Chapter 2339: The battle rages on

In the air of Heavenly Court's grotto-heaven, a gigantic dark cloud blanketed the sky. A giant shining leopard was dashing at great speed inside the dark cloud. The leopard had six legs and feathers grew all over them. Surrounding the leopard was a large group of star phantasms, trying their best to protect the leopard.

Their group was being attacked by countless monstrous creatures of indescribable shapes and colours. Most of them got shot down by the star phantasms and especially the star generals who could even use killer moves. However, because their amount was so great, these monsters slowly overwhelmed and destroyed the star phantasms.

Sitting in the head of the shining leopard, an injured Star Constellation Immortal Venerable constantly used her investigation killer moves to scout the area. She did not care about the waves of monsters trying to assault her nor did the reduction of star phantasms bother her in the slightest bit.

Just a short while earlier, Giant Sun Immortal Venerable managed to completely activate his killer move, which allowed him to link the luck of all living beings and heaven and earth of the world to himself, his strength grew to a terrifying level. His attacks were greatly enhanced, their destructive power even surpassed the defence that Star Constellation Immortal Venerable had put up before that.

It was not hard to understand. Heavenly Court, at the moment, was undoubtedly the largest grotto-heaven in the world and its foundation was yet paralleled by any other grotto-heaven, including Fang Yuan's Sovereign Immortal Aperture.

While Fang Yuan annexed the grotto-heavens that were hidden within the Immemorial Black and White Heaven, many of them were damaged. After all, not every grotto-heaven had methods to protect themselves from tribulations. However, when the gu immortals of Heavenly Court contributed their immortal apertures, they were all in pristine conditions. The difference between the two was vast like heaven and earth and that didn't include the number of immemorial nine heavens' fragments that was annexed by Heavenly Court.

But even with such a foundation, Heavenly Court grotto-heaven could still not be able to compete with the five regions, let alone the entire gu world from which Giant Sun Immortal Venerable had been receiving a power boost. Thus, Giant Sun could be said to have surpassed Star Constellation in fighting strength.

When Giant Sun Immortal Venerable smashed on the turtle that Star Constellation was hiding inside, despite all of her effort to use Galaxy Life Derivative Grand Formation to enhance its defence, the luck path's dao lord destroyed her star path formation and most of the turtle in one hit. The flashbacks from having both of her concentrated killer moves destroyed in such a brutish way greatly shocked Star Constellation's brain.

Luckily for Star Constellation, the impact also threw the remains of the turtle and herself back for thousands of miles before they slammed on a mountain. The first thing she did after she recovered from the impact was checking the Qi Harvest Fruit. Star Constellation made a sigh of relief when she saw it unscathed. She had to spend much effort to create the protection for the fruit as she did not dare to store it inside her immortal aperture.

Star Constellation could not detect Fang Yuan's refinement path method and that allow it to cause the devastating explosion that lead to her current terrible situation. But the fruit was not destroyed, half of it was still there but Star Constellation became fearful as she could not be sure if there was no longer any hidden method left by Fang Yuan in the fruit. The chance was not high but Fang Yuan was also known to be very resourceful and devious. This placed even more pressure on Star Constellation Immortal Venerable

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable was happy because he had eliminated Star Constellation's only advantage over himself. It was the first time he used this variation of the "I reside in all living beings and Heaven and Earth" killer move and he didn't know its full strength but the effect was much better than he predicted.

Giant Sun immediately charged toward Star Constellation after he found where she fell. He left a massive trail of golden light as he dashed through Heavenly Court, it was like a bridge that arch across the sky.

Star Constellation already knew the difference in strength was not in her favour so it was not ideal for her to fight head-on with Giant Sun. She made a quick decision to avoid fighting with Giant Sun and wait. After all, a killer move with such a powerful effect like Giant Sun's must put a great burden on his stored immortal essence was what she thought.

Star Constellation Immortal Venerable then created the star leopard and entered it. Compared to the turtle that Star Constellation used for defence before, this leopard was very weak. Even a peak rank 8 gu immortal would be able to kill it after putting in some effort. But its strong point was speed. One of the cores of this killer move was rank 8 Escaping Intent Immortal Gu. Using this gu, the more Star Constellation focused on escaping, the faster the leopard would be. If she put all of her focus in it, then the leopard would be as fast as her thoughts. But with its low defence, such a speed would quickly damage the leopard.

With this killer move, Star Constellation narrowly escaped from Giant Sun's incoming crashing pillars. The latter furiously chased after the leopard.

-Come back here you wench. This is all Heavenly Court's Immortal King can do? Running away?

