9 **Chapter 9: When in doubt? Cheat!*

Hello, the scheduling of the chapter yesterday kind of worked; it still released about 6-7 hours before I wanted it to, but that's fine.

I did not expect this much support for the chapters I have written all on my own, in contrast to the ones where the AI changes some of the wording.

Here are all RI Fanfiction I am reasonably confident that they still upload that I also know of:

1. Reverend Insanity - Blood Venerable Ascension, Creed Follower, 32 Chapters

2. Reverend Insanity – Perpetual Motion, FangYuan1234, 12 Chapters

3. Reverend Insanity: Eternal Flame, ForbiddenLord, 5 Chapters

4. I got transmigrated to the cruelest world I possibly could., gorenjoyer, 13 Chapters

As well as my own, naturally.

If you are writing a RI Fanfiction and want a shoutout, please leave a comment or review.

"I think it's pretty clear which cheat I have chosen. Let me give you a hint: I am not a Gu immortal.

What, you want another hint?

Well, if you ask that nicely…

The second hint is that if I die, I am dead. And I have convincing evidence that there is no Afterlife, for me at least.

That's right, you have finally figured it out. I choose the cheat: Always full.

I know myself, in my last life, I played some games, and every time that I knew the game had no risk to it, my motivation left me faster than you could say: Gu.

This was one of my reasons for choosing cheat number two. The second and arguably more important one was that I just think that not having to feed Gu will be a significant advantage all the way to rank 10 and eternal life.

For those who do not believe in the legendary rank 10, let me tell you a story about colors.

Rank 1 Green Copper primeval essence – Rank 6 Green Grape immortal essence

Rank 2 Red Steel primeval essence – Rank 7 Red Date immortal essence

Rank 3 White Silver primeval essence – Rank 8 White Litchi immortal essence

Rank 4 Yellow Golden primeval essence – Rank 9 Yellow Apricot immortal essence

Rank 5 Purple Crystal primeval essence – Nothing to see here, you Conspiracy Theorist

Sure, whoever believes that, not me though.

Repeat after me, children: "Gu cultivation has 9 ranks, from the lowest rank 1 to the highest rank 9."

Anyway… feeding Gu. So, I have the privilege to not have to feed my Gu.

This will allow me, in essence, to do two things.

First, I will have way more disposable income than any Gu Master at my rank. I will also avoid the situation of my Gu starving just because I don't have the right food at the right time.

And second, it will allow me to have an infinite amount of Gu, even as a mortal Gu Master.

I have also thought of some interesting ways to make money and gain an advantage with this cheat.

But nonetheless, I have decided that I will still feed my Poison Refining Gu, and not just my vital Gu, but all of them.

Because the Poison Refinement Gu is an absolute nightmare to feed. As it is rank 1, I could feed it with any mortal or rank 1 poison, the only catch is that they must be naturally occurring.

*A while ago*

I have decided to feed my Poison Refinement Gu, not because I am stupid, but just because I want to experience the feeding of my Gu a bit.

It would be very bad to not do that, as it might leave me in a situation, a bad one. Imagine if you are a rank 8 Gu immortal, you are just talking to your friends, and then you just lack a piece of info or experience that every rank 1 Gu master should know.

So basically, I am doing this out of curiosity and because I am paranoid.

"I know that they will eat any poison, so..."

With that, I summon all of my 8 Gu out of my Aperture and throw them in a pot of poison one by one. Well, for them, it would be more accurate to say a pot of food.

"!!!"

"Why is only one of them eating???"

"This is the exact type of situation I want to prevent…"

I wait for the one that is eating to finish, and as soon as it did, I grabbed it as well as one that wasn't eating.

"These Gu are no different... and it's not even like the one that ate is my vital Gu."

"Let's see if they will eat a different poison?"

*Present time*

After that, it did not take long to figure it out.

Because it never eats the same thing twice. And not only does it not eat the same thing twice, oh no, this applies to all Poison Refinement Gu. For exaple my vital Gu could be fed with one material, and none of the others would ever eat the same material again.

This is a Gu that is literally asking to go extinct. And I just kind of want to see if I can achieve that. This would be great for me, as it would give me a very powerful Gu of my path that nobody else can use. Not even the mortal version.

'Hahaha… I honestly just find the thought of that so funny.'

