To say I had the strength to face whatever happened to her would be a lie. At times, it was as though she was glowing like a halo, and during those times, I was afraid to touch her, thinking that if I did, she would disappear. The doctors came in several times to check up on her, but I could see their confusion because they couldn’t decipher her condition. The maximum conclusion was between suffering a concussion and a coma. They said that if she didn’t gain consciousness soon, she would go into the worst state of coma.
Yet, at times, her heartbeat would increase, and she would start breathing heavily. It was as if she was about to wake up from a nightmare. Often, relief would wash over me when her condition would turn that way, but then, she would still remain the same as she was before. It tore me to see her like this, and I couldn’t do anything but watch as she fought within herself.
