The Angels of Worthwood ~ Spectre

It was the morning after we came back from our mission in Worthwood.

I sure hope Sirius and Reyna solved their problems, because I can't have two people not stand each other if they're gonna live here for long.

I just can't. Not again. The tension between Lykfilia and Leviathan a thousand years ago was enough, I'm not sure I can go through that again so soon. I thought, as I cleaned and polished glasses, putting them up on their respective shelves.

As I started putting the dinner plates back into their cupboard, I noticed the increase in power around the tavern, and the plates and glasses shaking in their shelves.

I immediately started putting up wards around the main room, seeing as I had a feeling who it was, and I had no intentions of dragging the kids into my own mess. As soon as I finished I crouched behind the counter, hoping I'd pass off as hidden, if not for long.

As the door to the White Helm was kicked down by force, I started masking my own presence, hoping I wasn't too late.

"Trophonia, I know you're in here somewhere, so come out, don't struggle, and we'll be on our way~" a person said in a sing-song voice. It was a voice I had hoped I never had to hear again in this lifetime.

I kept myself hidden behind the counter, careful not to move a muscle, not making a sound as I prayed they'd leave soon.

But then, oh then, Sirius, Reyna and Lykfilia arrived in the stairs. They'd heard the crash of the door and they came to investigate.

"What's going on in here?" Lykfilia asked. "Spectre where are you? Who are these people?"

I didn't reply. I hoped they'd get the hint and get out, as they couldn't get through the wards.

"Ooh. So Spectre is the name you're currently going by, eh Trophonia? No wonder we've had a hard time finding you. I rather like it though. It means what you are, nothing but a ghost of what you once were. I can tell you've masked your presence, but I know you're here, and you're a lot weaker than before~" the person said again, the voice now sounding slightly teasing.

Cortana. That's who the voice belonged to.

I just sat there, shocked and in silence, back against the counter, feeling the enchantment run off me, revealing my past form. The power levels in the area shot up like a rocket on New Years eve, shocking even me. When did I get so powerful?

"Come on 'Spectre', you can't hide forever~" Cortana said, and I heard a crash, like she pushed over a table or something. Then, a rustle of wings? I thought Cortana didn't have wings?

"Cortana, it appears she's not here. Maybe we should come back later?"

No. It can't be him. I thought, but it was unmistakable.

"No, she's here. I can feel it!" Cortana snapped rather harshly.

"Besides, I know a way to drag her out."

"And what would that be?" The reply came, as curious and questioning as myself.

"Leverage." Cortana replied, and I could just envision the smirk on her face.

Leverage? The Heavenlies don't have any leverage against me anymore. Or at least, I thought so. I went through every single memory of the angelic race I had, but soon enough, I was woken from my deep thoughts by Lykfilia's voice.

"Let me go! I said, let me go!"

My eyes snapped open, and I felt my blood boil with rage. How dare they! How dare they march here, kick the door down, and then capture my friends, through the wards?

"Spectre, come out, or the kids die~" Cortana said.

I heard Reyna whimper at the touch of a bronze knife at her neck, and that's what made me snap.
