orcs are the savage green creatures that you think of when you hear their name, although rare some orcs can evolve into high orcs, and although they're savages, orcs do have simple intelligence just nothing special.

Next, we have the Hobgoblins, like the high orcs they are a smarter more civilized version of goblins, although they haven't made any kingdoms the Hobgoblins have formed tribes and clans, plus though they may not be the strongest creature they make up for that with their versatility, Hobgoblins instead of having a class like other races, they can have a sort of have a minor evolution, for example, a normal hobgoblin can evolve into a hobgoblin warrior then a hobgoblin apprentice swordsmen and so on, this phenomenon is one of the many mysteries of Rengard.

speaking of which next are your basic goblins like previously mentioned, they have basic intelligence which only amounts to them forming tribes and warbands, the goblins only care about eating and procreating... *gag* I might throw up and I'm a god, back to the topic, the goblins either die or evolve that's pretty much how it goes, their strength isn't anything special, what's really devastating is when they are in great numbers, a goblin horde of a couple hundred could steamroll through a small town. p.s. they make good minions ;)

next up we have the Lizardmen, the lizardmen are a proud species of warriors who are said to have descended from the legendary dragons, of course after so long the dragon blood within them is highly diluted but nonetheless they still carry immense pride with them everywhere they go.

continuing from there we have the Dragonewts, these people are the evolved form of lizardmen, the dragon blood within them is purer than that of a lizardman, they boast powerful combat skills on the ground and in the air since they have wings that also couple as weapons themselves. because of their appearance and higher affinity for black magic, most people (aka humans) think of them as nothing but monsters, so they lean a little more towards the evil side.

Next, we have the Demons, these evil creatures come in all shapes and sizes, there are many different demon types but some of the most notable are the succubus aka horny demon, the red demon who excels in physical strength, the blue demon who is the best at wielding mana and magic, and last but not least the grey demons who can become some of the best assassins in the world if trained right, every once and a while a demon will evolve and become what's called a Demon king, these kings work just like human ones do they reign over their kingdom but they aren't world devastating beings, the real powerhouse of the demon race is the Demon Lords, these selected individuals are either selected from the demon kings alive at that point or summoned by the demon goddess Ellis, quite an underwhelming name I know.

next, we have humans, the humans are a special species because they don't excel at any one thing, to sum it up humans are like the jack of all trades in Rengard, plus with the help of the leveling system and classes it makes getting stronger way easier for humans (which I think is unfair but hey all creatures have the leveling system so meh) just like how Demon lords are chosen or summoned, human "Heroes" are summoned to this world.

every few centuries those children- I mean gods will summon a demon lord and between one to a few heroes to duke it out for their entertainment, little do they know Ellis and I have a huge surprise in store for them.

some honorable mentions would be Dragons, although there aren't anywhere near as many dragons as the other races the dragons are still feared deeply by everyone, you can break the dragons into three stages, first a normal dragon, second a giant dragon who boasts almost twice the strength of a normal dragon and is of course giant, and last there are the ancient dragons, not much is known about them since they live in seclusion but it's safe to say one of them has the power to destroy a whole kingdom by themselves.

and last but definitely not least we have the gods, yes you heard me right the gods, once upon a time in Rengard the gods didn't interfere in the lives of the inhabitants, they left them to their own devices but then the gods got bored and greedy so they made their presence known and ordered churches to be built, statues in their image and all sorts of things, that's also when the cycle of hero vs demon lord started, the time before the gods were called the godless era, the mana was thicker back then and the world flourished more but that's a story for another time,

Though Rengard is home to many more creatures and even more intelligent and semi-intelligent creatures, that pretty much covers the immediate information needed. well, time for some axillary info, in Rengard the existence of mana has brought the rise of magic beasts as well as demon beasts, magic beasts use mana to strengthen themselves and, in some cases, even live longer and become intelligent, demon beasts, on the other hand, live for slaughter and destruction, although demon beasts use mana as well it's only to strengthen themselves so they can kill more creatures faster.

Well, now that you are acquainted with Rengard I think it's time I tell you about the situation upstairs so to speak well there- oh it seems it's starting! Well, I guess I can't just throw you straight into the story without some background info first, so... who wants to hear the story of James Lionheart? or as he's most commonly referred to as... Emperor James "The Great"!
