Chapter 1

Isabelle Wilkerson is a famous model. Even though she has reached the age of 30, Isabelle still looks beautiful. She hasn't had any children despite being married for 2 years, but fate has not yet blessed her with offspring.

***5:00 PM***

Isabelle tightly grips the cake she's holding as she watches her husband sweating with another woman in their room. That woman happens to be her own bestfriend named Jenny Moore. Tears almost escape her beautiful eyes, but she manages to hold them back. She shakes her head as if she can't believe what she's seeing-her husband and her bestfriend acting recklessly behind her back.

Quickly grabbing her phone, she starts recording her husband, who is still entangled with the other woman. After feeling she has enough evidence of his infidelity, she puts her phone away.

Feeling composed, Isabelle pick up a vase of flowers and slams it on the floor, startling the unfaithful couple.

"Darn it," Jenny mutters.

"This isn't like you..." her husband begins to make excuses, but Isabelle cuts him off.

"Hurry up and get dressed. I'll be waiting downstairs," Isabelle says and turns to leave, leaving the two of them in the room.

**********

"What are we going to do, Zac?" Jenny asks, panic in her voice.

"Just stay calm, darling. Nothing will happen. Put your clothes on, and we'll go downstairs," Zac says, trying to reassure Jenny even though he's anxious himself.

After getting dressed, Zac and Jenny go to the living room to face Isabelle.

Isabelle lifts her head and gazes blankly at her husband.

"Why, Zac? Why did you do this to me? What's even more painful is that you slept with my bestfriend, someone I considered like a sister. Maybe with someone else, it wouldn't hurt this much," Isabelle says with tears in her eyes.

"I was too naive, Zac. I thought it was just me in your heart. We've known each other for 5 years, been married for 2. Has our togetherness meant nothing to you? I'm disappointed and heartbroken," Isabelle says, looking at Zac with disappointment before shifting her gaze to Jenny, who is still bowing her head.

"Jenny, what did I ever do to you? Why are you both doing this to me?" Isabelle cries uncontrollably.

"I'm sorry," Jenny apologize with a whisper.

"Zac, just divorce me and be happy with her!" Isabelle says firmly.

Zac lifts his head, looking at Isabelle as she wipes away her tears.

"No, my love, I won't divorce you. I love you deeply, you are the only one that I really love," Zac says, shaking his head.

"If you truly love me, you wouldn't betray me like this, Zac. And you wouldn't have gone this far with her, even in our own bedroom," Isabelle looks at the two people she used to care a lot with disappointment. Her tears continue to fall.

"Please, my love, forgive me. I won't do it ever again," Zac replies.

"You two should get married; you've gone this far," Isabelle says.

"Do you approve of us, my love? I promise we'll be fair to you both," Zac says with hope that Isabelle want to have an open relationship.

"I'm sorry, Zac, I didn't say I'm staying with you. We're still going our separate ways," Isabelle says firmly, staring sharply at the person in front of her, causing Zac to freeze.

After saying that, Isabelle clutches her chest, feeling suffocated. She even lightly pounds her chest.

Isabelle rushes out to her car, leaving the two people who have hurt her deeply behind.

Zac watches his wife run and chases after her.

"Darling, wait," Zac shouts.

"Please don't go, my love, let's talk this out," Zac says, banging on the car window.

But Isabelle continues to drive at high speed, ignoring her husband's pleas. Isabelle continues to cry, pressing on her aching chest. Her car keeps circling the city, with no clear destination, especially now that it's late at night.

"Why, Zac? Why did you do this to me?" Isabelle cries, tears streaming down her flawless cheeks.

"I hate you, Zac."

Her hair now disheveled, and her makeup has run due to her crying. Isabelle stops her car on a deserted street to clam her chaotic heart. She closes her eyes for a moment to quell her still-turbulent emotions.

**********

Isabelle sat in her car, her emotions still in turmoil. Her mind raced with questions and her heart ached with betrayal. She couldn't believe what had just happened, the shocking revelation of her husband's infidelity with her own friend, Jenny. As she tried to collect her thoughts, Isabelle's tears continued to flow, leaving streaks on her cheeks.

In the distance, she heard the faint sound of sirens, a reminder of the bustling city that continued to live its life, oblivious to her pain. Isabelle wiped away her tears and took a deep breath, trying to regain some composure.

As she sat alone in her car, Isabelle reflected on the life she had built with Zac. They had shared so many dreams and aspirations, and she had believed that their love was strong enough to weather any storm. But now, it all seemed like a cruel illusion.

Isabelle's phone buzzed, and she noticed a text message from Zac. Despite her anger and heartbreak, she couldn't ignore it. She unlocked her phone and read his message.

"I'm so sorry, Isabelle. I never meant for any of this to happen. Please, let's talk. We can work this out."

- Zac

Isabelle stared at the message for a moment, torn between her anger and the love she had once felt for Zac. She knew that a conversation was needed, but it wouldn't be easy. With a trembling hand, she typed a response.

"I need time to think, Zac. I can't talk right now."

- Isabelle

She hit send and put her phone aside. Isabelle's mind was a whirlwind of emotions. She didn't know where she was going or what her next steps would be, but one things was clear: her life had taken an unexpected and painful turn.
