The seed of the Jade tree(III): Near death

Walking for over ten minutes, the Valkyries finally got to the middle of the forest. They started seeing faint green light from behind the extremely tall grasses that was in front of them.

...

"Whoah!..."

The Valkyries stared at what was in front of them in awe.

There was a large, extremely thick tree which was right in the middle of the forest.

The tree emitted a green light that illuminated the place and giving it a lively feeling.

There were some rodents on the tree and also some big visible insects.

The Valkyries weren't actually interested in all these as they stared at the fist sized glowing green ball that was impaled in the tree's trunk.

Various little vines were entwined on the ball, holding it in place.

A Valkyrie was about to proceed when the princess called out.

"STOP!!... There might be traps around" the princess said as she looked at the ground where there were short grasses.

"Let me map the place out" the black haired Kana walked forward.

The princess nodded at her and she bent down and placed her hand on the grasses.

Closing her eyes, she spread her soul energy into the ground as she focused.

*Inside her head*

Kana saw everything around them of 200 metres. It looked like a blueprint of the surrounding. She could see every detail, every movement, everything hidden.

She checked the ground thoroughly and she got confused as she couldn't find any traps.

...

Kana opened her eyes as her brows furrowed.

Princess Mira noticed this and asked, "What did you see?"

Kana stood up and turned around. Looking confused she said, "Nothing!!, I didn't see anything. No traps, no creatures except from the ones on the tree"

The other Valkyries were quite shocked to hear this as it was impossible that such a sacred tree didn't have any form of protection.

"*Sigh*... Let's not think about it too much. The traps might be triggered when we get close to the tree or even after extracting the Jade seed" the princess said, unsheathing her sword in case.

The rest of the Valkyries followed her as they all brandished their weapons.

They proceeded with caution following the princess from behind as they were ready for anything.

...

"It's very thick" Kira said. She had short blue hair and grey eyes that made he beautiful all together.

She was what they would call...a scientist.

"Someone should climb up and get it while we wait down here in case of anything" the princess suggested.

She still can't shake off the feeling that something wasn't right. It made her extremely worried.

"I'll go!" Kana raised up her hand as she smiled at the princess.

Mira smiled back and nodded in approval.

...

Kana brandished two daggers from her waist side as she go into a running stance.

*Phew*

She sped and ran towards the tree, giving her momentum and force as she used both to jump high towards the tree, ready to use her daggers to stab and continue climbing.

Shockingly, as the tip of her dagger touched the tree, a shockwave from that point was released, bouncing her dagger as well as hitting her, causing her to fall down.

"I got her!" Lora jumped and caught the falling Kana before she made an impact with the ground.

Before they could rest or do anything else, the tree glowed a brighter green light suddenly.

The Valkyries used their hands to cover their eyes from the light.

A few seconds later, the light died down and the tree radiated it's normal faint green light in the night.

"Is everyone okay?" Lora asked as she looked around at each of the Valkyries.

Her brows furrowed as she saw the princess looking around carefully.

"EVERYONE GET READY!!!"

The princess suddenly shouted and held her sword up as she got into a fighting stance. Following their leader, the Valkyries all got ready for battle.

*BRRRRRRR*

The ground beneath their feet started vibrating as they shook a little.

*Crah...*

They started seeing weird creatures coming out of the ground.

Upon observation they were made of wood...tree wood.

They had the same structure as a human and was of a human's height.

It just looked like humans made out of wood.

The princess guessed that the appearance of these creatures was due to the earlier incident when the tree emitted that bright light.

...

These strange wooden humans seems to surround them as they emerged from the ground continuously.

*CRRAHH*

All of charged towards the Valkyries as they came out of the ground.

"Hah!..." the primcess slashed her sword downwards, releasing an arc of thin water that was formed from her energy which was gathered around the sword.

The arc sliced one of the wooden humans in half upon contact and exploded.

The one that was hit seemed to not be able to regenerate so the princess concluded that the glexers were different from these creatures.

The rest of the Valkyries took action as they charged towards the herd of wooden humans.

The princess danced around skillfully, waving her sword precisely and accurately, killing the wooded creatures at a quick pace.

The rest weren't different from her as they all found I easy to kill the wooden humans.

One thing bothered them though, the creatures kept on coming like a never ending wave if water, putting pressure on the Valkyries.

*Brrr*

*Rarh...rarh*

More and more monsters stormed out of the ground continuously and charged towards them like mindless, endless zombies as the ground kept on vibrating.

"My princess, there's too many of them!" One of the Valkyries shouted out.

The princess looked at the Valkyries, holding on and fighting. She knew that if the monsters kept on coming...then they would run out of energy sooner or later.

"Princess Mira!!, What do we do?" the Valkyries looked at their leader for instructions.
