'The Boss will see you now'

The kind secretary announced and led the way to the boss's office, with Hailey following her silently. Around them were people dressed in only black and full of tattoos, like an underground club filled with alcoholics.

They stopped in front of a huge metal door, the secretary knocked a few times and then opened the door wide, letting Hailey into the Boss's office. Hailey exhaled and stepped inside the huge office.

It was a perfectly decorated office. Filled with grey furniture and walls mostly made of glass. The floor had a very unique grey color and the desk in the middle of room had the color of vanilla.

Behind the office was sitting a tall man with dark brown hair and Blue captivating eyes, that were looking straight into Hailey's, making her feel uncomfortable and kind of weak in her knees.

The Boss moved his hand towards the secretary and she immediately exited the room, closing the door behind her and leaving Hailey and the boss all alone, in the silence of the moment.

The boss still not taking his eyes away from Hailey's, moved his head a little, pointing at the chair that was placed In front of his desk, silently ordering Hailey to sit there.

Hailey took a deep breath and broke the eye contact, walking closer and sat on the chair that the boss had previously pointed her to sit at. It was a comfortable chair made from metal and bamboo, it was colored in grey and had a small pillow for the back.

Hailey took off her red coat and left it on the other chair next to her, staying with only her short and slim white dress she had put one especially for the boss, it was her plan. Make him fall in love with you, break his heart and then kill him.

Hailey expected him to look straight to her feet or breast but the boss didn't move an inch. He kept having that cold and at the same time mysterious and burning expression that set Hailey's body on fire.

The boss cleared his throat and after a few seconds, placed his hands crossed on the desk, turning to face Hailey and make for once again a very uncomfortable eye contact with her, smirking at her.

'So Ms. Smith, you have been requesting a meeting with me for months, you have your chance, impress me'

The boss spoke with a playful, mysterious and the same time cold voice, smirking at Hailey and bringing her on the edge of screaming at him for being an asshole.

'Mr. Diaz, thank you for the taking time to meet with me. My full name is Hailey Alexandra Smith, I have studied economics at Harvard and has worked as an economics manager on Black's corporation for 2 years. I have recently decided I need to move forwards and start a little harder job. This is why I contacted you, I would like to apply for the position of the economics manager'

Hailey announced, making the Boss burst into laughter for a few minutes, making her feel extremely angry and disappointed in the Boss everyone fears.

The boss noticed her expression's change and seemed concerned for a few seconds, until he finally decided it was time to give Hailey a clear answer.

'Alright Ms. Smith, since you are so sure you can handle my company's economics I have an idea. I will give you three weeks to prove me you can handle it, if you succeed the position is yours, if you fail, I will give you the position of my maid'

The boss announced and Hailey took a deep breathe, trying to calm herself down and keep inside everything she wanted to scream at this man.

'Thank you Mr. Diaz, I will prove to you have made the right decision, see you in three weeks with the details of your economic situation and my hire contract'

She shook hands with the boss and smiley exited the office, still feeling the boss having that smirk and watching her walk. She closed the door behind her and left the building happily.

She had made the first step, she made the best first impression, she had taken the job and now she was ready for the next step. Make him fall in love with her.

She put her coat back on and stood at the edge of the sidewalk and raised her hand, trying to find a taxi that would drive her home. After a few minutes she finally did and after giving her address, the taxi started driving towards her house.

As pop music was playing on the background, Hailey turned down the noise of all those cars that were passing next to the taxi she was in and turned up her thoughts volume.

This time she was lucky enough to take the job and enter the Boss's closed circle, making it even easier to get him to fall for her but even more dangerous for her to get uncovered.

She paid the driver and exited the taxi, walking towards her house's front door. Her dog, behind the door was barking in happiness as she was unlocking and entering the house.

'Hey there buddy'

Hailey picked up her dog and walked into the kitchen, gave him a bone from the chicken and cleaned an apple for her, placed it into a plate and took it with her upstairs.

She let her hair down and took off her white dress, staying only in her red underwear. She sat on her black leather sofa and took a bite from her green apple.

Turning on the TV, she opened her Netflix account and after choosing a new romantic movie to watch, she ordered her dog to sit next to her, watching the movie together.

She turned up the volume of her TV to the fullest and walked inside her bathroom, undressed herself to take a quick shower and go get some sleep.

'I will always love you Felicia'

The voice of the main male character covered the noise the water was making and made Hailey burst into tears.

'I will always love you Hailey'

Mathew's voice filled Hailey's mind and made her fall on her knees, feeling her heart breaking into millions of pieces again, the sound of his voice brought back so many happy memories that were now lost forever.

Sitting there, on her knees, into her shower, with the hot water hitting her skin, burning her, with her hair covering her face, holding her hands so tight that she almost started bleeding.

Hailey stood up and without even wearing a towel, she walked out of the bathroom. She stopped in front of her old school bag and opened it, inside there was only one thing.

An old photo of Hailey and Mathew, they were sitting on some stairs and looking at each other without caring who was watching them. Katie, Hailey's school bestie had taken this photo on the last day of school before they get their exams results and pass into a university. They didn't even know Katie had taken it until Katie handed the photo to Hailey.

Hailey hasn't seen Katie since Mathew's funeral 3 years ago. Even if they hadn't spoken for almost 2 years after the school ended, Katie was there for Hailey when she needed her the most, but so was Hailey when Katie needed support for her divorce.

She held that photo close to her face and smelled it from a bit, still smelling like Mathew, he was the last one that touched this photo before his murder.

Hailey kissed that photo and with her teary eyes closed, she made her last promise to her lost love of her life.

'I promise you Mat, I will kill him slowly and painfully just like he killed you! I love you forever and always'

Hailey left the photo back to her old bag and turned to her dog before she falls on her bed, in order to rest her tired from the day body.

She closed her eyes and slowly started falling asleep, thinking about how her life was back then and how it is now, how she was drowning into an ocean of pain and sadness and how much she wanted to avenge her husband and father of her dead, unborn child's death.

And she would, because she is a woman, and not a typical woman, she was an angry woman seeking revenge but she would soon realize that not everything is what it seems and not everyone is who they want to seem…
