10 Oath Binding Gu
Gu Pagoda, Hei Tribe.
This is a mysterious Pagoda divided into 5 layers, with the lowest being the place constituted for storing the Rank 1 Gu and also the largest, while the topmost is something only the Tribe Leader has access to. According to rumors, most people know that the top houses the legendary Rank 5 Gu Worms.
The younger generation of the Hei Tribe could be seen entering and exiting the 1st and 2nd layers. Most of them are geniuses of the Tribe; a few even entered the 3rd Layer.
At the entrance of the 1st Layer, Fang Huo and Hei Jiao registered their entry and walked towards the depths of the 1st Layer.
A wide space filled with shelves, and on each shelf ranged in sizes and types, befitting the grandeur of a Super Tribe's Gu Storage, even if it's the mortal storage.
"Fang Huo, Lord Tribe Leader said the Fire Path suits you the most because of your Blazing Glory Lightning Brilliance physique," Hei Jiao suggested while leading towards the Fire Path Gu Worms.
Fang Huo frowned after hearing him mention his non-existent physique; 'Since when did I have that Physique? Are they mistaken?'
"Amazing! Nothing can escape Lord Tribe Leader's eyes. Senior Hei Jiao, would you be kind enough to teach me how Lord discovered it?" Fang Huo asked with shining eyes, like how a person reacts when their idol is mentioned.
He didn't want to be ignorant when it's something about him and regret it later.
"Hehehe," Hei Jiao laughed lightly and said, "I like you, Junior! Unfortunately, I cannot fathom the Tribe Leader's powers."
Seeing Fang Huo showing a downcast expression, Hei Jiao continued, "But there is a rumor in the Gu World that those with Ten Extreme Physiques usually have traces of the paths of said physique in their body."
"And you should have Fire Path Dao marks if you are a Blazing Glory Lightning Brilliance," Hei Jiao smiled knowingly. He expected this question from the very beginning.

"A Gu Master can only pick their Vital Gu once in their lifetime, mostly. A Vital Gu is also the core strength of Gu Masters normally and also has the characteristic of not being destroyed when being refined to increase its rank; at most, it would be heavily injured and would need to recuperate."
Even though Fang Huo knows everything Hei Jiao is saying, he still paid his utmost attention to not miss a single word uttered.
Hei Jiao gave a brief pause to let Fang Huo collect his thoughts before continuing, "Let's talk about the major types a Gu has."
"Offensive, Defensive, Movement, Concealment, and Investigation. A Gu Master usually picks their Vital Gu from one of the 5 major types, and this is also what divides the category of Gu Masters."
Saying so, Hei Jiao pointed at one Gu on the shelf, "This is the most common Fire path offensive Gu, a Rank 1 Fire Gu."
Fang Huo's eyes twinkled as he looked at the Gu excitedly. There were many times he acted to avoid suspicion, but this is not one of them. It is his genuine excitement and happiness to be able to wield what he only dreamed of.
Hei Jiao smiled lightly at seeing the common reaction a youngster would have when they select their first Gu. He can feel the genuine happiness from the boy, as he too lived that moment in the past.
He then pointed at another Gu at the bottom and said, "That is a Fire Barrier Gu; it will gather the fire around you to form a barrier. It is a passive defensive Gu that doesn't consume Primeval essence."
"And lastly, that Gu with a dragonfly-like appearance, that is Fire Discharge Gu, a movement type Gu that will use the flames to burst in speed."
"These three Gu's suit you the most. So, which one of the three will you choose?" Hei Jiao asked with a weird smile after finishing explaining.
Fang Huo narrowed his eyes and replied with a humble smile, "It seems Sir Hei Jiao has something in his mind for this Junior."
"Hehehe, I knew you kid is smart. Very well!" Hei Jiao smiled warmly and took out a green-colored snake-like Gu worm from his sleeve.
Fang Huo's heart skipped a beat when he saw the Gu;

At the mention of the family name, Fang Huo's expression was complicated, 'I should've known you old bastards were up to no good. Sigh, family name? Fang Huo itself is a fake name I used in the Military; is there any meaning if I changed it or not?'
"Yes, Sir Hei Jiao! This Subordinate is willing to be named by the Tribe!"
"Hahaha… good, good! Here take this Oath Binding Gu. Insert your Primeval essence into it and make a vow." Hei Jiao shoved the Gu into his hands forcefully and continued;
"Being able to be marked by this Gu means you are a member of my Hei Tribe. No one in the Northern Plains will dare to bully you!" Hei Jiao smiled proudly and patted his shoulder.
"You have been named by someone special, even above Tribe Leader! I hope you understand the value of it."
