1 A Life In A Chapter

The sun is rising in the city of Lightvile. A young man can be seen driving his vehicle towards the suburbs, looking very drained as he had just come from his night shift back at the hospital. This man is Travis Wyatt, a 28-year-old surgeon at LV Hospital. He's extremely tired, having had a lot to do yesterday, and he needs to rest. He soon arrives at his house, a beautiful two-story house located in one of the best neighborhoods.

He had worked extremely hard to become this successful, and he owes it all to his darling wife, Linda, who has been in his life for most of it. They met in high school when he was going through a tough time after his parents recently died, putting him in a gloomy mood. Linda became his bright light, and everything in life has been going well since then. Travis reaches his house, opens the gate with his key, and enters his car, noticing someone running out of his house from the corner of his eye.

Travis quickly gets out of his car, determined to investigate. He sees a man with blond hair running to a car parked on the other side of the road. Travis starts his car and drives off, feeling extremely uneasy. He takes his bag and keys, then enters the unlocked door.

'So, there was someone here,' he thought. Continuing to walk past the living room, he reaches the stairs, drops his stuff on the couch, and walks up the stairs, feeling his mind wavering a bit. When he gets to the top, he stares at his bedroom door, slightly opened, and sees Linda walk out with her dashing smile.

She hugs him and sweetly says, "Honey, you're home. I've missed you so much, I could hardly sleep without you beside me."

But Travis isn't foolish; he stares at her with blank eyes, pushes her aside, and opens the bedroom door, disgusted by the sight inside. He turns back to Linda, and her beautiful shine suddenly disappears from his eyes, turning her into an ordinary beautiful woman.

"I guess this is the end, Linda. Be ready to hear from a lawyer," he says calmly. Travis walks past her, takes his laptop and other important things, not caring about the clothes, and leaves the house immediately, leaving Linda silent in the same area where she had stood before. She didn't know why, but she was extremely saddened by what had just happened. The saying goes, and I hope you don't cringe: "You only know you love them when they're gone."

Travis drives at a steady pace, sad but concealing it on his face. He parks his car in front of a cafe, the place he has chosen to meet his lawyer.

She soon arrives, a beautiful redhead with an extremely hot body, carrying a very expensive-looking phone and purse. Scanning the place, she sees Travis sitting there with a calm gaze, and she smiles before walking over to him.

"Travis, it's been a while, hasn't it?" she asks, sitting across from him with a beautiful smile.

"Yes, it has. The last time I saw you was when that guy tried to sue me, but let's forget about that. I want to file a divorce," he says, showing no emotions. Travis has cultivated stoicism since he was young, and he honestly thanks God that he did.

"Oh, that's a surprise. Well, that's no problem. Do you have anything else?" she asks.

"He's the reason; it's all in this USB. It'll help me win the case. I wish I had signed up for a Pre-Nup, but I guess love blinded me at the time," he says with a smile.

"I did say you should do it just in case. But let's not talk about the past. Now, Travis, I'll report this, and you'll be given an update as soon as possible. You'll probably be called to court in a day or two. So I hope you stay safe, okay?" she says.

He nods, and she gets up and walks away. He sits back and orders some coffee, taking his phone from his pocket and seeing the wallpaper of Linda wearing her wedding dress, which hurts him, but Travis isn't a crier. He puts it back to default and continues with his thinking.

[A week passes]

The divorce is successful; he still gets to keep his assets but lets her keep the house, reasoning that he doesn't need it anymore. Travis is currently on an airplane flying to a new country.

"It's better to start anew; that place holds so many memories. Well, it is what it is," he thinks, turning his blank face into a warm smile. As a wise man once said, "Fake it till you make it."

He soon arrives in England, where he will start his new life. Having already moved branches, he doesn't have to worry about getting a job. Travis is currently sitting in his office, staring at the laptop, and looking at stock market news. He understands that working this job won't give him a new life, so he decides to try his luck with trading. Having already studied, all he needs to do is start trading. He isn't confident, but he says, "It is what it is."

Finally, he trades, and the result isn't that good. That makes him study more until he does it again, and this time, he gets a profit. Yet he isn't that happy about it, so he does it again and continues until he finally makes his big profit. He quits and starts looking at shares that have recently opened.

He looks for a very profitable business that makes a lot of money in a day. It's an unexpected one, but Travis is happy with his decision. He buys 4 percent of PornHub's shares, which instantly makes him a millionaire.

"Wow, that was unexpected. Well, guess all I have to do is sit back and watch the money pile up," he thinks.

[Two years have passed]

Travis is currently on the list of billionaires, but that doesn't make him happy in the slightest. It's not that money doesn't bring him happiness; he's just bored with that artificial happiness. He wants something more, genuine happiness. So he decides to donate all his money to many orphanages and people in need around the world. He does this anonymously since he hates attention. Right now, Travis is sitting on top of his car hood, gazing at the beautiful horizon in front of him, mesmerized.

"I'm happy."

Suddenly, his eyes shut, and he is engulfed in darkness. The last thing he sees is the beautiful scenery, which he will never forget, even if he dies right now.

In a room that looks to be owned by a teenager, with many action figures and things left untidy, a teenage boy lies on the bed. He opens his eyes and is very surprised by the nostalgic ceiling.

"This is my room," he says in shock. He sits up and looks around, wondering why he is back here. "Wait, did I just get reborn or whatever they call it?"

Then he hears a "Ding" in his head, making him smirk.
