Not everyone has the natural talent to become a Gu Master. Generally speaking, it is not bad if 5 out of 10 people have the talent to become a Gu Master.

Primarily a person's talent is what determines which rank they will be able to reach as a Gu Master. The most common knowledge among Gu Masters is that there are only four talent grades corresponding to the maximum capacity of primeval essence being stored inside the aperture. They range from A grade (best), B grade, C grade, to D grade (worst).

Primeval essence is a naturally occurring kind of energy found inside the Primeval Sea of a Gu Master's aperture. As soon as a mortal unlocks his aperture, he or she becomes a Gu Master and is able to feel and manipulate the primeval essence inside their aperture. The primeval essence of a newly awakened Gu Master is described as resembling seawater which is smooth like a mirror, showing a dense greenish-blue color, yet also exhibiting a copper luster. The color of the primeval essence changes depending on the rank and stage of the Gu Master as well as it's purity.

Mortal Gu Masters have 5 realms, from the bottom (rank 1) all the way up to the top (rank 5). The rank a mortal Gu Master can achieve is primarily dependent on their cultivation aptitude. Mortal Gu Masters cultivate by refining the walls of their mortal aperture with the help of their primeval essence. Once the walls have reached a certain point, they can't be refined any further, at this point the Gu Master uses their primeval essence to break and destroy their aperture walls. The broken aperture walls would give way to that of the next minor realm, or in case of a rank up, to that of the next rank. Their aperture would from now on produce primeval essence of the corresponding rank.

In a Gu Master's cultivation, it was easy to advance through small realms, they only needed enough time and patience. However, every large realm had a barrier, and the higher you go, the harder it is to cross. But that's not the case with the ten extreme physiques, they can continue to advance without obstacles.

Gu Masters walk on the path of the Great Dao. The path that a Gu Master has the highest amount of intimacy with is the one related to their vital Gu, if the Gu Master has a fire path Gu as a vital Gu, the Gu Master will have an easier time to comprehend the Great Dao of fire than that of the other path's.

Humans are the spirit of all living beings and Gu are the essence of heaven and earth, the essence of the world itself. In the Gu world, there are countless species and an ever-increasing number of (new) Gu. Wild Gu are able to use naturally occurring primeval energy and create wondrous effects. In nature, under the right conditions, Gu can form from lifeforms such as insects, they live everywhere in the deepest crevices of the earth, the highest of clouds, on the bodies of wild beasts, and most dangerous of plants, and even in the dreams of man.

Humans nurture, use, and refine Gu, they are making use of the Gu to display the might of heaven and earth. By living, procreating and accumulating experiences over generations, they eventually understand the laws of the world. After becoming a Gu Immortal, the aperture becomes an immortal aperture, and dao marks are carved on it. One could say that Gu Masters are nurturing "dao" when they nurture Gu, they are using "dao" when they use Gu, and they are refining "dao" when they refine Gu. There are Gu Masters of all sorts of paths, cultivating all the different aspects of the Great Dao.

And to answer your last question, what are the living creatures in that world

In the Gu world, apart from the humans born from Ren Zu's proper bloodline, there were also 10 large known variant humans races. These 10 races are HairyMen, Eggmen, Rockmen, Feathermen, Inkmen, Snowmen, Minimen, Mermen, Beastmen and Mushroommen.

Variant Humans might be more intelligent compared to other lifeforms but they were far from having human wisdom. For example, HairyMen were ignorant, Eggmen were innocent, and Rockmen were naive and barbaric.

Before the first Venerable existed, the Variant Human races used to rule the Gu World. Treating humans as livestock/slaves.

The human race was suppressed by these races and lived in despair until one day, a human called Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable obtained the Fate Gu from them. Using the Fate Gu, he cultivated to Rank 9 and united the human race to resist the Variant Human race. He founded Heavenly Court in the Central Continent as a symbol to continue to resist the Variant Human races and for the human race to regain their freedom.

After the Venerables, who were humans, appear one after the another in different eras, the Variant Human race had completely lost the war and lost all their territories in the Gu World. All of their kinds strongest were killed, leaving only the old, sick, and weak ones to hide from the humans in the Gu World. The biggest reason for their decline was because of the second Venerable, named Star Constellation Immortal Venerable. She founded the "Wisdom Dao School" and allowed the humans to use wisdom path to calculate the whereabouts of the Variant Human race who were hidden inside their Blessed Lands and Grotto-Heavens. Having exposed the whereabouts of the enemy's home, humans can easily attack their headquarters. The Beastmen race was almost completely annihilated during the era of the fourth Venerable named Reckless Savage Demon Venerable. There is only a small number of the sea-based Beastmen left who avoided the calamity that took place on land.

Most of the Variant Human race now are being bred by human Gu Immortals to exploit the specialties of their races. Now the human race sees the Variant Human race as inferior beings and that the humans are a superior race that can cultivate to Rank 9. The means to cultivate to Rank 9 has always been kept a secret among the Venerables and many Variant Humans seek to discover the secret over the eras. While many variant humans are now harmless and only seek to live in peace, they are despised by humans and any large colonies would be eradicated if discovered.

Currently, most of the large colonies of these races are hiding in the 2 Heavens where the Grotto-Heavens of their ancestors are protected by their Gu Immortals. The heavens are fair and not would seek to cause any unbalance among the races, so the heavens look after these races and would not lower any strong disasters upon them during their Gu Immortal tribulations. Currently, in the Five Regions, there are also some large colonies of races hidden among humans. The only 3 most famous ones who were not hidden from the humans are the Mermen clan living in the Eastern Sea among the other large righteous clans, the Inkmen clan in the Northern Plains, and the Mushroommen in the Southern Border. The reason for it was because of the 10th Venerable called Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable. He was famous for his kindness and benevolence in the Gu World, who treat all races as equals. Not only had he help many humans, but he also protected many Variant Humans races."
