Northern Plains

A vast wild grassland, the ground was dry and desolate, there was barely any vegetation except yellowish wilting wild grass.

The sky was gray and hazy, no sunlight could be seen. A cold and dark wind blew on the field.

On the ground of flat yellow soil, there was a huge cave. The surroundings of the cave were a circular shape, spanning hundreds of kilometers

At the entrance of this immense cave lay Fang Huo, unconscious. He had been there for some time, yet surprisingly, there were no injuries on his body, and even his clothes remained intact.

"Huff… Huff… Gasp…"

Fang Huo jolted awake as if awaking from a nightmare. He felt his heart pound from the vivid image of Red Giant explosion from the nightmare.

"What in the world.. where am i?"

He checked his body to see freshly intact without a single bruise, which brought a little peace and alertness. Calming his heart down, he checked his surroundings.

A Vast Yellow dry land wild grass and a have so enormous, just being near it will bring anxiety attack. A Rainforest also could be seen inside that dark cave….

A name unconsciously came into his mind upon seeing the huge cave spanned across the land,

"Crazed Demon Cave"

"How the fuck did i ended up here?"

On a large mound, a young man sat, gazing at distant village on the ground with hope.

"It's been a week since I bolted from the Crazed Demon Cave," he reminisced, a weak smile on his lips. He could feel the gnawing hunger in his body, slowly gnashing away at him. He hadn't eaten anything along the way except for a single red berry, miraculously identifiable to him. The description popped into his mind alongside its name, magically.

'A Rank 2 Fire Qi Fruit… seems like that book merged with me during that wall period.' Yeah, he could recall it, though hazily. Huo could only piece together a rough outline of what had happened. But the problem was,

"This is my body… I'm damn sure of it." Fang Huo grimaced at the thought. He didn't know whether to call it a blessing or a curse.

"A Complete Otherworldly Demon. I can only hope Heaven's Will doesn't know about me… at least until I can fend for myself."

Fang Huo had questioned himself multiple times about why or how he found himself at the entrance of the Crazed Demon Cave. What time period was this? Even if he had been transmigrated, shouldn't he be at the Southern Border? Did the Limitless Demon Venerable know?

"Sigh."

'From my observations, it seems to be a settlement for Mortal Village, and it looks pretty safe.' Fang Huo had been in the area for more than 12 hours. He hadn't immediately entered the village but had chosen to observe and move.

"If I'm alive until now, it means either nobody knows of my arrival or they don't really care. Anyway, I can only ask Limitless when I'm stronger!" Pushing his thoughts aside, he disembarked the mound and marched toward the village.

As he neared the village along the path, he could see two men in clothing he had never seen before, only heard of, guarding the entrance. He didn't know what language they spoke, nor did he care. He could always resort to the good old Deaf and Dumb tactic.

"Oh? Halt!" One of the men pointed his arm and exclaimed. This wasn't the first time they had encountered an outsider, but it was the first time they had seen someone in weird clothing.

'Wait— I can understand them?' Fang Huo concealed his shock and spoke with slight relief, "Sorry to intrude without any notice, sir, but can I seek asylum in this lovely village?"

He put on his best smile and had to suppress the disgust in the last sentence to avoid being killed outright.

Contrary to his expectations, the guard frowned and eyed him warily.

'What's this lad blabbering about? Didn't he just want to enter the damn village? Why can't he be straightforward?' The guard shook his head and nodded to the other guard, a young man in his mid-twenties with brown hair.

"Follow me," the brown-haired young man said straightforwardly. Fang Huo followed him without question.

"You seem new here. How did you end up in this place?" the brown-haired guy asked as they walked.

"I'm Fang Huo. I used to work in a Merchant Caravan. Due to a beast tide on the way, I got separated, and the last thing I remember, I was unconscious near the area of the Crazed Demon Cave." Being the youngest Commander of Humanity wasn't just for show. He had been trained to deceive the Synths, which could read every facial muscle, including temperature and heart rate, to assess whether someone was lying or not.

"I see… must've been tough on you, brother." The brown-haired boy looked sympathetically at Huo and continued, "I'm Xian Xia. We just need to meet this person staying in that Mushroom tent over there. Then I'll bring you to eat and rest at my place."

"Thank you, fellow dois… uh, I mean brother!"

'Almost got busted.' Fang Huo sighed softly and looked at the distant tent. A large Mushroom Gu house had been set up with a single window.

'A Rank 2 Mush Room Gu! Who the hell stays in there?' Unable to contain his curiosity, he asked, "Brother, if you don't mind… can I know who is staying in there?"

Xian Xia halted his steps and looked directly into Fang Huo's eyes. Fang Huo didn't move and waited. After a few moments, Xian Xia smiled with pride and said, "It's my mistake. I never introduced our village. Little brother… Welcome to our Mortal Village under the Hei Tribe. We're going to see Lord Hei, who is currently in charge of this village."
