24 Burn along in hell with me

The dust settled and the smoke started to clear, Kevin watched as Ali's figure slowly became more clear in his eyes. Seeing him walking forward alone with nothing but that just one megaphone in his hands, only infuriated him further.

Looking at Ali's figure, his whole body was covered in blood and cuts. His clothes looked so filled with red that it was hard to imagine if they were ever made of a different color. From where he stood, Kevin could see several bite marks on Ali's hands and neck, yet the zombies around him ignored him and rushed towards their base.

"This bastard wants to drag me down with him." Kevin muttered, as he realized what Ali wanted to do. There was no way that Ali was gonna survive a single day with all those wounds and infection, but this guy was still here, just to kill him.

'I made a mistake.' Kevin thought as he realized how crazy this guy had become. He never thought Ali would do something like this. Raiding his base, attacking him with a horde of zombies, even when many innocents were living here, or when he knew Aarvi was here too - he really made a big mistake.

Kevin wasn't sure how many of his minions ran away, were wounded or were on the verge of death - the wall around and near the front gate of his base was all broken. While cracks had appeared in several other places. And with the onslaught of zombies gathering outside, it won't be hard before even those crumble and fall apart, giving way to even more zombies.

Kevin watched as dozens of zombies tried to rush inside his base, pushing against each other, trying to fit inside and move forward. The cries of agony and screams of despair roaring inside the base were calling all the zombies to their place. The scent of blood from those who died or got wounded was arousing the hunger of every infected outside. As they pushed other zombies down and stepped over them while running forwards, trying to get to their meal as fast as possible.

The entire base was thrown into chaos as people started running everywhere in fear, but no matter where they ran off to, the fact that they were all surrounded scared them even more. Some people who had guns were shooting whoever they saw in sight or came near them, be it human or zombies. The crowd and chaos was making it hard to distinguish one from the other. Soon even those people ran out of ammo and started running around for their life.

–save me, I don't wanna die.-- don't shoot, it's me. We met for lunch yesterday – don't run around – stop jamming my way – why did all these zombies come here – someone stop that music, did phones started working again? – There's a thing called recording cassettes and battery megaphone, you idiot. Now move. – who said long rods were good for fighting against zombies, give me my gun back, damn it.-- this is for cheating on me bitch, go get a new makeup ahahha –

All kinds of loud chatter could be heard in the air, people were confused, scared and anxious - all of them, running for their own life, as they gave up their morality and acted on their instincts. Some gave up in despair and started killing even other humans and exacting revenge for even a pitiful of an offense. Some just shot themselves and jumped in front of a gun so they don't turn into an undead creature and roam around like that.

In just a few minutes, the scene of the lively camp was entirely changed. The Haven they built was turning into hell, the figure moving in smoke looked like realers ready to take their souls next. The environment was heart wrenching to see, the death and destruction was inhumane - yet even all this didn't affect the one who started everything at all.

Ali just kept standing there, pushing a few zombies and infected one's away, who still came to bite him even in all this chaos.

Would he regret taking all these innocent lives for no reason - maybe , maybe not. But he was sure, he'd regret not taking the lives of his enemies.

So he didn't care. Or maybe he couldn't care anymore. Because now, when the smell of blood was permeating everywhere, even he felt that hunger and instinct to move forward and follow it. Yet he could still manage to suppress it.

"You kicked me out, so I called my friends. Is that rude of me." Ali said while smiling at the cries and despair covering the air. He took a long breath and exhaled loudly, feeling refreshed. He now realized that when you're not the one at the receiving end of it, the smell of despair does wonders to one's mind.

"What did you do, you bastard?" One man came forward, rushing at Ali. His face was covered in ash and smoke, as he swung his fist at Ali's face.

Ali blocked it with the megaphone and then bashed that on his head. The speaker broke in pieces as the man's head started bleeding and he fell down.

"You_ you don't come near. I'm warning you." The man started ranting as he tried to back away from Ali.

But Ali placed his foot over the man's leg and stopped him. "I remember you. You were one of the men who were with me on that day right. When three of your 'friends' died, and you lot blamed me."

"Tell me, do you miss your friends?" Ali said as he bent down, and grabbed his collar.

"No, I _ I didn't. Don't. It was Kevin. He asked me, it was his fault. I'll tell you everything, tell Aarvi everything too, Please, ple _ ahhhhh."

The man was pleading for his life after seeing the crazed face of Ali so close, his instincts weren't screaming at him to run away, to beg for mercy - and he did all that, but sadly Ali had no mercy left for him. He slashed the broken megaphone on that man's face and pressed the sharp edges to carve out scratches all over his skin.

"It's too late now." Ali said, after making the man's face a bloody painting of mountains and stars.

Ali threw away the megaphone and took out a long knife from his waist. Ignoring the zombies, he charged forward, towards anyone whom he recognized as followers of Kevin. He wanted to kill them with his own hands.

Ali was on his rampage when someone hit him from behind, making him stumble over his steps. He felt something break inside his back with that attack, but he didn't feel any pain now. It was all just numb.

Ali lunged towards the man, using his hand to block another hit from the wooden stick. Instead of the squeal of pain, came an excited smirk from his face, that said "My turn" Without saying anything, Ali thrust the knife in his hand into the man's stomach, cutting his guts and slashing those intestines. He pulled it back and plunged it back again, this time even deeper. The man fell over Ali's shoulder as he lost all his strength. While Ali just grabbed his neck and kept stabbing him again and again. After doing it 3-4 times more, when he felt no movement from the body in his arms, he stabbed it once again and then kicked him away. The man's body fell down to the ground with half his guts spilling out.

Ali licked the blood on that knife and closed his eyes, as his body felt the sensation of hunger even more. "Hold on body. Just a tad bit more." Ali said to himself, as he put away the knife and picked the wooden stick from the ground.

He only had one goal left and that was to kill Kevin, and then he can rest.

"They were innocent, they did nothing to you. You monster." A muscular man came forward and punched Ali in the face, breaking one of his teeth.

Ali spewed a mouthful of blood and smiled at the man. "Innocent, guilty - what does it matter? We're all pawns in the game of fate right. I'm the villain and he's the hero." Ali seemed to be talking to himself as he continued speaking, while getting punched continuously. "Since that's the case then why is it surprising that the villain went crazy. Didn't the world force me into the corner. I was happy, I was living, and now I'm here in hell."

"So burn along with me." Ali said as he brought the knife out and stabbed it in the man's neck, killing him swiftly. His body fell over Ali, bathing him in the fountain of blood.

Ali pushed the burly man's body from over him and stood up. 'Those punches packed a punch, it freaking stings.' Ali said as he licked the blood where his tooth used to be.

"What the hell have you done?" A girl said as she fell down on her knees and started crying. She grabbed Ali's feet and started pulling his clothes as she cried continuously.

"What I did? I just called my dumb stupid friends here, so they can learn something. This is a school, after all." Ali said as he moved past her, pulling a zombie from the side and throwing him on her direction.

"Ali.." Aarvi muttered under her breath as she looked at the man whom she couldn't even recognize anymore. A tear slipped out her eyes, yet no other words came out from her mouth. As Ali said, it was too late now.
