I didn’t know if I was dreaming or if these flashbacks were meant to happen, but I saw my life playing behind my eyelids, as though a movie. From my childhood to the day I came into this nightmare. Each moment, each memory flickered by and each was filled with one of my friends, including Jack and Addison. I saw the memories special to me.

But then a memory sprang and I saw what I didn’t know I had lived through. It was familiarly new to me. My parents were having a conversation and they both looked quite younger. Dad, however, had a pleading expression on while mom had her lips pursed and was looking at dad the way you would look at a child with wild imagination.

“I know it may seem absurd, Lyra, but it’s true.” My dad had cautiously whispered at my mom’s expression. “Why do you think I don’t have any relatives?”
