Chapter Six

I reached my phone to turn off my alarm.

10:00AM

Oh, it's just 10:00 in the mor—

OH SHOOT! My class begins in 30 minutes.

I hurriedly went to the bathroom to take a bath, put on my clothes and then rush out of the house. I was running when some car revved up its engine and honk its horn at me which startled me. But I continued running because I have no time to mind that person.

"Hey, Yannie!" It was Gelo.

I stopped and looked over at him.

"Yeah? Can we talk later? I'm running late for my class!"

"I'll drive you to your school. Get in!" He said.

"What? No! I mean it's okay, it's just a few blocks. I'm gonna make it."

"Come on, Yannie. I'll drop you off in front of St. John's."

I surrendered. I got on his car and put the seatbelt on. Besides, even if I ran as fast as I could, I'll never make it.

We arrived at St. John's 5 minutes before 10:30. I hurriedly got out of his car and ran. I shouted thank you and then dashed through the door.

After my class, I stayed a little bit in the classroom. I checked my phone and saw messages from Gelo. One from this morning and another just minutes ago.

"Text me when you're free." He said.

I wonder what this is about? I texted him back.

"Hey, what is it?"

"Uhm, wanna grab coffee with me after your class?"

"Uhm sure. I'm about to head out. Where will I meet you?"

"I'm right outside your school. Haha."

My face heated up. Nah, he didn't wait for me. Why would he do that? Haha. Don't assume things, Yannie. You've only known him for like a week?

When I got out of the main entrance, I immediately saw Gelo sitting in front of his car. I came near him.

"Hey." I said shyly.

"Hey, let's go?"

"Uhm, sure."

While driving, I started out a topic.

"You don't have classes today?" I asked.

"Nope. I waited for you. I have nothing else to do, and I wanted to pick you up from school just like I promised."

Okay.. speechless.. hahaha. Is my face turning red? Oh my gosh.

"Ahmeanahyoudonhavtowa—" I barely got a sentence out of my mouth. I was really speechless.

"Haha. It's okay Yannie. I wanted to, that's why I did it."

Ha-ha. Stop it, Gelo! The last person to have this kind of effect to me was Kit. Nooooo! Kit didn't have this effect on me. It's my first time feeling this way over a guy.

After that, we pretty much just had coffee and talked about almost everything under the sun, and what felt like days, was just three hours. I didn't know you could be talking to someone for that long and not be bored.

He dropped me off in front of my house like what he wanted and what he promised. Just like his routine after we meet, he texted me that he enjoyed today and that he wanted to see me again tomorrow, since I don't have classes tomorrow, I agreed... with excitement..

"See you tomorrow, Yannie."
