4 Chapter 2338: Dark future awaits Heavenly Court

At one of the ten great ancient sects of the Central Continent, Spirit Affinity House, there was an atmosphere of high urgency.

-Lady Qin Ding Ling, all the works have been assigned just as your orders.

The person who just spoke was the first supreme elder of the Spirit Affinity House. She was bowing in front of Qin Ding Ling, who had Zhao Lian Yun by her side. The gu immortals who escaped from Heavenly Court had split into many groups and entered the ten great ancient sects.

Qin Ding Ling, who answered shortly and waved her hand, the first supreme elder quickly left the area. There were now only the two of Qin Ding Ling and Zhao Lian Yun inside the hall. Zhao Lian Yun bit her lips, there were tears in her eyes. Qin Ding Ling saw that and sighed once more. She understood how Zhao Lian Yun was feeling. The enemies they had hoped to encounter and strike down proved to be far beyond their capabilities. They could not even do anything but retreat like injured dogs with tails between their legs. Anger, desperation and especially helplessness filled Qin Ding Ling's heart. The only thing that she was able to do at the moment would be wishing for the victory of Star Constellation Immortal Venerable and also carrying out the plan that she was given by her.

-Keep your spirit up, we must have faith in our Immortal King. For now, we have our own duties to fulfill.

Zhao Lian Yun nodded silently after wiping her tears. Qin Ding Ling then began to lead both of them out of the room. Soon, the main courtyard of Spirit Affinity House showed itself before Qin Ding Ling and Zhao Lian Yun. Floating in the air were numerous Immortal Gu Houses, most of which were being dismantled. These immortal gu houses were previously among the constructs that made up the infrastructure inside Heavenly Court grotto-heaven. They were already incomplete to begin with to keep their cost down. Because of that, each of them only possessed very few or sometimes only one ability. This resulted in these immortal gu houses to have low practicality outside of Heavenly Court. However, that does not mean the Heavenly Court does not possess the complete designs of them.

In fact, not only Heavenly Court had every single immortal gu houses' complete designs and continued to improve them throughout the years. Of course, these design templates were kept a secret even from the normal members of Heavenly Court. In time of need, Heavenly Court could quickly modify and complete the immortal gu houses to form a terrifying army.

But at the moment, not only the one hundred immortal gu houses brought out of Heavenly Court by Qin Ding Ling and other gu immortals were incomplete but also badly damaged as well because of Fang Yuan. Thus, many of them needed to be repaired.

But, Qin Ding Ling and her group did not bring much resources with them so they headed toward the ten great ancient sects. However, the ancient sects also suffered heavily from the battle with Qi Ancestor, Zhan Bu Du and Wu Shuai and the Central Continent was just plundered cruelly by Fang Yuan. The Heaven Refining Demon Immortal took most of the super and large resource points and destroyed any that were not good enough for him to be bothered with. The result of his actions turned the Central Continent into a barren wasteland and the ten great ancient sects' storages became extremely pitiful.

Out of options, Qin Ding Ling ordered the gu immortals to dismantle the most damaged of the immortal gu houses to take out some materials and make up for it. She received reports on the progress and Qin Ding Ling could not help but feel a huge sink in her heart.

Qin Ding Ling did not dare to imagine what would await them in the future. Nineteen immortal gu houses sounded like a lot, but in truth, most of them were only rank six with only five rank seven and Demon Judgement Board as the sole rank eight gu house. With each step forward, Giant Sun's luck began to surge and increase quickly. His muscles slowly started to bulge and around him, a gold transparent human shape was forming.

Both Fang Yuan and Star Constellation Immortal Venerable had seen a similar sight before when Giant Sun Immortal Venerable used his killer move called "I reside in all living beings and Heaven and Earth".

However, there was also some difference. Previously, Giant Sun Immortal Venerable would create a giant pillar of light for a nine breath duration and absorb luck from the entire five regions to gain a massive boost in power. But at the moment, it had been longer than nine breaths and Giant Sun had yet to become as strong as last time.

