Reverend Insanity: Experiment N.001

Two men are standing in a windowless office dimly lit by a small lamp on the ceiling. "Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" "That was the last group we had!" "They were supposed to be top-of-the-line superhumans. Demons in human skin!" "How does this make any sense!" ~ Scientist Port Till(the head scientist of 'Interdimensional Travel') "If I don't produce results soon! then I'm going to be 'fired'!" ~ In this business 'fired' was code for getting wiped from history and his head was starting to develop bold spots. "U-um Sir. If I may interject." ~ Sim Art his Assistant spoke up. "What!" ~ One could hear the clear rage in Port's voice. The Assistant swallowed and loosened his necktie ~ "Technically that wasn't our last group..."

Interdimensional Travel Sabotaged.

{Interdimensional Travel}

A man in a straight jacket is sitting in a cell, his back is slouched, his cell is covered from top to bottom in cameras, and his body is showing clear signs of wear, everything about him showed defeat, except his eyes, they were more clear than the day he first got his job.

A ding sound reaches his ears, it is the sound of when the locks on the cell gate open.

[Oh. . . Is today the day that I get 'fired'] ~ Port Till had been in a cell for more than a month, slowly counting away his days, however, instead of looking like he was about to be sent to the chopping block, a smile started to grow on his face. ~ [No, today is the day I get everything back!]

A mic tuned in with the 'kkkk' sound. ~ "Prisoner number 423 step out of your cell and come to the interrogation room."

Port Till rose from his chair which was also his bed, at first his legs shook, showing how poor his current condition is.

A man in a military suit walked over to his cell, noticed that the man couldn't even properly walk, and so as to not waste time, he picked up the light and frail body and proceeded to bring him to the interrogation room.

When the door to the interrogation room closed behind him, Port Till couldn't help but feel a sense of irony. As the designer of this very room, he had always strived to create an environment that instilled unease in those being questioned.

The room was small and sparsely furnished, with only a metal table and a few chairs. The walls were a dull gray, and there were no windows, only a bright light overhead that seemed to shine directly into his eyes. His interrogators sat across from him, their faces obscured by shadows. Their desks were positioned on a raised platform, making them appear even taller and more imposing.

The room was silent, save for the faint hum of recording equipment.

One of the interrogators let out a breath of nonchalance like this was just any other day, "Prisoner number 423 originally known as Port Till. Highly valued for. . . his knowledge of ancient rituals used for summoning. The first person to make a hexagram that could reliably take people from our world and put them in another world, made a method to track if they're alive, and also designed a hexagram that could be used as an anchor point allowing more people to be sent to that exact spot."

He paused for a moment and went closer to Port Till, ~ "So tell me why do the last nine people you sent not have that method?!"

Port Till raised an eyebrow. ~ "Nine?"

"Hahahahahaha, Stop scaring the poor scientist." ~ The other interrogator lightened the mood with a deep laugh.

Port Till instantly recognized the voice. How could he not, after all, this is the very same voice as that of the boss of the 'Awakening Center'. ~ "Evol Ution what's going on here?"

"To say the least, that group of 'disobedients'. . . survived! And you're in trouble for not giving them the 'Anchor Portal Hexagram'"

Port Till noticed Evol Ution's hesitancy in talking about the 'nine', so for now, he decided to play along, with a smile. ~ "What if I said I gave them the 'Anchor Portal'?"

The second interrogator stepped in, "Stop bluffing! Evol over here has already looked at the footage and there are no signs of you ever telling them or showing them such a method."

Evol Ution raised his hand signaling for his partner to calm down, "What do you want?"

The devil's grin showed up on Port Tills face, "After the first 100 people died, I thought it odd that so many prime subjects would simply just die. So I decided to read up on every single experiment sent over, and that's when I realized it! I had been sabotaged! I immediately went to work on a new method of creating Anchor points, I even tried to mask what I was doing by acting overly angry about the whole thing, all in hopes that the perpetrator would reveal themselves."

Evol Ution narrowed his eyes. ~ "That way the government would have to listen to what you have to say if they want to know this new anchor point, while also getting the perpetrator at the same time."

"Exactly! And I even have footage evidence that will be released if anything should happen to me!"

Evol Ution sighed ~ "How much to keep it a secret?" ~ The jig was up, Evol Ution now knew for certain that Port Till had found out about his secret of killing the other 100.

"What's going on he..."

Before the second investigator could finish his fourth word, he was shot in the head.

Some of the blood splattered on Port Till's face which in turn made him frown. ~ "Hmm, how about a new contract solidifying myself as the head scientist of 'Interdimensional Travel?"

"Done!"

"Power to choose who I want to work under me."

Evol Ution frowned, "Done!"

"And information on who exactly those people you sent are."

"No!" ~ It was said with firmness and without hesitation.

"You either tell me who they are or there will be no deal!" ~ Port Till had clear rage in his voice. If anything it seemed like the last request was the most important one to him.

With a heavy sigh, Evol Ution pulled out a dial phone.

Pressing one on the phone, he proceeded to slide it across the table to Port Till.

A click was heard, Evol Ution is about to explain the situation when the person on the other side spoke first, "I already understand what's going on."

The voice of an old woman somewhere in her sixties was heard from the phone.

"Evol, turn off the cameras and guard the door."

Evol Ution instantly walked out of the room, and for a brief moment, the sound of gunshots rang outside the room.

Then the light on the cameras turned off.

"Now then. So you want to know about the failures?"

"Don't you already know that?"

"Oh I do, I just wanted to make sure you knew what exactly you were asking for."

"I have a rough idea." ~ Port Till leaned back on his chair.

". . .Well then, before I tell you about them, I need to first tell you about 'The Awakening Center'."