Who knows, this could also be useful sometime in the future, because I don't know if I will have to die and revive sometime, or if someone *cough* *cough* manages to steal my vital Gu, it will just be useless to them.

That being said, I will just feed the Gu here and there from time to time, only so much that my petty little contingency plan will not affect my financial situation.

The completion of this plan will have to wait for me to become a Gu immortal and get poisons from the other regions anyway.

For now, I will keep the existence of my vital Gu a secret because I would really dislike it if I were forced to give up the recipe for it. Just so that the clan could make even more primeval stones as a result. I am sure I would get 'rewarded' rather 'generously'.

Best-case scenario, I will get about 1% percent of what the old men in the clan would make from the Gu; worst case, I get killed, and realistically I would probably get some rank 2 Gu and politely get told to f*** off.

So, no, I will not be revealing it.

As I sit here and casually nurture my Aperture, I think about something I will have to do though. Given that I do not want to be experimented on. And that is to pretend to feed my Gu.

Now the safest option would be to just be a good little boy, feed my Gu, and to not arouse any suspicion.

The dumbest option would be to not do anything and hope it goes well.

Now what I am going to do is somewhere in the middle of that. For any poison Gu I will buy or refine in the future, I will just make up something like:

"Oh, it just needs this or that poison…"

This method will work because it is really no secret that I collect poisons. And if I need to keep up appearances I can just buy poisons I need for Gu Refinement anyway.

The good thing about this is that for anyone trying to figure me out, this will get very unorganized very fast, as I have a lot of poisons collected already. And will also continue to buy and sell poisons, not to make money, but to be confusing.

Now for Gu of other kinds, I will use three methods.

One, keep the Gu secret entirely. In this group of Gu nobody should know that I even have them.

Two, just feed the Gu normally. This will be used on Gu that are not that commonly used, that I also cannot hide.

Three, buy the material to feed the Gu, but just sell it again later. This must be done extremely carefully. And it can also only be done for Gu and Materials that are common.

The good thing is that I will only have to resist the common sense of my clansmen as well as maybe a few curious and attentive people. So no worrying about the annoyance that is common in the immortal world: wisdom path.

I should keep one eye open for any methods that can be used to counter wisdom path; this is actually a must before I can advance to rank 6.

This whole feeding Gu debacle will probably be the riskiest thing I am going to do for a whole while.

'With that said, let me do something risky…'

With that, I wiped the dust from the used primeval stone from my hand, looked at my Aperture that was filled to the maximum for a moment and made my way to the basement.

There I was, notebook number one in front of me, revising the steps of the recipe I have made up, one by one.

The plan is to refine the water bullet Gu into a new, improved, and most importantly, poison path Gu.

I have already arranged the materials I will need for this.

About 10 spirit Stones, the water bullet Gu, as well as a few very carefully chosen Poisons.

The refinement Process for this Gu that I have made up is relatively simple. This should be an easy refinement.

'First, a bucket of water.'

'Now I rub each primeval stone into one type of poison. These are all rank 1 poisons. And best of all, I have created them all, so they are so cheap. That brings a smile to my face.'

ML2, ML5, ML15, MP1, MP6…..

Ten poisons for ten primeval stones.

With that done, I lay the primeval stones before me in two rows. To be very neat and have a nice order is an advantage my father could not understate while teaching me the basics of refinement theory. And I cannot help but find myself agreeing with my old man.

With everything prepared, I carefully took the Gu out of Aperture and gently placed it into the water bucket.

Then dropped the first poisoned primeval stone into the bucket.

Plop

At first, nothing really happened, but after about 2 to 3 minutes, the little fish that was the Water Bullet Gu got really interested in the primeval stone.

And then suddenly, it opened its mouth wider than should be physiologically possible and…

gulp

Gone was the primeval stone.

'This far it is going well. Let's continue.'

Plop

gulp

Plop

gulp

The pace at which the Gu was swallowing the poisoned primeval stones only seemed to accelerate.

Plop

gulp

The seventh primeval stone that I threw in, the one that was laced with MP14 was different though.

Plop

gulp

And not even a second after it had swallowed this one.

Bang

The Gu exploded into a thousand pieces, and I had to throw up a mouthful of blood again.

The last thought I had before the headache got unbearable was:

'At least I can confirm my theory, I do have a talent in explosion path…'