Fang Yuan and Star Constellation could sense that he was indeed absorbing luck from the world but at a much slower rate. As he got closer to Star Constellation, he would become stronger and stronger.

Her star phantasms could not enter the golden path, so Star Constellation ordered them to focus on Fang Yuan. Their upper bodies were that of humanoids, all of whom were hundreds of meters tall, fully clad in heavy armors and they wielded different weapons including bows, great swords, shields, mace,... while their lower halves were dense star fogs. These phantasms emitted different aura from the other star phantasms. While the others could only be compared to normal immemorial desolate beasts, these armored humanoid phantasms were very intrinsic and at least had battle strength of peak rank eight or even on par with pseudo-venerables.

-Star Generals, destroy them! - Star Constellation Immortal Venerable glared at Fang Yuan and gave her order to the newly formed phantasms.

Immediately, the Star General with bow pulled the string and shot at Giant Sun Immortal Venerable. Myriad starlight arrows quickly formed out of thin air and rain upon Giant Sun. When these arrows pierced into the golden path, they only slightly reduced in size and continued to assault Giant Sun. He raised his arms to block as the starlight arrows strike heavily on him, causing great shockwaves on impact.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable stood his ground and defended himself without suffering a single injury. The starlight arrows got absorbed into the golden path. However, before he could do anything, five of the Star Generals already closed in on him while three others headed for Fang Yuan. The Five Star Generals entered the golden path, their lucks were shaken but their defenses were really extraordinary and could endure the effect of Giant Sun's killer move. They mightily swung their weapons down upon Giant Sun. A loud explosion could be heard as starlight flashed blindingly and the sky shook violently.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable once again used his arms to block the attacks. His body was shaking hard, his knees half knelt and his breath became interrupted. Blood started to spill from his forearms. Giant Sun got injured.

It was because he did not use any defensive killer move but rather used his own body to block the attacks. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable did not want to.

The golden path was a variation of "I reside in all living beings and Heaven and Earth" killer move. It was different from the original killer move in that it did not draw luck from the five regions at one time to give a huge boost in power, which would result in Giant Sun's luck being damaged. Instead, it would link Giant Sun luck to the world. The more he walked it, the more links would be formed and the more power he could draw from them. This way, not only Giant Sun would receive a continuous power boost at the end but his luck would not be damaged as well. In short, he would gain strength that could rival a Dao lord would this killer move.

This move of course did have its downsides. First of all, it took much longer for the killer move to be completed and it would give chances for the enemies to interfere. Secondly, Giant Sun could not leave the golden path or walk back, else the killer move would be a failure and all his effort became nothing. Even if he got pushed back, it would be the same. Lastly, the killer move required a large amount of thought for concentration and also was very costly in terms of immortal essence to keep it activated .

The last was the reason Giant Sun did not want to use defensive killer moves to protect himself. The cost of thoughts was really huge, Giant Sun needed to be very careful to save them as much as possible in order to maintain the golden path killer move.

Such a killer move obviously was not suitable in a fight. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable, with the talent of luck path Venerable, just only deduced this move recently in this battle and there were still many drawbacks that he could not eliminate. But this was the only hope he had to fight against Star Constellation Immortal Venerable, who had the strength of a Dao lord in Heavenly Court grotto-heaven.

The wounded Star General suddenly grabbed the arm of Giant Sun's specter and the other star phantasms immediately attempted to attack Giant Sun once more.

The Northern Plain's Venerable shouted his battle cry furiously, from him many more giant golden arms shot out in all directions. A storm of myriad fists consumed all of the Star Generals that were surrounding Giant Sun. Just moments later, they had been reduced to nothing but clusters of star fog. However, the golden path also started to shake and became unstable. Giant Sun groaned in pain as he tried to focus on the killer move.

Just as Giant Sun Immortal Venerable wanted to charge forward, he was struck one more time with a rain of starlight arrows which greatly slowed him down. At the same time, the star fog clusters suddenly dashed back to Star Constellation and vanished into Galaxy Life Derivative Grand Formation.

