Reverend Insanity: Nature's Dominion Venerable

A 'realistic' portrayal of what would happen if a person of our word transmigrated to Reverend Insanity. It is a story of how the protagonist develops in strength and character. *** This is my first time actually writing something, plus English is not my first language, so there can be a lot of mistakes.

Panic Attack

'No! No! It can't be!' Hai Feng thought as his body started to sweat like crazy.

His breathing got faster and faster. His every muscle was trembling.

Even his heart rate increased to unimaginable levels. Because of this, he fell unconscious to the ground, and immediately it got everyone's attention from the horrible news to him.

Mei Ling, who was near him, quickly ran to him to see what happened.

"Brother Feng! Are you alright?" concern flashed to her eyes. Without seeing that he was unconscious.

"What happened?" she once again asked him.

"Hey! Somebody help him!"

The nearby people were now shocked not only by the news but also by this situation. And they gathered around them.

"Did someone hit him?" one asked.

"Can't you see! He has got a panic attack!" the other responded.

The village chief stopped talking with old man Yong Yan and looked over to see what happened. One could slightly see he was nervous about what just occurred and quickly got the situation under control.

"Everyone! Help him by getting him to the doctor and don't stand there doing nothing!" he yelled.

And they did exactly that. After them followed Mei Ling, as she was still very concerned about his wellbeing.

To the ones that were left, he said that they were going to discuss about the raid tomorrow, and then he went to the local hospital to look after his son.

The village center quickly became barren as everyone was going home. Some were going to their friends and family to notify them of what happened here.

As quickly the people who brought Hai Feng over to the hospital they also as quickly left. In the room on the bed lay Hai Feng. His heart was still beating very fast, but slowly it came back to its normal beating.

After a few hours everything went normal and he simply slept for a night.

The next day, Hai Feng woke up and slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was that someone was sitting on a chair next to his bed.

It was the village chief, his adoptive father, Jun Hao. He was currently sleeping in the chair, as it was very early in the morning.

After checking his whereabouts, he tried to remember what happened yesterday.

'Right... Gu Masters...'

'I do hope they refer to other Gu Masters than the ones I know off. Because if not...'

"I'm in deep sh*t," he said in a low voice.

But even that seemed loud enough as his father started to wake up. Immediately after waking up, Jun Hao saw that his son was also awake, so he stood up from his chair and ran off to the bedside.

"What happened there? We were so scared that something happened to you."

"It's nothing, dad I just got so scared after hearing the news..." with a weak smile, he answered and added, with a bit of confusion, "What do you mean by 'we'?"

"Oh, it seems you didn't see her, as she ran to you the first second you fell." Jun Hao could still see question marks on his adopted son's face and added with a teasing voice.

"Well, you know the Ling's family daughter, Mei Ling. She first saw that something was wrong with you and immediately tried to help you. She even followed you as you were being carried to the hospital."

'Mei Ling? The same girl who tried to sneak up on me and ran off when I caught her?'

Hai Feng then asked, "Is she here? I want to thank her then."

"Of course not!" he quickly looked at the window and added, "See what time it is? It's very early in the morning, plus her parents didn't let her stay over night."

'That means later I will need to find her myself...'

After that, they both went silent. Jun Hao could see in his son's eyes that he was having some sort of conflict.

But he didn't ask because he knew Hai Feng would tell him if need be. So he simply went back to his chair and sat down while looking at his son.

Currently, Hai Feng was in battle with himself. He did want to ask the village chief to clarify the situation to him, but at the same time, he didn't want to hear the answer.

He knew that if the answer was the same as what he was thinking, Hai Feng couldn't be lazy anymore and see this world as the vacation of some sorts.

But he understands that he must get the answer.

'Alright, I decided!' with strong conviction, thought Hai Feng. Even Jun Hao saw the small change in his eyes.

"Chi- Father... what is a Gu Master?" he asked while looking straight at Jun Hao.

With a small frown on his face, he asked a question back.

"Why are you asking?"

"Nothing, I just saw how everybody reacted after hearing that the leader could possibly be a Gu Master."

*sigh*

With a heavy breath and a bit of pain in his eyes, the village chief replayed.

"Let me tell you a short story. It all started before I founded this village. I was a child like you, but a bit older. When suddenly, without any warning, they came."

"Gu Masters?" interrupted Hai Feng as he felt where this story was going.

"Yes... We heard stories about them, but we didn't think we would meet them in person. They went in and took all of our woman..." he stopped for a minute and continued, "...including my mother, and left like they were riding some sort of wave."

"We wanted to fight against them, but they simply started to kill us with their mystical abilities. I was one of the lucky survivors that day."

"Then, with the rest of the survivors, we left and started to travel. And as I grew older, we met other cultivators. Most of the time, they left us alone, but there were times when they didn't... Because I don't want any interactions with them, I thought of founding a village on some small island away from them."

"And just like that, that thought couldn't leave my head, so I searched for like-minded people, and later we found this island and founded a village. Because we didn't want you to suffer the same, we decided to shelter the next generation away from them."

He once again sighed and started to remember all the past events. After reminiscing for a while, he finished his story with a few words.

"Never interact with Gu Masters!"

"Okay, dad, I promise you." Hai Feng spoke without directly looking at his father.

"Very well, then I will get going because I need to get ready for the meeting."

After he left, the room went silent, and the patient just stared at the ceiling without blinking.

*Huuu*

Hai Feng let out a deep breath and tried to control his breathing.

'I need to learn to control myself. I can't let myself panic like that again.'

After a few minutes of trying to even his breath, he could finally think.

'I'm truly in that world.' he thought.

'What I am going to do? I need to get out of here because if there is truly a Gu Master leading them, we can't fight them. But how?' he got out his bed and started to walk around.

'Also, I need to find a way to become a Gu Master. But first, I need to gather all of the information I can so I could use my knowledge to my advantage.' he stopped near the window and looked at the horizon.

'Firstly, the location. I live on an island surrounded by water so it's a dead giveaway that I live in Eastern Sea. Second, the time period for that, I don't have many clues but I can probably eliminate Spectral Soul's Era as we live in pretty peaceful environment, at least here.'

'But that doesn't eliminate much, I need to gather more information about that. And lastly, how do I become Gu Master?' Hai Feng had a small frown on his head.

'For that, I need a spirit spring I know that the Eastern Sea has more of them compared to other regions. But still, how can I find one when I'm just a child, and right now there is lurking danger on the nose.' he sighed and went back to bed.

'I can't believe I just had panic attack that I transmigrated to Reverend Insanity and now I calmly thinking about the future.' with a slight smile, Hai Feng thought.

After Jun Hao left, he went straight to his home. He needed to get ready for the meeting that would be happening right here, as they have a small room for that.

And he didn't have to wait long because, after 2 hours, everyone who needed to be here came.

In total, there were 4 people who sat around the round table.

"Let's not waste time and think for solutions."

And like that, the meeting has started.
