Zabuza

Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura were already close to Tazuna when the mist was finished… the visibility was so bad that they barely could see Kakashi five meters ahead.

"What the hell is this… kids playing Shinobi? This is so ridiculous…"

You received a quest: defeat Zabuza.

Sasuke felt a shiver when he heard Zabuza's voice, it sounded way more ominous than before, and he could feel the contempt as if it was tangible. In that single moment, Sasuke realized that he had to kill Zabuza… it was too risky to let such a guy live. Even if he could more or less be redeemed in the end, it wasn't worth the risk, and given that some things were deviating from the original storyline… It was another reason not to take any chances.

Still, Sasuke knew that the current him couldn't take down that guy alone. Even Kakashi would have a hard time against him with the knowledge that he had… maybe things will improve a bit in the second fight, but Sasuke didn't feel like waiting for it.

"What is this… these kids smell like everything, but not like blood… can you call yourself a Shinobi without the smell of blood in your hands?" Zabuza asked, and then Sasuke felt an ominous presence behind him. "Girl… from those three, you are the least suited to be a Shinobi. I will claim your head first."

Sasuke turned to the side with a kunai in hand and charged to attack Zabuza. At the same time, Sakura was paralyzed out of fear and unable to defend herself. Still, Kakashi reached the enemy first and almost stabbed Zabuza's throat. Still, Zabuza's sword easily blocked the attack, and he still had the chance to kick Sasuke in the stomach.

"This kid has guts…" Zabuza said while Sasuke was rolling on the ground. "It isn't the brightest, though. Anyway, it seems that you are getting rusty, Kakashi of the Sharingan. The things I heard about you made me question why you took so long to find me."

"You talk too much," Kakashi said and then pulled up his headband in an instant.

Zabuza jumped away since he knew that he would have the advantage by using the mist, and he wouldn't be able to use his sword well at close range if he didn't have the chance to land the first strike.

Sasuke got up while cursing his weakness. It looked like all that training hadn't been enough… it made sense. Even if he had a system, it wouldn't be that easy to defeat someone that had two decades' worth of experience as a Shinobi.

That weird sensation was still in the air, Zabuza's bloodlust was approaching, but no one could feel or hear him aside from that. Sasuke recalled what he knew about him… As a former high-ranking ninja of the village hidden in the mist, Zabuza was a very powerful fighter. Vicious in battle, his talent for combat was seen even as a child who had yet to begin in the Academy, as he killed over one hundred trained students single-handedly.

Zabuza was also a master of stealth and assassination. He was most renowned throughout all countries for his high skill in killing opponents through zero visibility… The technique was called silent killing. As the name suggests, this technique is simply a soundless method of killing an opponent, usually from behind with a blade. Additionally, because the user moves silently, the attack cannot be anticipated and defended against. The user will often slit their opponent's throat, preventing any cry that might give them away.

"In that case…" Sasuke thought while making some hand seals.

In the next moment, Sasuke used the Fireball Technique toward several trees on the side and then another in the opposite direction. The attacks hit them and caused some large explosions, making the wind blow toward them and making the most dissipate considerably. Sasuke would need to use the technique once more, but then Zabuza suddenly appeared in front of him, already swinging his sword…

Sasuke was too busy with the hand seals, but he still used the Sharingan to read the attack and jump to avoid it… fortunately, Kakashi showed up before it could be completed and stabbed Zabuza in the stomach… he turned into a water clone and disappeared, though.

"Well done, Sasuke," Kakashi said while looking around. "Still, don't taunt him any further; I have got this."

That was easier said than done; even if the difference in strength was that high, Sasuke didn't want to run away from any challenges. Putting the rewards of the quests aside, he truly felt that he had not only to survive but he had to accomplish something in that battle, something more than he already did.

"It seems that your students aren't planning to listen to you, Kakashi," Zabuza said after leaving the shadow of a tree. "Don't worry, kids. I will fight you all while I fight Kakashi as well."

Zabuza used some hand seals and called two water clones. Thanks to it, Sasuke finally realized what he meant by what he said earlier… Naruto got tired of waiting on the sidelines and used his shadow clone technique. He left two of them behind while the others slowly approached Zabuza.

"More and more difficult questions…" Sasuke thought.