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable shouted, trying to provoke Star Constellation. It did not have any effect as the leopard continue to run further away from him. Fang Yuan had been keeping his distance from both Giant Sun and Star Constellation. The other two Venerables were both possessing the strength of dao lord, Fang Yuan knew it would be very dangerous if he got caught up in their fight. Even though they had the same goal, which was to destroy the Qi Harvest Fruit and prevent Primordial Origin from resurrecting, Fang Yuan did not trust Giant Sun.

What if they suddenly turned on him together? Then it would be a truly dire situation. The chance was not high but the possibility was there and he would not risk it. Thus, Fang Yuan had only been watching. He once again understood that Star Constellation was hard to deal with.

Her immortal gu and killer move was exceptional. Catching up to her seemed nigh-impossible with her speed and trying to trap her with a battlefield killer move was not very realistic. Star Constellation might be below Giant Sun in combat at the moment, but Heavenly Court's wisdom path dao marks were all refined by her, she could easily detect any battlefield killer move being used with her investigation methods. Star Constellation Immortal Venerable began to move around and collect the leftover star phantasms and generals. She used them as shields to buy some time for her to heal the leopard. Then, Star Constellation was surprised due to Giant Sun suddenly stopped his attacks and retreat.

Immediately after, she realised what was happening. A gigantic figure was quickly approaching her. This figure had three heads, myriad giant arms and was as big as the sun. It was no other than Spectral Soul Demon Venerable. He was chasing after a group of Fang Yuan's totem killer moves. Then Spectral Soul spotted Star Constellation which was a much more attractive target for him.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable had put so much pressure on Star Constellation that Fang Yuan could release Spectral Soul from her restraining star fog and lead him toward the battlefield. Spectral Soul immediately swung hundreds of his giant arms at Star Constellation. The star leopard dodged out of the way in less than a blink of an eye as Star Constellation fully focused her mind.

Spectral Soul did not stop chasing, his three heads breathed out enormous dark clouds that contain countless soul beasts at the leopard. The soul beasts chased after Star Constellation and her leopard. They could not catch up to them but Spectral Soul continued to breathe out even more dark clouds. These clouds were very slow but they covered a massive area of space. More and more soul beasts keep charging at Star Constellation from all directions.

Meanwhile, Fang Yuan and Giant Sun Immortal Venerable were using their killer moves to hide from Spectral Soul Demon Venerable. Fang Yuan had his Heavenly Ghost Concealment while Giant Sun's killer move was greatly enhanced. Star Constellation Immortal Venerable could still sense them but Spectral Soul could not so he kept focusing on chasing her. At the same time, Star Constellation could not use her killer move to hide as Giant Sun would attempt to attack her each time she tried to do so.

The star leopard's speed was related to Star Constellation's focus on escaping. If she used her killer move to hide, her thought would be divided and Giant Sun would be able to catch up to her in his current state.

The situation became even direr for Star Constellation as the dark clouds covered more and more of Heavenly Court grotto-heaven. There was less space for her to run. Moreover, the leopard was reaching its limit. Soon, Star Constellation immortal venerable got engulfed by the dark cloud and was attacked by soul beasts from all directions.

She used the remaining star phantasms and generals to fight back against waves of soul beasts while she tried to heal the leopard and look out for attacks from her enemies. The dark clouds greatly affected her investigation killer moves. Star Constellation's groups of phantasms were getting reduced quickly and she could only see soul beasts approaching closer everywhere she looked.

She had no choice but to use Myriad Stars Grand Transformation killer move. Her star path dao marks once again were sacrificed to create another turtle constellation. Just as Star Constellation and her leopard entered the turtle, giant arms slammed upon it. The phantasms that were in the way of the arms, including the star generals were all destroyed. The turtle was held in place by Spectral Soul Demon Venerable. He then tried to break its but no matter what methods he used, the turtle kept enduring his attack and he could only put some cracks on its shell.

Then, a bright golden light shone through the dark clouds, a majestic golden statue appeared in front of Spectral Soul. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable had his right arm raised in the air, many golden pillars appeared and merged into a single huge pillar that was tens of thousands of miles long.

Immortal killer move - Compliant Golden Rod.

Spectral Soul release a thunderous roar as he felt threatened by this enemy greatly. He swung his giant arms at the golden statue and the soul beast waves also charged at it. Suddenly, Fang Yuan appeared out of nowhere, his aura was restrained and in his palm, there was a grey-white seal. Fang Yuan pushed it toward Spectral Soul and the seal flew out.

Immortal killer move - Dang Hun Luo Po Seal!

This move was called soul path's nemesis by Giant Sun Immortal Venerable. It was worthy of such a name. Not a single soul beast could withstand it and even Spectral Soul Demon Venerable was hurt by it. Hundreds of his giant arms were blown off causing him to lose balance and drop the star turtle with Star Constellation Immortal Venerable inside.

