Fang Yuan's End

"You are now dead, Fang Yuan"

Star Constellation Immortal Venerable said in a deep tone. Her body was riddled with injuries as her robes were stained in blood. Nonetheless, she was standing upright.

Beside her were both Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable and Giant Sun Immortal Venerable.

"Although we had to sacrifice Spectral Soul and Red Lotus, we are still capable of reviving them later on, albeit, as mortals" said Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable who is also riddled with injuries. The other Venerables were actually able to revive during this war. Each of them with their own intentions.

Fang Yuan, who was in front of them had a lifeless expression. He was severely injured and was even missing an arm. He had used everything in his disposal. From compound killer moves, the using of his clones to the abuse of his sheer number of Dao Marks. In the end, it was all futile.

"Hehe" Fang Yuan laughed in pity. "To think that this is how it'll end for me", he said with a smile on his face.

"This is how it should end for you", Genesis Lotus had a serious expression on his face. This battle has caused countless losses and casualties everywhere. Fang Yuan even caused the destruction of the Eastern Sea. These losses would take countless centuries to recover.

"That's quite fair", Fang Yuan replied with a sincere tone. Inside his Grotto-Heaven however, he was preparing a final trump card. This was a killer-move he created from a burst of inspiration he had before the battle.

This was a compound killer-move encompassing Soul Path, Heaven Path, Refinement Path, Wisdom Path Human Path, Space Path, and Rule Path.

He got this idea when he contemplated about Limitless and Theiving Heaven's methods of escaping this so called "Gu World".

He wanted to create a killer-move that is able to make his soul and will traverse beyond the chaos ahead, in case his body is unable to withstand the destruction that even previous Venerables are helpless against.

However, this move is, for the most part, incomplete. Thus, the chances of success are unrealistic.

"I have to gamble with my life on the line once again" Fang Yuan said with a mysterious grin on his face.

Indeed, he has faced numerous life and death situations before this. One example was his gamble when he was fighting against the split soul of Spectral Soul.

"Get back! Quick!"

Upon seeing this grin, the other Venerables reacted quickly and moved away from him using their respective methods.

"A traveler from another world, living a life of difficulty and suffering,

Only to discover that he was an arrangement, an arrangement from the will above

He was able to become strong, strong enough to defy it

Alas, it was not enough, not enough to overcome this world

But my heart remains resolute! I shall continue my journey!

If there is a next life, I shall reign supreme and achieve Immortality!

I shall trample those who oppose me!

My journey will last for an for as long as I will it to!

Fang Yuan expended every Dao Mark in his body to activate this move. He also used all his immortal essence beads.

Fang Yuan had a tranquil expression on his face. Memories of his life in this world flashed. From his first 500 years, to his battles after rebirth. Finally, he remembered his first love, Xie Han Mo. Subconsciously, a tear fell out of his eye. "May we meet again in my next life" he whispered.

His body emmited a bright light, as he exploded to pieces. The remnants of his body formed a "vessel" that housed his will and soul. Finally, Space Path and Rule Path Dao Marks formed a dark portal. The vessel entered this portal, and the portal dissapeared without a trace.

There was a silence that lasted for several breaths.

Fang Yuan was finally no more!

Star Constellation Immortal Venerable and the other Venerables released a sigh of relief.

"It is finally over", Star Constellation said with a complicated expression.

"Indeed", Giant Sun agreed with her.

Genesis Lotus added, "With him finally gone, Humanity can reign supreme for an eternity"

Giant Sun had the urge to run away but Star Constellation stopped him and said "Don't worry, we will not supress you and your Northern Plains; this is your reward for helping us stop Fang Yuan"

Giant Sun released another sigh of relief. This battle truly took a toll on his mind.

Starting today, Gu Yue Fang Yuan was no more. Heavenly Court was able to fully recover after a millenia and the 5 regions and 2 heavens were finally able to recover from the damage caused from the battle between Venerables.

Although Fang Yuan was no more, his achievements and adventures were still discussed by Gu Masters and Gu Immortals alike.

During this era, the Refinement Path Convention was held once again. Talents from across the world flooded Central Continent.

"So its that time of the year again, huh"

Feng Jin Huang, or should I say, Great Dream Immortal Venerable, said while feeling quite nostalgic.

"Indeed, time runs so fast", Star Constellation, who was beside her, replied.

"Stop talking like that please, you are making me feel old", she replied whilst holding her face.

" You are old, if I'm not mistaken, you are 1030 years old", Star Constellation teased.

"Didn't you challenge Fang Yuan here to a refinement battle before? I heard that you lost real bad", Star Constellation was enjoying teasing Great Dream.

"IT WAS A TIE, A TIE!!", she was unwilling to admit defeat.

Feng Jin Huang, at this moment, had Quasi-Supreme Grandmaster Attainment on almost all paths. Refinement Path was one of them. She wanted to find a catalyst for her breakthrough and decided to observe this convention.

"I wonder how he is doing", Great Dream said with an unusual melancholic expression.

"He's either dead or in another world. Who knows? That move he used were both mysterious and profound; its impossible to speculate" Star Constellation replied with a complicated expression.

"Why are you still thinking about him? He is no longer here and is only a piece of history. Could it be that you are lovestruck?" Star Constellation teased her once again

Great Dream paused for a moment and finally replied, "Maybe".

Star Constellation was a bit surprised and sighed, "It seems like only Giant Sun is able to enjoy romance, the rest of us are hopeless"

Red Lotus lost his wife, Spectral Soul was only obssesed with slaughtering, both male venerables of Heavenly Court were indifferent towards these matters, Limitless was obssesed with the Dao, whilst she had to leave her variant human lover.
