Chapter 19 The Assistant Secretary

After Josief went in he turned to the kitchen and made some meat delicacy, when he was alone after they all had died, he had learned how to cook for himself.

The delicious aroma from Josiefs food cooking passed through the whole house, it awoke everyone up. When they all saw that the Josief was cooking, it felt like they had been dropped bombshell on. His sisters, his brother, Maria and even his parents were all stupidly shocked from the sight they were seeing.

They started to whisper with each other and speculate about what was going around. When suddenly scared out of their wits, they heard Josief talk to them.

"Oh" You guys come here and help prepare the table, the food is just about to be ready." Josief said while cooking.

Everyone in that moment thought the same question "How did he know, we were here?". They were truly baffled, but came out and helped decorate the table. After everyone had eaten and enjoyed the breakfast, Josiefs parents left for work, to which that left Josief, his sisters and Maria home alone.

Josief went straight up to his room, as he was very fatigued and in of need sleep. While Josief went to rest, Maria and his sisters went to the living room and watched movies.

The strong blizzard continued to breeze over Jolly city. Two huge glass towers with a tunnel between each other. A lady, Josiefs mother had just passed through the doors and went in for work.

While Katrina came to the company, she saw that many of the staff members were whispering to each other. This intrigued her so she went to a group of them to ask.

"What are you all talking about?

When the staff members heard the voice, they all became scared half to death and turned to look at her.

"Oh, Hello, senior! For a second there you scared me, i thought you were the manager there for a moment"

Katrina started showing an expression of being vexed, but she calmed down and snicker from that comment. The Manager was Leina Lee, who was her older sister. Katrina had heard many times of how she sounded like her older sister, but that was the only shred of proof of their sisterly bond.

The reason was that since they were small youths, Katrina had gotten more attention since she was smarter and better at school, to which led that Leina was growing up with the dangerous groups of people as thugs and gangster. Which led to the future that she slept with the COO(1) and got the position of manger through the black door, while Katrina worked all up to just to be assistant secretary for her sister.

Who can't do the job right and which all falls down to Katrina, who has to do all the work, just to keep her job.

Was it disgusting, disgraceful and shameful.

Katrina started showing an expression of being very frustrated, but she calmed down to continue listen to what the staffs were gossip about.

"Have you not heard the news senior? The CEO and the Hotaru family ended the engagement between them."

"Oh!" This news straight away caught interest of Katrina. In Jolly city many had heard of their CEO, Melina Swiess. She was an intelligent, beautiful, cold women, to which the staff members called her who had made the company from nothing. She was a truly perfect to the women, and was given the nickname, the "Ice fairy Queen of Jolly City" from people around her. Katrina was no different as she admired Melina as many young ladies did.

As Katrina was shocked by the news, a displeasing voice was heard behind her.

"Assistant secretary." Katrina turned around and saw her big sister starring at her.

Leina was a stunning women, her shoulder length brown hair, her charming hazel eyes, her captivating pale skin color that glowed while having no wrinkles on her attractive face, a hourglass figure which showed off her mature assets.

When Katrina saw her sister, she felt mixed feelings. Their relationship was very complicated, it was a love and hate type of relationship. Katrina hated her sisters way of doing things and her life style, but she still loved her deeply much as her sister.

While Katrina was starring at her, the staffs had already left and went to do their respected jobs, which left them all alone together.

"Come with me, the CEO wants to see you"

Leina then quickly turned against to the elevators, and left her sister confused.

"The CEO wants to see me?" Katrina was truly confused, she tried to remember if she had done anything wrong in the past, but nothing came up on her mind, "I have not done anything wrong, so why does the CEO want to meet me?". Her stopped to think about it and quickly ran after her sister.

Leina escorted Katrina all up to the highest floor, there continued to walk until they came upon and stopped right in front of a bronze and iron colored door.

She then turned around and looked at her sister, she opened her mouth and was just about to say something, but stopped right before and walked away.

Katrina looked at the door in front of her, she knocked at the door and waited for a reply to come.

"Come in!"

When she heard the reply, she started heavy panting, and getting anxious. She calmed down just some seconds after, "Okey! Let's go. 3..2.. and 1.", she opened the door and walked in.

When Katrina came in she saw Melina sitting in her chair writing down at some papers.

Melina then quickly looked up from her desk to Katrina and smiled.

"Good morning, Assistant Secretary Miss Lee!"

"G-good morning, Miss CEO!"

Katrina looked at Melina while her palms started to sweat, and gave a quick and nervous stuttering answer back.

Melina replied with a smile back to which made Katrina feel like the atmosphere was a little less tense and more comfortable.

"I was seeking through some of our documents and archives, and i found many of your involvements and achievements, which i must say were outstanding, especially with the way you had handled the issues with dealing against the four families in these past weeks. I must applaud to your your hard work for the company."

Katrina stood still and was utterly shocked with all these praises from Melina. She just stood there hearing Melina talk while her eyes were nearly bawling out and a stupid grin was slowly expressing on her face.

Melina then stopped talking and looked at her eyes. A moment of no one talking, just peace and silence had passed. Melina rose up and took out her hand for Katrina and said.

"I am in need of such a capable assistant secretary as you?"

Katrina nearly become pale as a ghost hearing this. She was so stunned from the request and was gone, and they just stood there with Melina and her hand out doing nothing.