The path was cleared for Giant Sun and he had been waiting for just this moment. Compliant Golden Rod was radiating a fearful and condensed aura. It was so bright that mortals from the five regions could see its light and felt pain when they looked at it. Giant Sun brought down his arm, the Compliant Golden Rod began to slowly descend upon Star Constellation's star turtle. She could feel great pressure even though the killer move was still far away.

Star Constellation frantically tried to use her killer moves to avoid being hit. But no matter how she moved, the Golden Rod was fixed on her and continued to aim at her. It was like a giant meteor crashing down on a tiny ant. The end of Star Constellation Immortal Venerable was near.

Giant Sun Immortal was calmly watching it. He felt immense joy in his heart as one of his great enemies would be obliterated in just a few moments. He didn't even bother to insult Star Constellation. What was the point of insulting soon to be a dead woman? Giant Sun had already started to think of how he would deal with Spectral Soul and Fang Yuan. In his current state, he could easily overpower both of them. However, his immortal essences had reduced significantly. There were only about a third stored inside his immortal aperture. He would need to leave and wait for another chance. It was a great price he had to pay and that would affect his plans for the future but all of that was worth it for Star Constellation was about to die right this moment. "So long Heavenly Court, I am the winner"-he thought.

Then, Giant Sun had a hunch. He heard a very faint call.

-Giant Sun...hurry up...or...you...will be...dead!

It was Fang Yuan's voice. He was shouting. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable suddenly startled. The scenery around him started to change. There was no dark cloud, nor soul beast, nor Spectral Soul Demon Venerable, his Compliant Golden Rod about to finish off Star Constellation Immortal Venerable to be seen. Instead, there was only star fog and a huge pressure sent a chill down Giant Sun's spine.

From above, the gigantic Compliant Golden Rod was descending upon him. It was his killer move, and yet Giant Sun had lost control of it. When this killer move locked on its target, then it would be a sure hit, no matter where the target ran to. Giant Sun knew that, so instead of running, he instinctively put up his strongest defensive methods. A dark gold armour appeared on Giant Suns' body before a bright gold fog engulfed him.

The Compliant Golden Rod would soon crash down on Giant Sun. Heavenly Court grotto-heaven was immediately lit up blindingly after. A frightening silence consumed all noise on the battlefield, followed up but a great tremble as a giant crack split the sky of Heavenly Court in half, then another crack split it in fourth and then more cracks kept appeared after one another. Space was shattered where Giant Sun was last seen.

After five breaths time, Fang Yuan could hear something fell to the ground. When he looked down, Fang Yuan saw Giant Sun, whose golden body had lost its left forearm and seemed like it could fall apart at any moment, struggled to stand up.

He witnessed all that had just happened. Right at the time when Giant Sun was about to smash on the shell of Star Constellation's turtle, it exploded itself into a sea of star fog. Then after that, it seemed Giant Sun was fighting something in there all this time. Fang Yuan had tried to investigate the star fog but it was so rich with wisdom path dao marks and he couldn't detect much more but he could sense something was wrong.

It was only when Giant Sun used his Compliant Golden Rod killer move, which was condensed with most of the luck Giant Sun managed to gather from the world that the star fog became unstable for a brief moment that Fang Yuan could wake him up. Giant Sun woke up just half a breath before he was struck with his killer move, which ended up saving him from an even greater wound.

The star fog reformed itself into the shining turtle, a feminine figure with long, beautiful black hair emerged on top of it with a chessboard in her hand.

Star Constellation Immortal Venerable smiled.

-Fellow Giant Sun, how do you feel about my combat system? - She chuckled- You lowlifes thought you can challenge the might of Heavenly Court. Our foundation is deeper than you can ever imagine.

Fang Yuan was surprised. From Star Constellation's, he could detect the aura of not only the Mental Domain but two more secluded domains of heaven and earth. However, what truly shocked Fang Yuan, even more, were not their amount or that they are secluded domains.

It was their appearance during the clash between Giant Sun and Star Constellation that was the true reason. Fang Yuan could see clearly that these two secluded domains were created by the latter during the fight.

-How could she create them like that? - Fang Yuan asked himself.

Fang Yuan had deceived both Star Constellation and Giant Sun to refine a rank nine immortal gu right under their nose. He could have done it because he was refinement path venerable but the process was very dangerous and difficult even for him.

Furthermore, Fang Yuan remembered that he did not detect any refinement methods, be it Human Isolation Style or heaven and earth isolation style or their oppositions, used during the fight.

Star Constellation was wisdom path venerable, her refinement path attainment could not be higher than Fang Yuan's. She should not have any better refinement method than him.
