18 chapter 18 Hunting

Dali[ your young dragon position is 8th out the whole clan due to your fights. I know so many people who betted against you and lost, but they weren't that mad about it. Since the whole thing was like a play at the theater and matter of fact it is now.

Its played at several theaters around the clan but the best one is at little li's theater. They have a pretty actor that plays you best. Of course they changed the names so no one involved would complain but everyone knows who their referring to.]

This woman.... has not stop talking in Two fucking hours. Two hours talking about me and some young dragon tier list.

Dali[ it's a shame your only a c grade talent, if you were at least a b grade talent. You'd definitely be ranked at least 5th in the young dragon tier list, but then again thats another reason why you got so famous as you actually denied a talent increasing gu.]

I was tempted to summon a variant self and have him cover my ears. I looked over to see Max had something in his ears while Ryan and Xal were talking to each other. These people were already used to her by their actions, but its times like this I'm glad i never tried joining a team.

A half hour later we were let off our ride.

Xal[ the last time our target was located was a couple miles from here. Max do your thing, while the rest of you be aware of your surroundings. ]

Shu[ what does our target look like?]

Xal[ you'll know its her when you see her, thanks to some of the gu she uses her body constantly lets off steam.]

That'll be a dead give away then, i was tempted to let out my featherman self and have him look around for me, but i didn't want our target to find us. I could lend him beggar moth and stealth scale gu, but i rather keep my primeval essence reserves up in case of conflict. At times like this its best to rely on a scouting gu master like Max. His whole gu set is probably meant only for recon.

After a whole day of searching we only found traces of her potential whereabouts. We set up camp at night, it turns out that Ryan also has a well stored gu. Besides healing he was also in charge of packing and taking care of camping essentials.

Though he had extra equipment he didn't have to lend me anything. I had long since prepared out door camping essentials in my well stored gu. That night we enjoyed a beef soup, while taking turns to be on watch duty.

It wasn't hard at all for me to be on watch duty. I had thermal vision gu to keep an eye out for anything near. I also had my featherman self fly up and keep watch. I instructed him to only come down if something was approaching us. Besides my featherman self i also had my miniman watch over me as i slept. I'm glad i had my variant selfs to watch over me as i sleep it gave me alot of peace of mind.

For the next few days we kept looking for the demonic gu master. I learned that Max's tracking gu had to do with humidity and since the demonic gu master is constantly realising steam she would stand out like a red flag to him. Yet we still haven't found her yet, either our luck is bad or hers is great.

After a bit of searching it seemed their was a problem. As Max was speaking with Xal, i wasn't the only one curious about what was going on.

Dali[ hey whats the hold up?]

Xal[ it seems that their is two areas where she could be but their at opposite ends. If we go one way and were wrong she might get away.]

At that sentence we all feel into silence, we've been out here for over a week looking for her. Now that were so close to her yet if we pick wrong. We'll have to go through all that all over again.

Shu[ do we know if she has any recon gu?]

Xal[ she has one that specializes in tracking body heat signatures why?]

Shu[ if her only way to track is by body heat then i can scout one area with a method of mine and find out if shes there or not.]

Xal[ will this method put you in danger?]

Shu[ its safe, the only danger is that she might find out were looking for her, but if she can only track with heat signatures then she shouldn't find out.]

Xal went quite for a bit but then spoke up.

Xal[ alright do it, search directly east from us.]

After she agreed i summoned my featherman self from the sky.

Max[ somethings coming from the sky]

They all looked up to the sky and readied themselves for a threat.

Shu[ that is my method don't attack.]

Slowly my featherman self went down and approached me. Shocking all those around me, ignoring them i shook his hand discretely handing him beggar moth, thermal vision gu, stealth scale gu, and vice grip crab gu. He then flew off into the air heading east, while i ordered him to use stealth scale gu and thermal vision gu to scout for the demonic gu master. Their should be no issues with the demonic gu master finding him out if she tracks with body heat. Initel has already confirmed that my variant selfs don't give off body heat.

Dali[ did my eyes deceive me or did I just see two little Shuidi's and one was a featherman?]

Xal[ Shuidi have you been having someone else follow us discretely this whole time?]

Shu[ the only person to join your mission has always only been myself.]

Xal was about to say something else but before she could say anything else. I raised my hand and pointed at my forehead where truth shines gu rested. She understood what i meant and stopped prying. If only the others would too

Dali[ wait Shuidi is he your twin brother?]

Ryan[ or maybe your real father]

Max[ or a sibling no one knew of]

Shu[ no to all of those, now stop asking me questions. Everyone normally has secrets so stop prying.]

After saying that Max and Ryan stopped but of course Dali didn't.

Dali[ but... is he single?]

This disgust i feel towards her made me empathize with all the good looking women who had to go through all this in my past life. So i did what anyone else with good sense would do and choose to ignore her.

After twenty minutes my featherman self returned and shook my hand. Handing me back my gu, then a piece of my will entered my head where i instantly learned what he went through.

Shu[ she's not in the east, the only thing going on over there is a forest fire, but i can check the other direction if you want.]

As i was telling that to Xal, the others were examining my featherman self.

Dali[ hey whats your name?]

Xal[ if theirs a fire at the east side then the odds are high that shes on the west side then. Dali ready up and stick to the plan, we'll head west and once we find her Dali and i will engage while you three back away.]

After saying that we made our way west, after thirty minutes Max finally detected her.

Xal[ You three stay here if something goes wrong we'll retreat. Max keep an eye out just incase.]

Those two then went off on their own, i activated thermal vision gu only to see a sea of heat in the area where the demonic gu master was. It didn't stay that way as a large amount was extinguished.

I was tempted to go see the battle or even send my featherman self to go see but i didn't want any problems let alone distract them while they fight to the death. Well i might as well keep my featherman self in the air to keep an eye out for any danger.

Max and Ryan didn't seem to be in the mood to say anything. Probably because their teammates are currently fighting to the death.

Shu[ have you guys accepted missions like this before?]

Max[ we don't accept these missions, they assign them to us.]

Ryan[ you can choose to decline them but then the future missions you get turn shitty and when we accomplish these missions the rewards we get are great.]

Max[ the clan assigns these missions to only those they think can accomplish them. Both Xal and Dali use water path gu, not to mention their both rank 3, and their opponent is a fire path gu master. They have a huge advantage.]

Ryan[ yup they'll probably win the battle easy the issue is if they can kill them almost every time they run away. One time we had to find...]

As he was talking my featherman self flew down and a piece of the will entered my head.

Shu[ what happens when they successfully run away?]

Max[ we have to find them again and again till we complete the mission.]

Shu[ok]

I took out well stored gu and pulled out two large metal spears.

Shu[ I'll be right back]

Ryan[ wait where are you going?]

Max[ we were told to wait here]

Shu[ to complete the mission]

I activated jab gu and launched in a certain direction. My featherman self saw a person run away with a torrent of flames behind her.
