Chapter 2551

This was none other than Genesis Lotus!

"To think there are people this selfless…as a mother I am very impressed and proud, but also hurt that it has to come to this."

Earth thought of herself as the mother of all creation, she and Heaven could never have a personal child in the way that she envisioned, but creating all of life was a close second.

Star Constellation tilted her head down, Earth was half a head shorter than her, "You feel pity for us? Or for him?"

"Both." Earth responded, her eyes never leaving Genesis Lotus, "You're not wrong, I do lament at the constant strife that my children have to go through, as well as, the cruel indifference their father shows, but that's not what I mean in this moment."

She paused for a breath,

"I meant that I am truly proud that someone like Genesis Lotus can spring up from amongst mortals, here is a man, destined to be like the gods and immortals of legends, yet he lays down his dream and ideals for the hope of a better future for his fellow man."

Earth turned to look Star Constellation in the eye, "What could be more admirable than that?"

For once Star Constellation was taken aback, not because Earth said something outside what Star Constellation expected but because she meant it.

This was a godlike being who truly did care for her creations.

A stark contrast to the Billions of years under Heaven's rule.

"The sentiment is nice but not practical," Star Constellation was taken aback for a second, only a second, "How would you end the Millions of years of grudges that have accumulated on both sides, between the Variant Humans and Humans?"

Earth wasn't offended nor surprised by Star Constellation's question,

"She's trying to figure out how I would lead differently from Heaven," she chuckled in her head, "That's just what I would expect from her, trying to sus out which she should use to serve her agenda."

Indeed, Star Constellation was touched by Earth's genuine heartfelt love for all creation but,

"There is too much benefit to lose if Earth were solely in charge, there would likely be no more strife but a lot of inner resentment, depending on the way she chooses to run the world from this point forth."

To Earth and Heaven this whole debacle was on the surface a battle of ideology and wit but in reality, it was a matter of cost!

Either one of them could easily wipe out all life, Venerable, Mortal, Saint, and even Dao Emperors if they wanted to.

But it would come at a cost.

"At this stage restarting isn't the same as waiting another 3 Billion years for life to develop, it's cutting off a part of our power, our very essence, to ensure that things do not develop in the same way as before."

All this was to say that the ideal structure, in Star Constellation's mind, would be to have both Heaven and Earth be forever wary of each other.

A constant, never-ending power struggle.

Earth knows that's what Star Constellation wants, "I agree with you."

This time Star Constellation truly was shocked, "I beg your pardon?"

Earth let out an emotion-filled sigh, "You're right, the best way for my children to grow up free and happy is to let them do as they please, any other way would be hypocritical of me, if I banned all fighting or if I banned all revenge and killing I would deprive my Children who crave those things the very thing that keeps them going."

"What right do I have to do that?"

Star Constellation had truly never been shocked so much in her entire existence until the arrival of Fang Yuan.

"Ever since that demon came, it's been one surprise after the other, something I used to experience once in a thousand years has happened more times in a single lifespan!"

And the surprise didn't end there,

"But," Earth added on, "I don't agree that we need a constant power struggle between me and Heaven to bring such a world to fruition."

Star Constellation raised her eyebrow, waiting for Earth to elaborate.

"I get that you want one as it would give you peace of mind, a constant struggle means that no one god is in complete control, it means that you'd needn't start an insurrection to fight against a tyrant the moment that god changes their mind, after all if there were 2 or more, you could just change camps."

"Indeed," Star Constellation shrugged, "You've seen through me, you're a god after all, but then you should also know that this is the very reason we have helped you so much, once you're on equal foot with Heaven it's up to the highest bidder, so to speak."

Earth smiled, not offended by Star Constellation's honesty she was encouraged by it, "Her being honest means she's interested to hear my proposal."

"What if I swear on my eternal soul?"

"________" Star Constellation's mouth opened and closed trying to form words and sentences but nothing came out.

It was shocking. Too shocking!

A god was going to make a vow using their eternal soul!

It would be an unbreakable eternal chain that they couldn't break for…well…forever!

And it wouldn't result in just a heavy injury if they broke their vow, it would end their eternal existence, a leash with no benefits, a fixed destiny, a way to break eternity.

To make matters worse, there was no way to dupe such a vow, the witness would be the void itself, and the void did not play with words.

"Are you sure?" Star Constellation doubted the veracity of Earth's words, yet she could tell Earth was serious.

"Yes," she held out her hand, "Let's do it."

A tear in the fabric of reality, piercing through every layer and dimension, extending from the Gu World, through the Plains of Ascension, into the Void.

Amidst the Chaos, there was nothing, but a light soon broke through that nothing awakening something.

A singular tear, gradually expanding vertically, and from within that tear, a singular pupil was revealed.

The giant eye within the Chaos glanced down into the entire Gu universe.

Wherever its gaze landed a purple light followed.

Anyone who was standing in the purple light shivered uncontrollably, their bodies instinctively rejected and feared the owner of the light.

Many a mortal died under the light, and this day would come to be known as the Day of the Reaper.

The eye scoured all the 5 Regions,

It paused briefly at the Eastern Sea,

For the first time, there was one who was not afraid, one who did not shiver, there was one who stared into the void, his eyes cold, piercing and determined.

And the Void did the unimaginable, it blinked.

Quickly, it turned away and continued to scour the Regions.

Until it landed on the one who had called.

"I, Earth, solemnly swear on my Eternal Soul, to not restrict the life of Mortals, to let them live as they want and die as they do."

Her voice was not a shout, and she did not use any Killer Moves, but there was not a soul that did not hear it.

I'm sorry I haven't been writing, even though I thought as I near my graduation from National Service, there would be less work, and though there is, I also can't help but dread each and every day that I am not free. And to make matters worse I will be taking a break from the last 2 weeks of May to go on a family trip to Japan.

I really am sorry to do this to you all, but I will try my damn best to write as much as possible in between these times.

I am also trying to work on my own story while doing this, so far I only have a vision of where I want the story to go, I have no chapters because I keep scrapping every idea I get.

But I've made some progress and I'm positive on the direction I want to go into, more updates to come once I end this story.
