Half an hour later, Mo Bei sat down in a cross-legged position. In front of him, Chen Paya was tied up to the roof's beam, her feet not touching the ground. Her body was untouched, but she clearly showed signs of utmost fear.

After almost falling into her charm, Mo Bei had taken all the precautions needed and he was ready to push her to her limits. However, she seemed incredibly scared of him, and revealed everything after a few threats.

'How should I deal with her?', Mo Bei thought to himself, 'Although she is not a threat to me, being quite weak-minded and only focused on her own survival rather than ambitions of taking over the Qing Mao Mountains, she also knows that I was reincarnated, and am not the real Mo Bei. Although I could always deny it if she told all the village about my true identity, the clan leader Gu Yue Bo would always harbor suspicions over me, and inheriting his position would be very tough'

However, Mo Bei ignored her.

According to what she was saying, she was only trying to form a relationship with him to build connections, so that she would not die when the beast tide would come. As he needed to limit his interactions with the inheritance cave, he planned on using the audio Gu to gain merits. However, upon his return to the mansion, he discovered that the audio Gu was too old to be used and was dead already. This was likely due to one of the security measures put in place by the Flower Wine Monk to safeguard the Gu Yue Clan's secrets from falling into the hands of righteous individuals, loyal clansmen from the clan.

Unexpectedly, the malevolent Flower Wine Monk destroyed his entire inheritance cave upon seizing the audio Gu. This outcome was unforeseen, and his lack of patience caused him to suffer significant losses.

"Take out your three Gu worms", Mo Bei instructed her.

The first two Gu worms were of incredible value, and proof that she had gotten the inheritance of an evil Gu Master, just like he had predicted.

'However, I made the wrong assumption that I was alone in this world. However, there are other reincarnated individuals. I have made huge changes in the story, so if there are other reincarnated people in the clan, knowing that I am one will be easy to figure out. But I think I am safe since nobody reached out to me', he thought

Her face showed tremendous fatigue and fear, but he only grinned, contemplating on what to do.

Chen Paya was quite talented, reaching the upper stage realm in six months. Although she did not have the support of the Gu Yue Clan, the inheritance was pretty generous, granting her over six hundred primeval stones. Adding to that her income from the wine tavern, she managed to cultivate without a care in the world for primeval stones.

Mo Bei made sure to steal everything, from the scrolls giving out the recipes of a rank 2 evil path Gu worm called [Lotus Scent Gu], to the locations of resources that could be found in Qing Mao Mountains. Unfortunately, most of them were inaccessible as a rank 1 Gu Master, and would only be reasonable to search upon becoming a rank 2 Gu Master.

"Why should I let you live?", Mo Bei asked her

Chen Paya had been all too careless. She should have never interacted with the genius teenager. She ought to blackmail him and earn a spot in the Gu Yue Clan, but she ended up in this situation.

"I...I will not say anything. I will not bother you again! I promise to leave-"

Seeing that she had nothing left to offer him, Mo Bei took out his knife and cut her throat. She knew too much about him, and leaving an enemy alive was not an option. Had she been smarter, she might have become a complex enemy to deal with. However, she was inexperienced, impatient and trusted her Gu worms too much. Then, he put fire on it. He knew that the Gu Yue Hue, the peak rank 1 Gu Master appointed by the clan, would be suspicious if he checked Chen Paya's body and realized that the Gu worms were nowhere to be seen.

In case he knew she possessed three Gu worms, Mo Bei decided to erase all evidence. Without her body to be found, she would be thought to have escaped and a bounty would be upheld.

The very next moment, he went to the village head's house, and played the role of a someone who was deathly afraid.

"Senior Gu Yue Hue!", he shouted

"Senior Gu Yue Hue! Please come, I was almost killed by Chen Paya!", he shouted.

On his right leg, three wounds bled profusely, from the [Red Needle Shot]. After refining the Gu worm, Mo Bei shot his own leg, to make the scene more believable.

Gu Yue Hue rushed out of the house, and looked at Mo Bei with reasurring eyes: "Mo Bei? What are you doing-...Come inside, you are safe now. Your grandfather has helped me before. Let me take a look at your leg...I always knew that this Chen Paya was not worthy of trust. If only I knew she was an evil path Gu Master, I would have taken care of her a long time ago"