-Fang Yuan!

Giant Sun shouted loudly.

Fang Yuan was being chased around by three Star Generals while a fourth supported them with a bow from afar.

-These phantasms possess such great fighting power, they can even use killer moves.-He thought- Creating them must have cost Star Constellation a considerable amount of immortal essence. How many more of these can she make? Or, the cost might not really be that big. Parts of Heavenly Court's storage are probably kept inside her immortal aperture.

It was not unreasonable to think that Star Constellation Immortal Venerable was keeping some of the resources of Heavenly Court with her. After all, it would be the safest choice as there had been many times where the storage got sneaked in and stolen away right under the noses of other Heavenly Court's members.

Fang Yuan was using his totem killer moves and the golden path to fight against the Star Generals. He had heard Giant Sun's call for help. Judging by the situation, if Fang Yuan decided to not aid Giant Sun, there was a chance the latter would be seriously injured. He thought about the idea for just a mere second before quickly tossed it aside. It was simply because there was no benefit in doing so. Giant Sun Immortal Venerable was playing his role as spearhead perfectly and Fang Yuan alone would not be able to emerge victorious. That would in turn give a chance for Primordial Origin to be resurrected.

Fang Yuan lengthened the distance with his pursuers before he opened his sovereign immortal aperture and Zhan Bu Du quickly emerged from within.

The latter was already wearing a bloody cape. Without even exchanging a single word, Zhan Bu Du sped up like a lightning strike toward Giant Sun Immortal Venerable. As Zhan Bu Du was getting closer, brand new four Star Generals stepped out from Galaxy Life Derivative Grand Formation. They also charged at Giant Sun, who was still continuing to move forward along the golden path.

The blood cape on Zhan Bu Du's back suddenly expanded and wrapped around his body before transforming into a giant drill. His speed increased rapidly and a loud noise similar to that of a thunderclap could be heard before Zhan Bu Du rushed past Giant Sun in less than a blink of an eye. He drilled through the forefront Star General like piercing through a piece of glass, causing it to explode.

Zhan Bu Du did not give the rest of the Star Generals time to react. The bloody cape unwrapped him and he quickly struck another of them with his fists. A second Zhan Bu Du jumped out from thin air and attacked the third Star General and pushed it out of the golden path.

-That was...Thieving Heaven Demon Venerable's Perfect Pair killer move?

Star Constellation Immortal Venerable was shocked, she recognized this killer move which could create a clone with full battle strength of the original. Fang Yuan had never used this move before, but now it suddenly appeared on his split soul. This made Star Constellation feel very uneasy.

-Haha, great job.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable laughed. There was only one last Star General that stood in front of him. He charged at it and punched through the phantasm without much effort. Giant Sun began to approach Star Constellation with great speed. The closer he was, the brighter and the more condensed his golden aura became.

Star Constellation tried her hardest to stop Giant Sun's steps with her star phantasms and Generals but it was mostly futile as he received aid from Fang Yuan and Zhan Bu Du. Soon, the aura turned blindingly bright, even brighter than the sun created by rank nine Light gu and rank nine Fire gu.

Seeing such terrifying and unstoppable force was only moments away, Star Constellation Immortal Venerable decided to use all the strength of Galaxy Life Derivative Grand Formation to enhance the defense of the turtle constellation killer move.

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable reached the final part of the golden path, his killer move was completely activated. Unimaginable amount of luck all gathered in him at that moment. As Giant Sun received an unmeasurable boost in all aspects, his body became that of a majestic crowned gold statue radiating immense energy and power. One could say he was the only attraction in the Gu world.

-Star Constellation Immortal Venerable!!!...

Giant Sun Immortal Venerable shouted as he incredibly leapt up above the giant turtle floating in the air. With all of his radiant aura focused in his two fists, Giant Sun descended toward the turtle and smashed upon its shell with all his might.

The impact caused an apocalyptic quake that shook not only Heavenly Court grotto-heaven but also Spectral Heaven and could be felt across the five regions.
