Difference In Mana Blast

"You're gonna go after those ones, while I take care of these ones. Let's go, Edric!"

"Alright, Calle!"

Edric then flew about ten meters away from Calle while Calle moved to the opposite of the dragon. The two of them then started gathering mana from their bodies into one spot. Edric went and gathered mana to his mouth while Calle put the mana from his body into his right hand.

Calle's hands then became visibly encased in white mana and became brighter and brighter as he put more and more mana into his right hand. However, Calle didn't just let the gathered mana leak out to the environment as he once again commanded the mana in his hand to gather to a single point in the middle of his palm to create a glowing dense mana ball right in the middle of his right hand.

Edric did the same as the little dragon gathered the mana from his body into the back of his mouth, containing it from going anywhere else, and just kept on gathering on that one particular spot.

And after a few more seconds of gathering their mana, the mana ball in Calle's hand had become half as big as Edric's body and while the mana that Edric gathered at the back of his mouth was still at the same size, it was condensed further than Calle's mana ball that it would certainly puff up the moment it was released from Edric's mouth.

The two creatures, a human and the dragon then looked at each other, and nodded, before the human moved his hand in a swinging motion forward, while the dragon opened up its mouth wide. Both of them were targeting their own group of slimes that were some distance away from them.

With the two of them timed their attack, two mana balls half of Edric's size were simultaneously thrown forward, heading straight to their respective targets.

The two mana balls traveled almost at the same speed when Edric first flew headfirst into Calle's chest, and it didn't take them a long time to finally reach their target, which was two groups of three slimes.

And the moment the two mana balls reached their target, the mana balls simultaneously exploded, causing a very bright glow to permeate through the slime's cave, making Calle squint his eyes a little due to the sheer brightness of the two explosions.

Just like before, the explosion caused clouds of dust that hindered Calle's vision, and he could only see the result of his and Edric's attack after the dust had settled back to the ground.

First, he looked at Edric's target, and just like the first time Edric used his dragon's breath, the place where there were supposed to be three slimes had turned into a crater, with the three slimes nowhere to be seen.

'As expected of Edric, his mana blast is really powerful…'

Calle had asked the system about Edric's dragon's breath and the system explained that what Edric used was actually not a real dragon's breath. The little dragon went through Calle's memories and only looked at the dragons in the video games that Calle played and Edric tried to imitate what the dragon was doing, resulting in his current ability.

Which turned out to be a skill called mana blast instead of a dragon's breath. A dragon's breath was a whole different skill altogether, and Edric being a newborn baby dragon wasn't able to do it yet. What he had created instead, in an attempt to imitate the dragons that he saw in Calle's memories was a skill where he gathered mana at a single point before blasting it away, which was exactly the description of a mana blast.

And the skill that Calle also did was also mana blast, but instead of gathering it in his mouth like Edric, he used his hand instead to be the gathering point of the mana.

Calle's attempt to imitate Edric's mana blast would be considered at a genius level since he succeeded in his second try after getting the hang of controlling his mana by following Edric's vague explanation that barely counts as an explanation, but with a few differences here and there in the whole process of creating the ability, there was bound to be a difference of result in the end product of the skill.

Calle then turned his head towards his own targeted slimes and saw that although he had also caused an explosion with his mana blast, one slime had survived his attack, albeit it only had half of its body left.

"I think I threw it too far to the right… I need to practice throwing this more." Calle muttered as he started walking towards the surviving slime.

"It's okay, Calle. I'm sure you will be able to do it perfectly next time." Edric said, trying to comfort Calle while he floated beside Calle.

"Thanks, Edric. And now while we're at it, I also want to train to use mana in a different way to defeat the slimes."

"Alright Calle, just tell me if you want me to help you obliterate the slime," Edric said before distancing himself from Calle and surviving the slime.

"Sure, Edric. But I don't think I will need your help for this one." Calle said before leaping towards the slime that had started to slowly regenerate its body back to its initial condition.

This was already the third group of slime that Calle had to face in the slime dungeon with the first group being easily erased from existence with Edric's mana blast and the two of them working together to defeat the second group.

With the second group, the same instance had also happened where a slime survives his mana blast and it also regenerated its body, significantly slower compared to when the slime was regenerating the wounds that he inflicted by using his fist.

He asked the system the question and found out the reason the slime wasn't able to regenerate as fast as usual after being hit by the mana blast was due to the lingering mana from the mana blast that invaded the slime's body and hindered the slime's regeneration.

With that information, Calle wondered whether he would be able to purposely create an attack where the focus of the attack would result in his mana invading the slime's body, causing his attack to be highly effective against the slime even without using the mana blast.

And now, he had his mana gathered in his hands, causing both his right and left hand to glow. He didn't know the theory behind mana control and how to create his own original skill, but the pulsing glow on his hands right now was Calle's attempt at creating his own personalized skill that was intended to be the ultimate slime killer skill.
