I Hate Cooking

Austin walked up to the front door. Alora thought she was going to faint when he knocked on the door and Allison opened it.

"Ace." She hugged him. "Good to see you again."

"And it is good to see you too. Call me Austin"

Ally turned to her sister and asked, "Eonni, geu salam ne namjachinguya?" [Korean for Sister, is he your boyfriend?]

Alora looked like a tomato as she stuttered. "Geuneun aniya." [No, he is not.]

"Doesn't mean I won't." He replied.

Alora's face seemed to turn so red, it looked like it was bleeding. "I didn't know you understand Korean."

"I actually do."

"Come in."

Ally pulled him inside and a blonde woman was sitting on a chair knitting with a young brown haired boy. She smiled when she saw them and the boy hugged him without speaking.

"Good evening Mrs Silver. I am Austin Cannon, Alora's friend." Austin said, adding emphasis to the word 'friend.' He smiled warmly and kissed the back of her hand. "I am really hounored to meet you."

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you." She blushed.

"I had come to drop her off so, I decided to say hi."

"Mom, can he stay for dinner?" The brown haired boy asked.

"We don't want to keep you waiting." Lorna said, prying her son from him. "Zeke, go to your room."

"No, it's okay, Mrs Cannon. I would love to stay."

"That would be great."

"In that case, Ally, please take your brother to my car and whatever you bring out is yours. No fighting."

"Yay." Allison and Zeke ran outside and began raiding his car.

Alora looked like she was about to faint and Austin turned to her. "What were you expecting me to do with the toys and groceries?"

"Yo-u you knew my mother would say yes?"

"Of course, I did."

Lorna went to the kitchen. "I would have to start cooking."

"Oh, no no no, Mom." She paused and bit her lip. "I'll cook."

"What?" Lorna was suprised. Her daughter hated cooking and it was quite rare that she offered to. "Okay." She stepped out of the kitchen.

Ally and Zeke had taken the vegetables and the rest of the things Austin bought to the kitchen and began playing with the toys while Austin and Lorna watched.

"Look, I got a Barbie. She is much cuter that you."

Zeke was insulted. "Umma ne, tell Allison that I am cute.

"Allison, your brother is cute."

"Okay, you are both very cute." Austin said. Grabbing Ally, he began tickling her.

"No, no." She giggles. "Stop."

"You are cute and cute girls deserve to be tickled."

She escaped and resumed playing.

"I am going to check on Lora." Lorna stood up and walked to the kitchen.

"I'll come." He whispered and they both hid behind the door and watched her.
